  • Macroalgae Ecosystem Bowl Planted Saltwater Pico (No Filter, No Ferts, No Water Change, No Leopards)
    In this video I make a pico saltwater planted bowl using macroalgae and live rock. I using black aquarium sand, live rock pieces from my existing systems and macroalgae I already have. I won't add any fish etc into this bowl as it it too small, however invertebrates such as copepods and a couple of dove snails will help to keep it clean. I also will not be doing water changes, adding fertilisers or using a filter and heater. There are absolutly no leopards in this aquarium as well which is a major breakthrough in fish keeping.

      @@EverydayAquarist haha... By the way I'm not into dramatic shots or backing music either. I mean I'm not against it either. I think there's a place and an appetite for all kinds of videos and production methods. I just like the focus to be all about the hobby. That's one of the things I like about your channel. Just thought I'd mention it.

    cool little project, Doves are my favourite got some from a friend and they breed away, them and Stomatellas are great self sustaining clean up crew saves money for other goodies 😅 and hermits seem to leave them alone too🤞

    If your not using coral sand how is the ph still 8.3???

    • @EverydayAquarist
      @EverydayAquarist  Před 2 lety +1

      It probably won't stay that hight but also macroalgae tend to increase pH around them as they photosynthesise so I Imagine it will be OK. Also macroalgae aren't as sensitive to lower pH afaik

  • @cezar050681
    @cezar050681 Před 2 lety +1

    Nice idea but macro algae needs flow and nutrients and Iron to thrive or Ty survive at least. In my opinion this micro reef/macro algae tank they are a waste of time long term because you can’t provide the right environment and conditions for the animals due to lack of space. But to you 🤞
