  • Akathisia was far and away the worst thing I experienced during my withdrawal from benzodiazepines. In fact, I can say it is the worst physical state I have experienced in my life. Period. It is often described as a "movement disorder" or as a kind of restlessness. It is so much more than that. I think akathisia needs to be more widely discussed and in more accurate language, as difficult as that may be.

Finally!!! Someone that’s not afraid to come out and tell it the way it is. Thank you. I thank God this only happened to me for a short while. ❤️

I am also eternally grateful mine was relatively short-lived as well. I would not have been able to continue with this as a chronic condition.

Thanks for your input and drawing. How did yours end? Or do you still have a slight restlessness? Just curious. 🤨

thanks for watching and listening. It went away with time. I had a two month period that was really rough. If that had continued I don't know what I would have done. I was at my wit's end. But then I started having longer and longer periods without episodes. And then eventually went a whole week!! And that continued in the right direction, although not always in a straight line. I am over 600 days off now and I have no more akathisia or "restlessness" of any kind.
