I remember playing this game as a little kid. I was like 4. I would sometimes just sit in the menu because I loved the music so much. Makes me tear up. so many memories. this game will never be forgotten.

and he's most likely gonna retire after this season with Sauber, the same team in which he started. indeed, how time flies, i still cant believe Alonso retired :(
Makes me sad to think Räikkönen would retire, I think and hope not, as long as he has a good car and is in good health. The finnish media estimated that he might stay, if he wins some points and is staying on the midfield on results, sadly the car seems way too slow for what it should be, atleast he is putting effort and research into it.
next year will be alonso

This song is pure nostalgia for me. I was 5 when I first played this with my Dad on PS2. I'm sure this game is why I'm so obsessed with electronic music because I played this game non-stop for around 3 years haha! Glad I found this tune :-)

Ueah same I'm also obsessed with electronic music and it's all thanks to early 2000's ps2 games that had electronic music in them. Ex: SSX3, Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2

EA Sports F1 2001 also had some great Chicane songs too. Which I still listen too. Nagasaki Badger, Sunstroke and The Drive Home.

First F1 game I ever played. Commentary from Murray Walker and Martin Brundle, something we don’t have anymore during the races on the new games. The soundtrack is amazing, sounds like Gary Scargill and Peter oldroyd from the F1 season reviews of the 90s. Brilliant game

That was one of the first games I've had for ps2 and to be honest the drifting in that game was kinda difficult at first
This is the first F1 game I can truly remember playing as a child at just 6 years old. It was Raikkonen’s debut season, and I’m now commenting just hours before the final race of the 2021 season, Raikkonen’s last Grand Prix. When I was 6 years old I thought the hero’s in the 2001 game would be here forever. I’m now 26 years old, and after today Alonso will be the last man standing. This menu music becomes more and more nostalgic and bittersweet as time passes by. Thanks for the memories!
This and Ash's Orpheus are two tunes that get you in the mood for racing.

No surprise, Formula One 2001 had epic crashes. Ever tried parking your F1 car sideways on the final straight of the Canadian GP? Absolute manic calamity ensues and it's hellaciously fun.
Liberty media should have used a variation of this as the theme for F1, it would have resonated with the current f1 fans a lot more

Oh l love this theme and the PS1's as well, these old F1 games surely have unique themes, l don't see this in the new F1 games. It's like they only try to take F1 from real life and just put it in virtual form. No extra salt, no extra seasoning, just put it in the pot and that's it.
F1 2006 on the PS3 is a perfect an example on how to make an F1 game in my personal opinion
SCE liverpool made a really rounded package, maybe codemasters are focussing too much on the driving aspects

@@JackpotButtonLewis That's what people always say but they're confusing the game with EAs F1 2001 which features Chicane tracks. I've never seen anything indicating Chicane is the composer of the Sony game and It would be pretty weird for him to do both.
@@drifter402 I’ve heard that before, well Nicholas ‘s name does appear in the credits to this game but not his group’s name, so that’s how I know he did the music in this game as well as the EA Sports F1 game series, it’s unusual but he did do the music to both games.
