Good reaction. This song is all in English (it was an exclusive track on the international edition of the second album - the Japanese edition had 'Syncopation' instead - a reaction is needed it you don't know that one either), but the lyrics have never been published, so the subtitles here are a sort of 'best guess' (and to be fair it is a better guess than most previous attempts).
After the album was released they only played this song live one time - at the Hollywood Palladium in 2017. The concert was filmed but there was some sort of copyright dispute, so it never saw the light of day and the only videos we had for this song were from shaky fan cams with equally shaky fan cam audio.
When BABYMETAL ran a poll to find the 10 most popular songs for their 10th anniversary album fans campaigned and voted FDTD in with the hope of another live performance and a BluRay video to watch and listen to.
The song was voted in but was not put on the album ... but happily we did get these two live performances at the 10 Budokan shows in 2021 and we now have this beautiful video to enjoy with Su working her magic with her vocals.

They recently finished the Australian Tour and more shows are coming, this World Tour is gonna even more awesome, they also released BabyMetal Returns - The Other One BD/DVD so you'll have a lot of more songs and versions to react in the future.
This song was performed along with Syncopation in the middle of setlist during Doomsday III and IV, it got that epic and ethereal vibes and it shows a mature side in BM second album, Metal Resistance. Both songs are part of that album, only thing is FDTD was released for international market and Syncopation only locally, of course is another suggestion for next reaction.
This is a long time waited proshot version for the fans, song was pushed to be performed again after many years and being played only one time at Hollywood Paladium in 2017 while on US tour when YuiMetal was still in the group, sadly for copyright disputes that proshot version never saw the light and we only have fancams of that.
Thankfully they performed this in 2021 at 10 Babymetal Years Budokan, and surprised everyone with this astonishing and beautiful production. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the avenger helping to fill the third spot and she did a great job.
Also the English lyrics is a little bit more clear thanks to Papa Xan from BMRR, but we don't have official lyrics yet, is one out of four songs with full English lyrics. Like someone said before, MoaMetal is like a body subtitles for this song.
Love that dubstep or brostep breakdown, is a genre widely know and popular around 2015 thanks to Skrillex among others, he actually become very good friend with BM and even invite them to perform during a Skrillex show in Japan playing a remix version of Gimme Chocolate!!

When I first heard this song I thought it was a sequel to "Atom Heart Mother" which I had been looking for for 50 years. My thought was that if possible, they should rework it into a 30 minute song. Then it would be a real sequel to Atom Heart Mother.

"FDTD" is pretty much different from... anything else, to be fair. It's a rarity by itself and because its weird live history as it has been already told. Stylistically, the song is an unique mix between dream trance and metal. And I love rarities! 🤘🦊

Nice reaction. Babymetal low key is still amazing. Su like when she belts out those notes. They almost lull you into thinking this is going into ethereal type music and then Bam. Here comes the spice and sugar and everything nice. And now you know why Babymetal is the leading cause of global warming. They bring it. Fire.

I can’t imagine another band/group that breaks the mold more often than BabyMetal. Each song/performance is different and they always keep you guessing.
If you haven’t reacted to BabyMetal’s The Trilogy of Lights (Starlight LIVE, Shine LIVE, Arkadia LIVE) or Kagerou LIVE with Kami Band intro or Tales of the Destinies LIVE (these are just a few examples of what I am getting at) maybe you can get to them eventually.
