God I love this card. I remember my Mom actually opened the pack for me that had this in it. Super underrated tech. Another tech I'm quite fond of Don Zaloog. He's quite the Upstart 👀

First time I noticed people playing Upstart was when Patrick Hoban used it in Dragunity Rulers back in 2013! Crazy that this card actually saw really competitive play that late - let me know if there was a Tier 1 deck before that I have missed that went with it competitively. 😅

u a real one jdz. this card is super underrated. i think players need to experiiment more with minus ones.

It really stuck out to me this video that if used right, this card isn't even a minus one - it trades with a card your opponent was using to answer your threat.
I also agree with the solem plays. If I ever open up solem I set everything I have. The 4K is worth it if heavy is out the way. Even better when I have 2.
I think some new players might see half your life points as a big cost to pay but field advantage matters so much more.
This is a very good point I didn’t think about that way. May they might be afraid to blast half health but in this game opening blade pot triple solemn you should win 95% of the time honestly

Upstart does have potential as it can draw into one of the 3 side decked dust tornado, mst looks on in jealousy.
I am a big fan of this deck. I always love it when someone gets an Upstart win with a tech card like inter-dimensional matter transporter.
It would be cool to see a red-eyes version of this deck seeing as red-eyes b. chick is level 1.

I used to use this card all the time back in the day. I would even go as far as to say upstart.
We all know that Strike Ninja is crazy and underrated threat. Interdimensional Matter Transporter basically turns every monster into Strike Ninja with extra tricks.
Also, I think in terms of side it's worth noting that IMT resets ATK loss of Zombyra.
I think that you can "abuse" more with reset effects like Limiter Removal which won't destroy your monster during the EP or Summoner of Illusion > Fusion > Won't be destroyed at EP as well
Maybe a multiple tech deck full of these

IDM might just be some *_upstart_* tech. I snagged a set of IOC 1st years ago and never really got around to messing with it. Very cool to see it in action! The interactions with Fusilier make me think it'll work well in a Horus turbo deck, since it can also protect King Dragun and small Horus.

Transporter gives opponents back their monsters even if under snatch or swap
you sure about swap? I found the snatch interaction but not with swap
@@nicholascastellari9655 it erases preexisting conditions like swap. Technically goes back to your field then immediately goes back to owner.

They should errata Interdimensional Matter Transporter so that it can protect Face Up or Face Down monsters.

It is not my intention to be an Upstart, but In the Previously Official Rulings for Interdimensional Matter Transporter, if you activate it on an opponent's monster equipped with Snatch Steal, then it will come back to your side of the field in the End Phase, then immediately return to your opponent's field because it is no longer equipped with Snatch Steal.
Upstart is the teal secret tech.

I play this card in my Last Warrior from another Planet Deck. I phase him away, play my Monsters and at the end he comes back but doesn‘t blow up my field.

I love DonnyZ as we used to call him back in the day
Although its less costly and more flexible, as a 'piece of tech', I think IMT is a poor mans My Body As A Shield and tbh, slower.
There were moments in the vid where i understood and saw IMTs use and power but other times where you were less established, 'on the draw' or JUST drawing IMT where im like, this is not a splash tech. 😅
In certain decks i think it has a calling, like the way this deck uses it for dragun. Something that takes advantage of the applications and situations IMT allows without soley relying on IMT. In the right deck I think it could truly carve out its own niche in GOAT.
My body as a shield is quite good for the points you made but IMT is much better because it can
- Dodge snatch steal (my body can’t )
- Dodge Thousand eyes ( my body can’t )
- Dodge Chaos monster banish
- Dodge an enemy monster attack (which can be important for so many reasons)
- you can use it offensively ( my body is only defense)
- it’s free 1500lp adds up these days
As instated I don’t think IMT is the best card but I think it’s playable especially if you build around its unique effect even with return. Attack IMT return attack again seems very cool
Love to see less popular cards get used effectively - negating that snatch steal.....upstart

I am mostly a Tengu format guy. But I hop on Goat From time to time hoping to run into you lmao. It’s a fun format when I’m not playing Turbo.
But also that card goes hard with Warrior from Another planet.

You kinda blew my mind with this one move him out flip all your stuff maybe otk and then he comes back that sounds cool

@@GoatFormatyea if you get last warrior out it gives you good pressure. But it suck when he gets snatched steal or ringed right after. The transporter helps bait out all their outs. Plus if you have my body as a shield in your build as well, you have him protected from destructions and any targets that might move him.
Once again it helps drain your opponent of resources and when they finally (and if) they get him out. The rest of your plays are safer.
Very niche card, goes well with monarchs, ter, king dragun and reasoning coz of crane/ dmoc. Honestly i just prefer book of moon tho lol
Certainly book of moon is just a better card but the protection factor this card can provide can be explored I feel

As a warrior player, the first opponent got me upset 😂
I am confused.... at 9:23 you got hit with solemn. This means that you have 2 light monsters (shinning angels) and 1 dark monsters (breaker) in your GY.
Couldn't you just have BLS'd for game? Why did you pass the turn giving your opponent another turn? For that matter, why didn't he Kycoo your stuff away?

Because kycoos floodgate ability will prevent me from banishing the required cards to summon bls
And for your second question they could have made a mistake and not banish. However shining angel in this current iteration of goat format most often mean return from the different dimension maybe they could have been not trying to lose to it I hope this helps
@GoatFormat Been playing this game since StarterDeck:Pegasus days, and I completely forgot about Kycoo floodgate effect. Also did not think about using the vanished cards as return fuel.

@@GoatFormat like here 24:11 if u set the teletransporter u protect the faith against noc or even if he had mind control pretty nuts. ofc then u topped the fusilier and it worked out better but still
could even try summoner of illusions since he combos with goats, can be protected by the transporter and also bring out some fusions which also be transported and then it wont die (but maybe a little too cute). so maybe cutting the shining angel package could be good! just some thoughts! Thanks Jdz!
