This was such a great video! I learned so much and it helped calm me down and prepare me better for the call if it ever happens!

Hello. Getting ready to start submitting book number 6 next year. I had the call once, on my first book, only to get the R and R request, which was subsequently rejected. Hurts but I’m ready to set right back in the wagon

HIii! I've seen lots of videos about the call, but none about what happens next (as in, right away) how does signing the contract go about? Do they send you the physical papers and then you send it back? When is it official official? Thank you so much!

OK, so we will totally answer this in an episode, too, but I'm realizing it might be a while before that's posted, so.... After I had my 1st call, I notified all the agents who had my full, partial, AND just a query. I ended up getting a bunch more requests (including some from agents who only had my query). I ended up getting 2 more offers that same week & doing calls with those agents as well. In the meantime, I requested a sample of the contract to be sent to me, as well as references, for each agent. I looked at all of these/talked to their clients they provided as references. THEN, I made my decision (well, it was really obvious as soon as I got on the phone w/ the agent I signed with), notified her I was accepting her offer, notified the agents who had offered I was turning down that I appreciated the offer but went with someone else. My agent then sent a contact over the same day. I read it, had someone else in the biz read it, signed it (we used on-line signing software). My agent is super fast, so I had notes from her within a few days (but a few weeks or even a month or two is normal), and we had a phone call soon after to go over them in depth. Then I started revising! Let me know if you have anymore questions on this!
