I'm French and when I listen to the Diva Lara Fabian sing I burst into tears...they flow on their own. The texts, the musicality and especially the interpretation of Lara are incredible? She is moving and captivating, you would think she is telling her own life, just wonderful... she gives me goosebumps this song. One of the most beautiful songs of all time... A great artist, again BRAVO LARA

Her live performances are the best. She "feeds" off of the audience and their emotions.

    More information about Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best.
There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register.
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
    • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total
    • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
    • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
    • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages.
She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today.
She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
in 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert.
But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan.
She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years.
She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace" used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera topped the charts for months.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA is now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these)
Out of my mind I can list:
    • Adagio,
    • Mademoiselle Hyde,
    • Know,
    • Love of tired swans,
She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ».
She covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva)
And they performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina.
This is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida.
Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs:
    • Floor Jansen (Adagio)
    • Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime)
    • Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie)
    • Morissette Amon (Broken Vow)
    • Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace)
    • Cakra Khan (Broken Vow)
    • Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow)
    • Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade)
    • ....
Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
If you explore more of her songs, you will soon be hooked, I'm sure.

Hooked up on Lara Fabian reactions for two years now, just to re-experience that awe. For the first three months, I could not watch this without bawling my eyes out. This is better in expressive terms than a lot of opera.
And in addition she's gorgeous and her resonance...out of this world.

This remains the most perfect stage performance of any song I've ever seen. Her technique is incredible but seamless & invisible --> everything is done in service of the story/character. Astonishing.

@@DoggieFosters I completely agree. I mean, there are opera performances that are awesome like this, but this is so delicate, precise and resonant with the artistry that opera is somewhat constrained in.

Adagio and Caruso are two others of my favorites of this vocal genius. There is also a very unique video of her live in Paris in 2001 where the interaction with her audience is one of the most moving and emotional exchanges in the history of modern performances. The name of that song is Je t'aime. It is well worth a reaction. She is to me, on my top of top singers list, along with Sohyang. They both bring incredible emotion to their performances. Thanks for the reaction to this stunning piece of work.

Great reaction to this beautiful performance. I first came across Lara Fabian in the year 2000. I was a recent college graduate and was beginning my life as an adult, so now, whenever I listen to music from that year, it takes me right back to that time in my life. Anyway, I heard Lara Fabian's dance/pop hit 'I Will Love Again' on a TV show here in the U.S.., and was captivated by Lara Fabian's voice. I bought the album and had it on repeat during much of that year. Sadly, the publicity around that album was short-lived, and I lost track of her career. I am only now discovering her career in Europe and all of the beautiful music I've missed in the past 22 years.

Great reaction, fun to watch. TY!!! She is a Sorceress. The Sorceress Queen, she puts us under a spell and then plays with our emotions at will. We are mesmerized. spellbound...unable to get out of Lara's world. And when the song is over - we start it over and play it again. We search for and listen to her body of work, we tell our friends, we share her art.
And then? We come and watch reactions to her videos trying to recapture the moment it happened to us. For it was so sweet, so sublime, game-changing. Millions can tell you how they feel cheated, sickened, that they did not discover Lara sooner...I am counted in that group. She IS the Sorcerer Queen, long may she reign. The best of anyone I have heard or seen, anywhere, anytime...ever.
Most of links in this post below are newly restored and of high quality and, importantly, all have English subtitles when not sung in English. Have fun...you are screwed now, she will have you. Never watch a studio or official video of Lara, always live...she is just to great live to miss out.
"Adagio" -czcams.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/video.html - is a beautiful and powerful song, a very old classical piece written by Tomaso Albinoni (most would say) which she resurrected and wrote lyrics to. Her biggest hit really, and an insane demonstration of vocal flawlessness and passion by our then young Queen...long may she reign.
czcams.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/video.html - turn CC on - Lara Fabian - "Caruso" (In Italian with English lyrics translations) Great Song about the great Caruso's dying days with his young wife. An Italian classic covered by, well, everybody. Lara crushes it. Best version ever and that includes Pavarotti, whom I adore, so I am saying a lot there.
czcams.com/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/video.html - Lara Fabian-Concert From Lara With Love "Broken Vow" (English) She wrote this, bring tissue. Lara attempts to teach us how to live through betrayal.
czcams.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/video.html - turn CC on - Lara Fabian "Perdere L'amore"...Losing Love... (Italian with English subs) Another Italian classic, destroyed by Lara in perfect Italian. It is hard to emphasis how big this song is in Italy, a great song, covered by zillions...there is non better than this.
czcams.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/video.html "You're Not From Here" English - Maybe my favorite Lara song. The 100th time you see\hear it will still feel like the first. Lara is definitely the deep end of the pool.
czcams.com/video/DuSDdjU4S8M/video.html - Lara Fabian- "Mademoiselle Hyde" - live 2016 (In English with Deutsch/Português subs) She co-wrote this with the maestro, Igor Krutoy. This is the most recent of the videos (2016) and shows a maturing Lara killing it. Great song, evocative, as she plays split personalities on stage, and Lara leaves us shredded.
czcams.com/video/l826rlBOn9w/video.html - Lara Fabian - "Je T'aime" (I Love you) - (In French with English subtitle) Everyone in France knows this song by heart. She wrote it. Two versions here. One, here in this paragraph, is a great live version in its own right, and needs to bee seen and heard, the second is from a live performance where the audience takes over the song and sings "We love you" to Lara in place over the actual lyrics "I love you" and a broken up Lara attempts to sing counterpart to her adoring audience. It is insanely powerful...Tissues required. I recommend doing the last one, the 2nd version of "Je T'aime" below.....last. By then, you will be in a life long relationship with Lara...you will not make it through the song.
czcams.com/video/J309uTn8EsU/video.html - Lara Fabian - Je t'aime _ with English subtitles maybe watch this last (see one up from here for "why").

She is also Dimash’s idol and the inspiration of so many others from the new generation.
She has songs in English, French, Italian and spanish as she speaks these languages fluently and has written the lyrics for most of these songs.
You can start exploring her artistry by checking this playlist of songs from ths same concert : czcams.com/play/PLV-BfzP9ln4xyPy8l43ag7hd20S9PeNiE.html
I recommend you to react to:
    - Adagio (english)
    - Caruso (italian with english subtitles)
    - Broken vow ( english)
    - you are not from here ( english)
    - perdere l’amore (italian with english subtitles)
    - love by grace ( english)
I will post in a separate comment more information on her background, career and the influence she has on the new generation of vocalists

All of these are great suggestions! Personally, I would suggest Broken Vow the most (but, really, I mean all of them; in fact, maybe just react to her concert: From Lara With Love)!

@@ilsukdyang8134 Every time I listen to Broken Vow, I believe it's my favorite.
But then I realize I feel the same when listening to "You're Not From Here", and then most of her performances.
It is hard to choose really, as each performance is a journey with emotion and beauty.
If someone was to ask me what song of Lara they should listen to before any other, I'd probably be stuck and unable to give a honest answer 🙂

It's "pronounced "malad", but for the sake of the song it's pronounced with an extra e, like we do with poems sometimes.

She’s the best female pop vocalist on planet earth. She can belt them like this one in 12!!!!!!different Languages ( CZcams “ Lara Fabian sings in 12 languages). She also writes and co-writes many songs ( Dimash idolizes her and they sing together) and you just reacted to the best live performance from the 1990s/2000s. Many other songs from this concert. Her last “ broken vow” ( popularized by Josh Groban) should be your next Lara reaction because she introduces it by telling us how she wrote the song. Please react next. The song is about betrayal but forgiveness. Bring tissues.

Are we reacting to a VIDEO or are we just listening to the audio, you have to watch the screen to see the VIDEO. I'm stopping watching your reaction just like you keep looking over towards the camera and probably another screen with your face on it or text from subs that you could read after you've actually WATCHED Lara's video.
