    Also one more thing sometimes i dont have games, apps sound, although ring tone and alarm etc works fine. When LED turns on i hear some kind of sound from the upper part of the iPhone (lens focusing sound i guess). This problem doesnt arise while the iphone is plugged in.
    Do you have any idea what could be the problem so i can replace it. As it is really annoying. Thank you for such a wonderful video and all the help.

    Hi, I have followed all the steps (even twice) but unfortunately the screen doesn't turn on.
    The iPhone 4S itself does, it vibrates and when I look in the Iphone with the back cover off I can see the screen light light up when I push the lock button or the home button, but the digitizer doesn't respond neither does the screen lights up in the front.
    How can I fix this, or what may be wrong?
    ps: I did replace the screen + digitizer and they are plugged in as should.

    Hello, I have an iphone 4s that was recently (about 3 weeks ago) slightly water damaged. The phone keeps saying that it needs to be charged, I put it on the charger and it appears to be charging but never actually turns on. When I disconnect the phone from the charger the phone prompts me to reconnect it to the charger. And in the process of never turning on the phone just becomes hot. HELP! Is there any way I can save the phone at home? Thank you.

    Tech support says to use this video for the 5s. DO NOT. If you pry the battery out the way they say, it can split can catch fire. Mine did. Use the iFixIt video, perhaps. I can't verify the iFixIt video since I had to throw the 5S in a bucket of water to avoid a serious fire. It will be interesting to see how iCracked responds to this problem. I will try and keep this updated unless it gets deleted. Feel free to ping me if need be.

    • @powerfultoa7
      @powerfultoa7 Před 7 lety

      Mike Porter It is still OK provided you do the process slowly. Using a plastic card instead of a small wedge is the best way to go about it.

    • @MikePorterInMD
      @MikePorterInMD Před 7 lety

      No, the best way to do it is to follow the iFixIt directions. This video is crap for a 5s and iCracked is a ripoff. Do not use their products. Their support sucks and I almost got seriously hurt or at least burned the table.

    • @powerfultoa7
      @powerfultoa7 Před 7 lety

      Mike Porter +Mike Porter Sometimes it's only way to go about it - especially when working on difficult phones when the sticky tape breaks. It's not the most ideal way to get a battery out but it's one of the most common methods repair people use a lot of time.
      It is a risky process, no doubt. But like I said, if you do the process slowly and use a flexible card instead of a hard wedge, most of the time you should come out fine.

      No problem but i can't guarantee you it would work since corrosion eats solder away when connected to an electronic source such as the battery or charger. So you might solder some eaten away connections or replace oxidized/burned capacitors/filters/resistors.

    I had accidentally dropped my iPhone 4 in the water for 10 sec or so. I have cleaned the iPhone after opening it. Luckily there was no water in side the phone but i am facing a weird problem. My iPhone LED randomly turns on. Sometime it turns on several times in a minute. I have read that it is mostly dock connector issue. I have tried the phone after removing the dock connector and its cable from the logic board, but problem persists. I even tried after removing other parts(cam, hp jack etc).

    No. That's a short causing it, probably ionide or salt residue forom the water. Take it to a shop, have them to a waterdamage fix, though from what you've said so far, you're probably, in addition looking at a couple of replacement parts, but the pro's should be able to see it. Also leave the iphone OFF, to prevent chance of it shorting out the mainboard, as there's no repair for that other then a new phone.

      jon lafave This is a little late, but some good FYI, use this type of cleaner www.amazon.co.uk/bottle-isopropanol-Alcohol-Isopropyl-cleaner/dp/B00AMYY95Q, submerge your motherboard completely for like 1 minute, or you can use like a toothbrush (you could use swabs, but i dont like using them just because it leaves little fuzzies) if its still black its 99% of the time the battery that causes that issue, otherwise screen is the culprit. But its technically the backlight that isn't working either by "malfunctioning battery", "corrosion of mobo..which is typically from water damage", or bad LCD, digitizer would never affect lcd functionality as its sole purpose is to receive touch actions and convert them into digital signals that your phone interprets not the lcd.

    What a bunch of rip off artists? Jesus, I can buy a new battery for $7, I already have Qtips, I can buy whatever alcohol solution for like $5, and all the tools for $5... YOURE MAKING OVER 100% profit. Why would I ever consider buying the kit.

    So I dropped my phone in the toilet and took it out with in 3 seconds. I immediately put it in a bag of rice. The flashlight randomly turned on.... I was wondering if having the phone in rice would even help, considering rice won't be able to dry up everything? I was looking at your repair kits and I honestly find it not worth it. If you are going to have problems afterwords then whats the point of wasting money on something that isn't going to fix it, at least 90% of it. Your video is great but I don't see why the repair kit is so expensive. I'd rather by a new iPhone with no problems. Sorry but thanks
