that cut to the jet engine 290 blower fan made me spit out my drink lmao
Lol my wife used to dry her hair with it đ€Ł
Interesting that the 1% and .1% lows were more consistent on the 6700XT.
I noticed that. Smoother game play.
I donât remember which video but Linus said the same thing
The 3070 runs out of Vram in 1440p, more and more. 8gb is not enough anymore. FailVidia.
YAY REVIEW SAMPLES FOR TIMMY JOE!!!!!
Timmy got launch review samples! Moving up in the world!
Was that your bowling shirt? That thing is sweet!!
Sitting her petting my 1060, i want a 3000 series đ
I have a 2070 Super and feel the same way. I managed to get a Ryzen 5600X and 5800X on launch. 5600X for my wifeâs rig. 5800X for mine although would have loved to had the 5900X couldnât find one. But anyway got those on launch and meanwhile still canât get a RTX 3080. I even signed up for EVGAs digital queue line based system early November 2020 and itâs STILL not been my turn yet.đ©
Still using a R9 290, its the tri-x one bt sapphire, so its not so hot and loud. It works fine but an upgrade will probably consist of a whole new computer though. Using a i7-3770 good but old too. Dont play many modern games, so I'm not in too worried. Beamng.drive probably the most demanding game i play, r9 works great but id rather have a better CPU for it.
I had a 3070 and sold it and bought a 6700xt both great cards and feel equal to me paired with my 3600

Sitting here petting my gt 1030...
I just ordered a second hand reference model for $300 USD! So pumped... I had the choice between that and a 3060ti at that price... I've been interested in getting a 6700xt since before the price came down though. Definitely play older games the majority of the time but only at 1080p high refresh rate. This thing should be great for that use case.
Amd graphics side famous last words: If this would have been released a year ago... Polaris, Vega, Vega 2.0, 5000 series, and now the 6000 series.
Nah, they're on par with current tech now (finally) across the product stack. So now the last words for ANY pc builder is "what's actually in stock?" because neither company's cards are lol.
@@Mavairo They are still a step behind. The Nvidia cards perform quite a bit better at 1440p and 4k without DLSS or ray tracing. When you factor in DLSS and RTX that actually puts AMD VERY FAR behind.
@@austinr09 if by step you mean 5 frames, kinda eh. Iâd say on par when compared correctly. This isnât even the direct competitor to the rtx 3070 and its performing similarly if not beating it in some cases. Remember the actual 3070 competitor is the 6800
i get 4 gb vram more all day long baby , most of the new games hit 10 gb vram mark Xd 12 gb 6700xt is in perfect spot , got the gaMING x THAT IS auto clocking to 2,720 ghz and is a blast
@@deadscene1 ayy I got the same card, itâs amazing. I actually got an rtx 3070 as well and other than dlss in war zone, I notice little to no difference in performance
I would be picking the 6700xt over the 3070. 2800Mhz under 200 to 150 watts on average over an 3070 220 to 250 watts on average at 2100mhz. Frame time being low and consistent = smoother gameplay to the users. And it put less workload on the CPU if you pay attention with the framerate chart as much you would in other stats to put into equation of how well the 6700xt have over with the 3070 over effectivity of wattage uses of given framerate and frame time. I think the 6700Xt is a solid buy over the 3070 if you do not care about DLSS and Extra Candy to the eye, when you just want to game.
This guy has become my favourite tech reviewer.
All major YT guys do the stuff they do under a lot of pressure now but Timmy seem to genuinely enjoy doing this. â€ïž
The gates of hell comment made me chuckle đ€Ł
Great review! Liked the edit. 10/10. Love your vids Timmy Joe!
Thank the heavens, for a moment there Timmy I thought you were going to tell us to over pay for the cards and use them for mining to repay that debt ion 10 months time.
Holy shit you're at 160k?! You blew up quick my friend.
I wish you all a good day, and stay hydrated.
Tech features are not needed to sell video cards right now. DLSS for AMD will be delayed to sell overpriced RDNA3 cards where it will be needed.
Timmy joe- long time sub here... would love for you to get back to some of the old videos, weird builds/mods/etc
Like your new content but Iâd like to see you get back to basics. Always loved you content because it was something I could see myself doing in my garage for fun
I'm still running my XFX 6700xt...Has aged wonderfully
I got one off Amazon (not the cheapest place) for $430 and I overclock it with a button press to 2651mhz no sweat at all. Fornite max-out settings 110fps in stock clock and ryzen in eco-mode. Hi-ly recommend
No what that meant was that for some reason they were fine with giving more than one card for free advertising while everyone is still waiting for a card.
Looking at those benchmarks, the 6700xt was smoother in some games, specially with those 0.1% lows.
What are those green flickers in your video, is Nvidia paying you to insert some subliminal messaging Fight Club style? LOL đ
I thought it was my gpu memory freaking out since i just install a kraken G12 lmao, ive been tryna figure out why and i seen noone mention it XD.
@@deadly_mir Don't worry, it's just TJ inserting green GPU's with dicks on it to make us buy Nvidia instead, LOL đ
Great review man! Thanks for this. Hopefully, I can get one. The heat output of the older cards was ridiculous.
Just picked up the MSI Gaming X 6700 XT to replace my 5700 xt. This thing is a beast. It clocks up to 2850mhz and 2.1 ghz on the memory. It's a dead silent ripper!
How is your experience with the card so far ? Any feedback would be appreciated . Thanks
@@latinochico itâs been fantastic. Sits around 68 C under load in my tiny ITX case. 1440p gaming is great on it.
Miss you Timmy Joe!
So i should try and grab one tomorrow? Ive been trying to get a 3060 ti under $500 but thats basically impossible. (Upgrading from a 1070)
Under 500 is impossible if you can get it for 500 thatâs good
Timmy.... dude.... don't fkn change man. Love your videos and enthusiasm. I bought the ref design 6700XT and loving it. Last year 2080ti $1500 CAD. Got this 6700XT $750 CAD. Awesome.
ey i kept seeing green bars from your video, idk if its my computer or not but it looks like and encoding problem idk thought id say somthing in case someone else has problems
great reviews man, been watchin for years :D
my geforce 4 mx 460 coupled with a celeron running on windows 2000 is still doing the job
que the benchmarks and she pukes on the ground infront of you
@@raven4k998 a solid 85 fps in hitman codename 47
Great review man! You just got a new subscriber
that smart access memory thing looks interesting
Honestly, I'd say RT is non an argument still. The majority of optimization out there now is pretty much tailored to Nvidia's Ampere and Turing and all that is subject to change as we move forward.. what is here now is pretty shit. Even with DLSS making the franerate reasonable I find it also still looks blurry in a bunch of supported titles. Hoping Bannerlord implementation works well.
Still, at $480 "MSRP", this card is a bit too pricey considering its predecessor.
Glad you got cards mate đ
Thanks for the review :)
Good to see ya keepin' on keepin' on :)
In stock in the UK at places but the price is expensive, around ÂŁ790 from shops. But when that is the only thing in stock it's a no brainer. I plan to buy it and pear it with a 5600x
Good review from a different perspective, thanks as always timmy
if thats the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Mech 2X OC 12GB? I just brought one today and I hope it does what it says for when I play and stream.
Timmy you keep saying it's on par with a 2080ti but you did not add that to your benchmarks why ? The 3070 is only on par with the 2080ti in some game's that's why I ask !
Wondering if this applies too the MSI 6700 xt mech 2x oc 12gb
nice to see amd support you this time!! and it would be nice to find any stock haha
Digginâ the shirt. Still waiting on my new rig to come. Canât wait to see my 3080 in all its glory! đ Mein Leben is Wolfenstein.
I'm actually thinking of getting myself a 6700XT. I'm currently running a 5700 non-XT, the Powercolor Red Dragon Version and overall I'm happy with the performance of that card with all of the games I'm playing but I would like to have a card that fully supports all of the DX12 Ultimate features, like Variable Rate Shading and Mesh Shaders, wich the 5700 sadly doesn't and considering that the 6700XT is on average around 30% faster then a 5700XT, wich itself is around 15-20% faster then my 5700 non-XT, even in terms of performance it would be a noticable improvement. I know the 6800 and up would be even better but those are like 1250$ and up over here, the 6800XT go for 1500$ and up and the 6900XT are 1800 and up.
Edit:
Also, Tech YES City mentioned in their review that the 6700XT has a rather low hash rate at only 40-43 MH/s, wich is considerably slower then even a 5700 Non-XT, so maybe miners will not be that interested in these cards.
Is it som green flickering on this video somtimes?? or is it youst my graphic card dieing?
nah it'll be fine!
I got those glitches too, altho I was starting to worry since I had it on another video today, but after rewinding abit they repeat at same spot.
OMG those 0.1% are insane on the amd side!!!!!!!!!!
Gamers nexus really bashed on the stock cooler. He didn't even mention the old blower coolers. I'm glad you have shown the real difference between the old Vs new coolers rather than comparing a ref cooler which is fine to a super high end cool like GN did. đ
Perfect...finally a review that just puts the facts on the table for the average gamer
I am a proud owner of a 6700xt. I love it. Thanks for the review timmy - cody
Loved the review.
Mad how I've had my r9 290x for 7 years, and tomorrow arrives my 6700-xt (only ÂŁ599!!)
Not bad however it shows you AMD needs 600-700 MHZ higher clocks to complete. Plus DLSS crushes AMD when you compare.
This is the only card in Canada you can get in stores.
The average seems to be a bit lower overall but the 1% and .1% were tighter which is nice. I think the AMD card will age better as well. The 5700XT is miles faster than it used to be.
Honestly, the only reazon to buy this card, is IF you can actualy buy it. I'd rather get the 3070... is already faster BEFORE rt and dlss... But of course, it will depend on what card you can actualy buy.
Oh and... man... everybody talking about how many mhz can the AMD cards reach... how good are those 2800mhz if the 3070 with 2050 mhz is still faster? Is just a higher number to bamboozle you... all that matters is the actual performance.
I loved my R9 295x2... Even if it took you an advanced programing degree to get to run ANY video game "well". And that was revolutionary for it's time. I would still go with Nvidia over AMD because it is easier to use on a windows machine. Timmy, I was wondering if you could do something that involves EGPU's and the newest versions of all of these cards to see how well they run vs. a non-egpu version of the same machine? Thank you for all of the awesome content!
You love ragging on the r9 290x. Me here with a r9 290x tri x sapphire thinking I did well finding something decent in these times of no graphics cards. I don't have any issues with temps with mine. It'll work until I can finally find something new to replace it with.
"If you can find it at MSRP, you should probably get it"
Lets hope there is stock. Great video TJ!
Iâm getting a stable 2800MHz with an 1150mV undervolt with my reference Powercolor 6700XT đđŒ
& thatâs just from an initial benching session across Superposition, Heaven, Time Spy.
Im in New Zealand and there is stock down here... for now. Plenty of AIB variants too.
Glad that the AMD cards are getting some love. I've used both AMD and Nvidia over the past 35 years and both are great cards.
I'm getting a 6700xt this Wednesday. Gonna try my best for the msi one but I have a better shot at the asrock or the red devil one. Do you have one of the 6700xt?
35 years?????
The B roll of the blower card absolutley killed me đ€Ł
my local pc parts specialists had stock in today...for about an hour....they sold out....BUT the rrp on these is around ÂŁ350 and the retailers are selling them for ÂŁ600+ which is a total rip off....even the retailers are f%^$king screwing us now.....as if miners, bots, supply shortage, etc isn't enough.....đ€Źđ€Źđ€Ź
Managed to get my hands on the sapphire nitro rx 6700 xt
Nice card from AMD, what's up with those 0.1% lows being way higher than the 3070?
funny, kyle was getting higher fps on a reference card with an oc........
In my opinion you're the best at this job. Other reviews are more technical but also more boring. You're more fun and a better show host.
I found your old skateboard videos do you still do it?
Got Xfx Merc 319 6700XT w/ 5600X and love it.
Is it me or is CZcams videos flickering green now? @ 4:28 in this video.
Bought one of these for just under $600. Itâs crazy how the 6700xt is selling for around $100-$200 less than a 3060 and around $400 less than a 3060ti.
Those 1% lows on the 6700XT must have been buttery smooth, đ€
Miss your content Timmy Joe. đ đ„ïž
i read somehwere their stock is 3 times better for the 6700xt. but, since the 6000 series so far is covering about 2% of the market right now, that still isnt great stock :(
Okay but that radeon card kinda looks cool going for the msi one this week.
could we get commentary during the benchmarks instead of music?
dont know how people are getting the GPU watts to show in msi afterburner, good review Timmy
Advanced Mining Devices has come a long way. Rumor has it they used to make video cards for retail. Wonder if that'll ever happen again...
Good to see you happy pal
Radeon run worse with DX11, what are you talking about?
Nvidia has always have the advantage in DX11, which is the majority of online games where you would want high FPS.
AMD sent you some dough along with the 6700XT?
Timmy youâre freaking adorable haha
Is that the 3070 Gaming X Trio?
Mine sits at 65C MAX. If I undervolt it, 61C max and it's able to keep stable at 2085-2100 MHz. AMD card has to go 2.6 ghz+ to match it.
i just bought one of these and now im seeing videos pop up on it
Its all good buuuuuut, i dont have anymore kidneys to sell.
I think there was a decent amount of stock for the 6700 xt. I went on launch day to a Microcenter, might have been 100 of out waiting and there was still some left the next day.
So the hardware is getting better, but the prices are beyond atrocious.
I'll guess I'll just watch for now.
His red hair helps with AMD samples!
Just bought today from AMD's website. I love the price I paid.
I've got a 2080 Super and feel bloody lucky
the look at 13:17 I loved it.
with Doom Eternal, where you using the Vulkan API on both cards?
whats the difference in the 6700xt gaming x and the 6700 xt mech 2x?
really want one but damn the pricing is around 1435 dollars
Love your opinion of 5700xt and I am so happy you get to play with the big boy's
isnt the 6700xt like 200$ cheaper than the 3070?
Yea it was a strange hype piece with good info that's almost hidden and some claims that border on being outright lies. Strange one for Timmy.
@@chargedonpc9989 he is comparing gaming z with gaming x trio, not reference
If it could work try add the blower cooler to a rx 6700 xt would be funny to see the temp difference
Pulling a Linus at the end there... xD
No need for a review, does it play video game? Yes
Is it in stock? Maybe.
Then buy it if you can get it for a reasonable price.
no does it play crysis? lol
Yeah, they are out of stock... I searched everywhere...
@13:17, Linus feels a disturbance in the drop force.
other people get greenish flashes starting @ 4.27/4.28? I always check your video's i like your content
yay! Timmy got some cards!
fsr came out in june :)
