This world cup we won largely due to great Kapil and Mohinder Amarnath. Great Amarnath is one of the most underrated player in history and also the victim of politics. In 1982-83 season, he played so magnificently that he scored 1182 runs in just 11 test matches played against strongest opposition i.e West Indies and Pakistan. He single handedly mastered Holding, Marshall, Garner, Roberts, Imran and Sarfaraz, This was the time when Imran was at his peak and west indies had most lethal bowlers in the history. During this season even greats like Gavaskar could not succeed. He scored 3 centuries against Pakistan and 2 against west indies in this season. Likes of Imran, Gavaskar declared him the best batsman in the world. And even west indian players like Holding, Marshall, Richards praised his batsmanship and courage
