    Very nice coast line but I imagine it could get very cold once the wind comes up from the southern ocean. I noticed grass growing in the gutter of the house behind you. So they need to be told to clean their gutters & save money in the long run. I loved the vivid colours of the sunsets & sunrises, although I don't know that I would be venturing out to view them on a cold morning!!😀

    That last sunrise and sunset were pretty special. One question I have, is did you air down your tyres for that beach drive, or was the sand firm enough at that time of year to not worry about it?

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Před 10 měsíci

      We only did a short beach drive and didn't need to air down as the sand was very hard along the beach.

    We love Point Turton. We go every January for our family holiday, about 15 years now. Can I ask if you have a registration exemption on your ute or is it still charged as a commercial vehicle. I know that's an issue in SA. Making a huge jump in registration. I want to get one similar but am scared off by the rego increase. Thanks for your videos I love them

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Před 9 měsíci +1

      There was a long time ago a registration exemption but it was stopped possibly 15 years ago at a guess. It hurts every time the registration renewal comes up but not much I can do about it. The vehicle that we have serves us well so we just pay the extra and move on.
      Glad you are liking the videos.

    Hi Mick love your videos mate ! Can I ask you what is the reason to have noodles on the awning rafters please?

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Před 9 měsíci

      It will give just that little more tension between the rafter and the awning roof which helps reduce some of the flapping caused by wind. This also stops one of our rafters from moving ever so much in the top retaining plate on the side of the caravan and us hearing the movement from inside the caravan.
      In saying that, some awning makers frown at the idea of using the noodles like we do, they say it causes unnecessary tension and distortion to the awning material. We have noticed this during a hot day but the awning roof has always returned to it original shape during the night when rolled up so we have continued to use the noodles.

    Mick, I'm just wondering, you have a SatKing Pro on the roof of the van. Can you not run internet through that rather than using Starlink? Reason I'm asking is I'm in the progress of planning an offroad caravan build and don't really want to double up in equipment and fees. I have never used either system so advice would be helpful 👍

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Před 9 měsíci

      Both the Satking Promax as well as Starlink are excellent and easy systems to use but as far as I am aware one will not do what the other does. I am not aware of any satellite dish for TV that can also be used for the internet, do more research as I might be wrong as things change all of the time.
      We had our Promax unit fitted a number of years ago ready for our retirement. Had we known Starlink was coming we may not have fitted the Promax unit as the internet now offers so much viewing opportunities via TV catch up as well as what can be viewed on CZcams. In saying that, the Starlink at the moment is fairly hungry on battery power when off grid where the Promax uses very little battery power.
      Long story short, if you want both and can financially justify the cost of the Promax, I would get both. Once you have the Promax, there is no further cost to use it. Unlike Starlink, the on going monthly cost while using it isn't cheap.
      Good luck with your planning and enjoy the new caravan.

      @paulclark6319 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the fast response - you may be right re non compatibility to do both. More research - love your channel & trips. Safe travels 👍

      Yes they are as long as they are outside of any National Parks. All of the areas that we camped in during this series are Council owned and run campgrounds which were outside of any National Park.
