- This video is me starting my project to redesign the End Dragon fight in Minecraft. It's currently a little lackluster and I want it to be fun to play for hundreds of concurrent players. For no reason in particular...

obsidian chains would've been very fitting still
i would reccomend using blackstone or deepslate. fits nether vibe without having that weird obsidian texture for the WHOLE chain, instead allowing you to break it up with bricks and cobble

You can use a datapack to modify which blocks get the "dragon_immune" tag, so you don't have to worry about the dragon destroying the builds

Kinda ruins the point of the minecraft build the devs used blocks that are immune to the dragon like obsidian and endstone, but when they add a new update I don't see them adding special tags to random blocks for decoration anytime soon

Since you got rid of the obsidian pillars, I would've created obsidian bridges that look like rebar keeping the islands together.

The end being a void, there’s not really wind or rain or anything that would cause the weathering like that, so from a world-building perspective that implies that either the end used to have weather and ended up a void somehow, or that this was a piece of a different dimension that somehow got transported here, and I think that’s neat :)

Might actually make it easier, because when the dragon fireballs you can quickly go into a crack, and the dragons breath will stay down there

Oh boy this takes me back. I remember on a small server I was part of the team that did an over world dragon fight, we had the dragon nest on top of large mob-filled tower surrounded by special end crystal towers that were built to be hard to deal with. Some other guys made some command block magic work with the dragon so that a player could control it and activate custom attacks. Overall it was amazing, and this build reminded me a ton of it, I hope to see more of this in the future!

The only problem with the chains is that they’re made out of iron blocks. Make them out of purpur or something like that. By making them entirely out of iron that’s basically infinite iron for anyone in the server who goes first.

That kinda looks like a takyr that occurs in drylands with clay soils, and I like it so much!

The chains could be made of stone with some moss details, would make it more beautiful and contrasting with The End in addition to not benefiting the player in surreal scales.

There's a modpack called something like The End Remastered, and it does make the fight more intense, including a little ADDED bonus. The end crystals are protected by end stone brick rings, and the center is a temple, the top of which is where the dragon perches.
The first fight with the dragon goes like you expect, but here enters the Savage Ender Dragon. Each time it is killed, it beefs up, getting stronger with more HP and and damage. It starts dropping lightning, becomes immune to ranged damage while perched up top, and even starts summoning mobs in batches. The fight can get truly insane, to the point where no single player can take it on by themselves.
One of the greatest and simplest ideas for the dragon fight was the smaller float lands and some obsidian towers in it, but the chain, it was too much...
i hope he knows that the end pillars are regenerated in their normal positions when the dragon is spawned 😂

There ought to be a huge castle / building for the fight to take place in, you start off with a built castle, and then as the fight progresses the dragons just tearing it to the ground, victory comes in the ruins of the castle.
This feels like it could become a Dark souls boss room

You could also build like a big caste which you first have to fight trough before reaching a fancy bossfight plattform out in the open
