I drive a Hyundai Grand i10 petrol which has the same engine as your Elite i20. I have felt the sweet spot of 1.2 L kappa engine is between 90 to 100 kmph. Car feels less stressed and delivers good FE when driven between 90 to 100 kmph. I have been on a few 600+ kms trips and it typically takes me 9 hours to cover the journey with a couple of breaks . I don't exceed 110 kmph and I usually get between 18 to 20 kmpl on long highway trips. Maintaining high speeds on a puny 1.2 L engine tires people out quicky which then means more breaks. On one of your future trips try to maintain speed under 100 kmph. You will need less breaks and your car will reward you will excellent FE.i feel cruising at 120 kmph and above is best left for 1.5 L and above sedans. Even SUV's are dangerous at those speeds .
Your observations are very correct.
But u should understand that there is a slight more good suspension system is in i20. Which means even if they have same engines, i20 is more stable and less tiresome during those long journeys at high speeds.
I've driven for 300kms on the elite i20 2018 model for 6hrs in bad road conditions, and highways mixed...never ever felt fatigue..infact the NVH is so good you can hardly hear the engine...noisy engines tire you...plus the suspension and weight of the car ensures it's planted and makes you feel secured...light steering adds to the relaxed experience

Hey Rishab, nice to see travelling vlog kind video from you, I suggest you to adopt a good driving position(especially long drives & night rides) as you were seen holding the wheel a ton of weird positions LOL, make sure to adjust your seat properly and holding the steering wheel in 9 - 3 position, so that you won't hurt your hands when airbags deploy( I never want you to go in a collision though), but it is a fact. And you won't feel tired after such a long rides maintaining a good driving position. Looking forward to see you riding more and more. Cheers, keep up the work.

I have done long trip as well.I feel that you need to optimize your speed on which you drive. If you keep your speed till 90 or max 100 then mileage will be 18 plus..
I drove from Bangalore to Goa and it gave me 18.1 as tank average..The moment speed was more than 100 the mileage used to drop.

For ex: in flight Bangalore to Hyderabad 1 ticket cost is 1700 if you travel with 4.then 1700*4=6800.
In car Bangalore to Hyderabad is 570 km.then if you get 15kmpl
Then you need 38 litre petrol

in my opinion 2 times of filling fuel is waste of money.....if u maintain speed between 90 to 100......2500/- rs is enough for fuel.....because we are gng to b'lore to hyd several times by filling the fuel of 2500/-rs....
and one thing i want to tell u is dont go that much of faster like 120 & 140...because in highways if any thing comes suddenly...we cant control our car on 120 & 140 speed....so plzz maintain speed on 90 or 100 we can control our car on that speed...soo dont think bad....ride safe and be safe........
I had drive Banglore to Lucknow by Grand i10 petrol on 5th January 2020 tht is 1940km (Banglore -Kurnool-Hyderbad-Nizamabad-Nagpur-narshingpur-jabalpur-maihar-Kartni-rewa-Prayagraj-raebareli-Lucknow) total time 38 hours with single drive with a speed of 90 to 110 km/hr.. with 1 halt in hotel nd for dinner,breakfast ,snacks , tea ...

Brother I liked ur video coz u didn't lie like others... I hav same vehicle and it doesn't give more than 16.7 kmpl on highway below 90 speed even after 4th service....
Pebbles in the tyre thread can cause that sound. It's the likely cause as u were able to hear it even with the engine off.

nice driving with description... Two years ago, I drove to Hyderabad from Vadakara (Calicut district) with my family by Maruti Swift diesel. It was such a wonderful trip we ever made especially the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway and of course tourist spots of Hyderabad as well as yummy taste of Hyderabad. Thanks Rishabh for reminding of my trip.

100 KPH above 3000 RPM, this is the problem with Elite i20, I Drive my friends car in the same road gets tired upon driving hardly 250 KMS with petrol version..

How come fuel came cost came up to 4k? From Bangalore it is 530km right if ur car gives at lest 15 it will be cost of 2.5k u can go and come back in 4k bro check the milage of the car
