- Closets, clutter, and CATS...a very REAL day in the life of Andy. I've heard it's fun to relax as you watch other people toil away at cleaning/organizing, so put up your feet and hang out with me for a bit while I tackle our downstairs hall closet. 😊 (whilst whitening my teeth) 😁 Also - I'll give you a SNEAK PEEK of my next Fable and I would LOVE to have your input! Stick around to the end and I'll share what show I'm in, and reveal the role I received after auditioning last month...🎭

I remember finding a ‘man doll’ from a family set when I was cleaning in the dark and scary recesses under the stairs. I felt sad that the set had been sold without him. Soon ‘man doll’ was in our community & local buy& sell Facebook pages looking for his family… climbing a chain mail fence, looking in the letterbox, sitting on a bridge contemplating his lost family ….. people really got invested in man dolls quest to find his family! 😂 It was a lot of fun. He never did find them and then because I’m a sentimental loser, I kept him, because we’d had good times together! He’s now in the spare room ….. which needs a big clean out! 😅

I felt it deep. I just returned from my dentist. I have a trumpet no one will ever play. I got rid of legos a year ago (wish I hadn’t so i could gift them to future grandchildren. I have a vintage Sorry set. I have ancestral violins,and other instruments in closets.. I could go on and on but will stop and simply say “the cat paws in the gap were a joy!” 🐈 oh! Thanks for the sneak peek! Bling!💍 No suggestion from me. I have an Ethan Allen white dresser from ten years ago 🫢

Genius! Whitening your teeth while you declutter! I’m stealing that 😏 Very excited for your Villain role!! Growing up I always had dreams of playing the leading lady but over the years I’ve realized villains and other character roles are so much more fun! I hope you can share a few snippets with us of yourself on stage.
As for your next piece, I’m sure whatever you decide to do will be divine! If the veneer is salvageable and all the solid wood is decent maybe something in a two tone stain with a surprise paper inside!

Always need more cats! I limit myself to 4. Would like to see a photo of you in your villain costume and makeup. As for the table, at least the legs and edges wood, I am concerned about what shape the veneer is in, and painting is an option. Maybe you could make eyes for the chicken and cat with the pulls.

Isn't it satisfying to have the closet cleaned out and organized? Do you go back and open the closet door and just enjoy how nice it looks? (That's what I do 😂). Please keep us updated on your role in Mary Poppins. Sounds like fun. Congratulations! I hope you refinish the buffet in a natural wood and paint combination that you do so well. Maybe the doors and drawers in natural wood and everything else painted? Whatever you decide to do, it will be gorgeous.

Oh. My. Gosh. I think I laughed harder at this than I did at some of Painterly and Biffs stories! Every bit of that closet clean-out is spot on for what happens in our house! The goofiness, the stories, the inanimate objects talking, the "where'm I gonna put this?", the "what the...?"

As to "the wooden bride": you know you want to strip it... search your heart- you know it to be true. LOL
I think a multi-tonal wood look would be cool, with maybe a contrasting solid color, or faux-finish (or something else creative) on the top. You could use Re-tique it if necessary. 🤷🏼♀️

Strip the body, change out the hardware, Steam and re-glue the veneer, wall paper the doors, Stencil the inside bottom of the drawers and door areas Paint the top in a dark color, If you found or have some dark paper, a color to match for the top, Chocolate, black, dark brick red (depending on the wood tone or stain. I love your closet clean out.

Last year I cleaned and organized both of my clothing walk-in closets. One of them had a pile on the floor 3 ft. deep I kid you not. It feels SO good now to open those doors and see organization, not chaos. Oh, no more cats. haha

@@vdruskas Try to find a declutter buddy. Maybe digitally or in person. Maybe a good friend of you just feels the same and you could tackle the areas which need it together. It's so much esier if you have somebody with you to keep you on track. And with time it's getting easier. ❤

This is a kind of crazy idea for the white piece but you could cut up a large mural of maybe a forest scene or fairy tale and do different panels on each side and drawers and do a complimentary color or subtle stencil on the top...maybe red riding hood and a cool dark forest on the top. Or a Beatrix Potter mural with pastel muted lake scene on the top. And yes, I remember going to the Z gallery Santana Row in the early 2000's and seeing all the blinged out furniture they called "old Hollywood" with white, gold and mirrored surfaces.

I would either do a painted look with decoupage on the door fronts or a two toned with paint on body and wood drawer fronts and top ..you can make a slice with razor on lifted veneer and iron and steam method to reactivate glue to flatten and hand sand ...I'm doing my closets too😂❤

I too have an ancesteral violin... and a place under the stares where things go to never be heard from again. If it were my bridezilla buffet I would probably be turning it into a vanity. I would strip it and see what the wood looks like, I would either stain the frame and paint the drawers or the other way around.

Good job on the closet. I think it would be worth stripping the paint off and seeing the condition of the wood. It would be nice to give it a fresh coat of paint, if the wood is terrible, and update the knobs. It has a lot of potential.

OMG- as a fellow thespian, huge congratulations on earning the role of "Ms. Andrew" in MP 🥂🥰! As much as I loved (& related to) this video, I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to see how you interpret the sideboard. I have been quite taken with the Pantone color of the year "Peach Fuzz" as an accent; especially when paired with a beautiful navy blue. Maybe this combination is expected but it truly is a gorgeous pairing regardless of which color is the dominant 🤷🏼♀️! With the sideboard I would make the put on a new dark top or make it dark wood looking and take the bling off and put a different type of pool on it but leave the bottom part white.

I love that beautiful cabinet. When you said bride it immediately made me think of Father of the Bride with Steve Martin/Diane Keaton. Maybe you could pattern it after one of the outfits she wears after her wedding, or even from the second movie. Married, but not matronly.

I'm surprised Drea didn't show up to offer her "sage" advice on closet organization. That piece is lovely, the bones anyway. I am ordinarily a died in the wool restore it to it's former glory wood gal, especially if its antique. Only you know if it's worthy of the effort. I've been watching the new IOD release videos, so my first thought is floral and romantic. That would be perfect in my eclectic, fantasy cottage ... the one I'll never have.

Go metallic as in silver and with glass bead gel and raised stencil. New drawer pulls. Metallic in any colour actually would suit this piece.

I think you should save yourself a lot of sanding and just plan on painting the whole thing - maybe 2 tone or black? Can you cut out the bubbles on the top then fill the gaps with bondo? I love the glass knobs - just not on the white but I hope you'll save them for reuse. They're bound to look good on something. Can't wait to see what you do.
