Please, join us at the ice house on Logjam Lake. A pretty cool place, that was built by beavers over 75 years ago. Where under our feet, is eight inches of ice, eleven feet of water, and, a portal, to a whole different world.

My dad passed away last October. Ive got a wife and four kids, a mom who isnt dealing well, 2 jobs, debt, and there just hasnt been a whole lot of time to just be alone and quiet to come to terms with life. All your videos, and this one is no different, when I stumble upon them make me cry because for just a few minutes, I feel peace. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, and God bless you!

I don't know why, but this video helped me reconnect with the memory of my mother. I lost her, my whole world, in 2020 to a high driver. After nonstop panic attacks that nothing could fix, I had to cut her memory out of me to stay sane. Now, even when I want to think of her, I can't quite do it in detail. But tonight, I was able to cry for her. Thank you.

Nothing quite recaptures the warm glow of childhood the way your art does. The world was slower, calmer, more vibrant.
My heart aches for those whose childhoods lacked this, and for those like me who may never recapture this feeling again for themselves.

Born in 84. His videos remind me of my childhood in Michigan. I’ve been going through some things for the last few years and often have dreams about my childhood. His videos capture the essence of that time for me. It’s like the most wonderful Pure Michigan ad that was never made.

The aspect ratio, the sounds, the cinematography is just worthy for a chefs kiss.
I have severe PTSD, Severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Severe Insomnia that medication couldnt help me with and you have helped me to fall asleep the fastest I have been able to in years and have the best sleep that I have received in months due to the calmness thank you for all you do and this is one of the best channels I have personally found to date that I enjoy any time that im overwhelmed!

@@rayswoop4947same!! Also magnesium. A lot of people are low on B vitamins and that can disrupt sleep and less energy (with the symptoms). Anyone with sleep stuff should try magnesium or B vitamins imo (and valerian)

This might be a weird one... I live in a big city, surrounded by noise and pollution. The calming, symbiotic life you live is so appealling. There’s a real UP culture there and if I'm being 100% honest I'm a little jealous.
How realistic that someone would move to UP from another country? I'll never be a part of that culture by upbringing, but to experience it seems so wonderful right now.

Thank you for this video. I could feel my blood pressure lowering as I watched this after a stressful day today. I went ice fishing once in Ontario. It’s a truly unique outdoor experience. Falling asleep listening to the ice cracking was wild.
There's something sacrificial about willingly freezing yourself in time like this. I simply cannot imagine a more fracturing, shattering love than to put your own existence on the line for someone you'll never meet.

this makes me reflect on the small things in life. the things that don’t really seem to matter, but make a world of difference in the end.
I often wonder why it is exactly these videos are so appealing. There are the obvious reasons we all know of course. But I feel there is something deeper at play. As if we are comforted by a familiar feeling of being looked after by someone caring. It’s the feeling I got when I was younger and I would be staying with friends, and a parent would cook for you in a place that wasn’t entirely familiar. Like someone’s holiday house, or at a camp. I can’t quite place it, but it’s along those lines.

Love absolutely everything you are doing with this longer format. My wife and I watch these to help wind down our day. She said “it feels so luxurious because it’s so simple.” And she’s right. Everyone is so rushed. We make things so complicated. We long for the simpler times of our childhood. Like the magic in the Goonies’ eyes when they first see that pirate ship, we long for that same feeling. It reminds me so much of the grandparents I lost too soon.
