I love that Eric didn’t even attempt edit any of ricks bits
Me too. It's annoying.
No one ever does lol
I loved that when Rick tried to be the director, Erik just stared blankly into the camera.
Good to see Steve's brother's friend getting legit ads on the podcast!
PLEASE this comment sent me 😂😂
That freestyle has won me as a fan for life 😂😂😂😭
I love Eric's face when Rick has the singing mic. 🤣
Rick “looks like he lives in an old age home” Glassman
He is an old man with stretched skin like you stretch canvas over the frame
The most struggle “woo woo woos” I’ve ever heard 😂
lowkey ricks freestyle over that beat was heat
Thank you
@@rickglassman you had bars bruh 😂💪🏾
@@rickglassman Your bars in your first appearance were fire too man!
lol Rick is always quietly dropping hard stanzas off the dome
Nothing lowkey about it! I was dying! Lol Some would say equal to Lil Dicky flow.
I love how Rick did his ask the persons name joke but with Caroline’s lol
Lmao
💪
Yall are the dynamic duo we need in podcasting!!! Literally jus went through all of your podcasts together this weekend!! Too funny
Rick wearing a blanket makes it more comfy to watch.
So Comfy!!
That opening made me laugh so hard....both of them!!
Will say, this pod works way better Griff with a guest you jive with.
I concur…
That's cause it gives Erik the platform to bounce ideas off of another person and brings out a different side to him
I do love solo Riffn eps too
but yah love to see Erik's dynamic with different folks
T-pain episode let's gooo 🤞🤞🤞
Rumor has it, Rick and Griff are still debating to this date.
My favorite part is when Griffin looks to Ricky and says “you just like to argue” when Erik was basically arguing w Rick the whole time discounting his point. We are basically on the same page. Hahaha but I disagree 100% 🤣
You guys are great together 🏆❤️
How sweet. Rick has his security blanket
next Erik will be getting him his 🍼 and his 👶🏼
Rick claims Griff was blasting the AC, but we know the truth.
1:01:19 I love the subtle little silliness from Rick. Reminding Griff his name. Cracks me up!
Lmaooo Griffs facial reaction as Rick flows in the beginning hahah
"Flows" 😂
Reactions are absolutely funny. 51:25
They need to make it into a cartoon bit - eriks face and arms crossed is hilarious and ricks rap is dope
Rick is number 1 on the singing mic! 2 mins in and i'm dead already
Rick: "I have a point."
Erik: "I 100% disagree."
hahaha
Eric: You're the one who keeps the argument going!
Rick: Okay
Eric: see ... and thats why.... (continues argument)
Eric handles Rick’s neuroses so much better than others do. He’s such a tolerant, observant and concerned friend🥲
Rick's lucky he has a friend like Erik. Really... Lucky. Lol
*Erik.
Love the chemistry you and Rick have
Rick’s freestyle was so underrated 🔥
I always smile when rick raps.
Please Keep Making Brendan Funny! ALso, you and Rick are Gold!
Thats a lot to ask from griff, Brendan is a disaster when it comes to comedy.
Y don't u ask him to part the red sea while he's at it
You two have the two best podcasts. Love when yall connect 🔥
I think Erik Griffin is awesome and funny as hell, hope to see much more stuff from him. More luck and success to you sir and Greetings from Amsterdam!
Erik's face lol when Rick was singing
Griffin plays off others really well... a co host for this show would be lit
Not for this show but maybe a secondary. I feel like this is strictly his. It can help with his other work. But I like how he bounces off of others. The guests help him pop. But this is good for him I think. He could use more views.
Nearing the one-hour mark and I have to say, I'm very surprised to hear Rick argue so vehemently that it's an audience's connection to a character that makes their response to a given situation funny. Rick is the king of impromptu sketch comedy, routinely reaching deep into his bag for whatever prop or alliterative gimmick might sell a scene. He's his own example, really, of how little an audience needs to know of a character to recognize the humor within a given situation.
Sure, watching one hundred episodes of a series will certainly contextualize the humor. Especially as we become so used to a character's patterns and behaviors that a writer can then subvert our expectations in ways that are especially funny, but ultimately (speaking as a viewer) I find that it's really only my emotional response to characters over time that deepens. The humor is simply the introduction. It's how I first learn that character's beats (in terms of their comedic timing) and how they get a rise out of each other character.
This is what makes comedy so wonderful in the first place is that so much can be read from a single reaction. It's my feeling that you really come to learn more about a person through their sense of humor than through any other means, not to mention the speed in which a human connection is made. Just look at Monty Python and all the characters and scenarios they invented, almost none of which rely on any information beyond what's right there on the screen. Erik is just absolutely correct here... What most people find funny about The Office, when you boil it all down, is its steady supply of awkward or outrageous reactions from simply people co-existing in an absurd environment. It's no coincidence that the show changed its cast of characters entirely from the British to the American version and still remained wildly successful. IJS
As a mixed race dominican born in the suburbs of Detroit your brand of funny speaks to my Soul baby! Thank you primo!
Caroline’s? Caroline’s! They’ll never understand
Idk what's funnier: the intro rap or Erik's face the whole time hahahaha
Rick is gonna have such an OCD attack when he sees the i in his first name is capitalized. 😮
The fact you noticed 😂 Cut from the same cloth
😱
This was great. Where my glassman boppers and tyso goblins
Lmao always loved this duo.
that intro rap by rick was hilarious
58:35 the moment Rick reached peak irony by looking at the camera like Jim explaining to Grif he is being ridiculous
Hell yes, love Glassman and love the both of you together! SCOOT DOOOOOO
Ricky is right on some cases but never seeing the office and only seeing clips, it’s funny seeing them without much context. There are those shows that you can jump in at any time at any season and still enjoy it but usually the first season is slower than other seasons and when I try to get friends on shows, I have to show them clips because they get bored with the first two episodes and are not interested anymore
Thanks Griff for talking about tv shows. I wish more comedy podcast gave tv show rec’s. I’m always lookin for new shows to watch!
Listen to We might be drunk podcast. Lots of recs.
@@harleybqrazy love those guys! That’s where I got the term rec from lol. Thanks though fellow pod fan!
Whahahahahahahahaah, that look Griffin makes when the rapping starts
loved the podcast! got very tense around 53 mins haha. ❤️ big love from your New Zealand gang❤️ keep on smiling Montez!!
Mr. Potato Head visits make-a-wish kid
Erik - re your phone: your correct, the disciple your thinking of is called Reliability Engineering - during the R&D phase every single 'fail' is assessed and a risk grade put against it. The most dangerous risks are obviously designed out. However, functionality is not a danger so depending on what the strategy of the company is...some failures are acceptable and in fact good as the failure will be engineered to last outside warranty - there is statistical probability put into this - and you will most likely repurchase the same brand.
Griff checking his watch was so hilarious
The intro was everything
That ending was epic!!! Loved the episode Griffin!
Great podcast Erik- you always deliver the funny
Ricks rap was fucking great hahaha
I love the blanket bits 😂...Rick looks like a grandma
I wanna see a Jeremiah and Rick rap battle.
Erik does a facial expression at the end when Rick sings like Jim from The Office. lol.
I already wanted to comment just for the algorithm, but since I work for IBM this is now because of the mention of "I don't even know what IBM sells anymore" at 40:00 that's CRAZY!
Great episode! Seen all your guys' TYSO's together. Do more stuff guys.. You two doing a live show together would be really good 🙂 Really appreciate you both! Scoot Doo.
Yesssss another ricky erik duo
You two should start a podcast together
I came here to say this
🎵 Woo woo-woo Woooo! Riffin’ With Gladdish! 🎵
Good shit griff. love what your doin and I know when the podcast universe catches up with the people that like your shit you do well.
I feel like Eric did an excellent job of managing and matching Rick’s energy
Opening was.. so.... good!
Glassman sniffed the blanket.
Edits were on POINT!
“When we do OUR podcast”
I caught that Erik and yes to all that!
“Riffin with you shoes off”
Aye shout me out if y’all use it 😂
Yeah they gonna be like thanks CZcams commenter “you know who, not know” or something like that
@@boosterbrosllc4681 😂 trying to be funny, Erik already sad my name on a live stream and I swear it was like him speaking a Chinese tongue twister lol
@@youwhoknowknewnot2876 lol
Love these two together
Oh boy. Here we go! 🖤🔥🔥
Oh my God, the rap! Lol
Griff is looking like he's getting in shape
This was hilarious! Good work
Rick and Eric have the best dynamic
Apple’s chords like most electronics are made with planned obsolescence written into the contract. Anker or Aukey are some of the best 3rd party manufacturers of batteries/chargers/chords
Griffin has moments where he gives me proper Seth Rogen vibes!
A new found love for the Griff. Gang gang, buzz buzz, griff griff
1:23 Rick going off on the Griffin woo woo woo beat ♨️♨️
Rick is right.
When the viewer already has a built in connection with your characters the jokes land harder, and you can appreciate the moment much greater. It also makes it much easier to keep a sustainable level of quality going forward for your show because that investment is already there. You don't have to work as hard to keep our attention. Whereas with Erik's side it's fleeting. You are incredibly reliant on top notch writing keeping the audiences interest in a show whose characters, stories, or world they do not care about.
_____ staring at the camera after _____ does something, and us laughing because we can relate that? Momentary. Jim staring at the camera after Dwight does something, and us laughing because we can relate to that, AND we know everything about Jim, everything about Dwight, and everything else about that Office and the world building to that point? That's everything.
It's the difference between a show that has one or two funny episodes and is cancelled after the first season, and a show that's on it's 6th season and is a cultural phenomenon. Or to put it in Comedy terms, an act doing a single joke out of context, and an act doing an entire Stand Up routine.
Way to break it down. ;)
Like Erik said its a debate of time. They both technically right. How are gonna connect, first you give it a chance so you start to get invested without really knowing the characters. Once you do build a connection from now being more exposed to the show, you now are even more invested in the characters. Simple!
Eriks face when Rick was free styling was like 😐😑
These two should have a show together.
When NO ONE likes any of your comments because covid is over.
Loved the first Gen2Gen podcast episode Griffin!
That outro was fire 😂
LMAO, Rick roasting the $15 Amazon special mic arms.
Griff, check out the Rode One bro, $99 and it's built like a tank
Love this combo 🥰
What part did Rick auditions for in Umbrella Academy?
Mary Poppins
Did she start watching Empire? Cause that’s usually how it starts 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve turned into a fan! Keep up the good work
Love ya Nate Griffin! Here to support the big dooggg!
I just had this whole long comment explaining this whole story but then I realized I sounded like a weirdo. But long story short months after I watched this, I randomly just thought of Rick asking for a blanket and Eric, knowing it would make Rick comfortable, got him one without making too much of a deal while still joking about it. Honestly don’t know why I randomly pulled this out of my subconscious at 630am 3 months after seeing this; but figured I’d let you guys know, regardless of how weird it sounds coming from a 30yo adult male.
End of pod comedy argument :
Rick: "as long as you know him it's funny"
Erik: "you don't need to know him for funny"
Erik meant literally know him as in knowing the character, the context of relationships, his history etc.
Rick meant metaphorically know him as in know someone like him in your own life.
Done.
I see Ricky, I go clicky
Love everything Erik has ever done. Glassman will never not be annoying
Ah, you suck and don't like humor, huh?
“Oh.. a closet blanket.”
hahahah rick's outro is gold
Only time i watch this podcast is when there is a special guest... glad to see that coming back.
Griffen numbers going up. We all know who to thank for that, Steebbee!
Someone needs to do an intro compilation of guests singing 😂😂🎵🎶
E-dawg n' Ricky talkin dat Hollywood life.
Definitely more of this!!!!!!
Never noticed Griffins Ralph Lawler bobblehead lol. I got the same one, from his last game he announcing. MR. 0H ME 0H MYYYYY
Howd I miss this one? I'm all over it now
Rick Glassman channeling his best inner Loop Daddy there for a second
That's funny...I just got into Marc's videos today and thought Him and rick might might be an interesting and fun combo.
10:28 don’t forget to bring a towel.
Bad friends energy. I like it.
Creative Rick Flare/Flair (too scared of choosing the wrong one). Woo woo woooo.
Flair
