I little more info on this house for you interested, some people who eat lunch at the Houston House on Thursdays have commented that they hear a child's voice whispering in their ear and no one there. I lived in this house for a short time around 1982. My parents helped care for Ms. Houston and Ms. Ruth. I've been looking for pictures of the inside, curious about how my memories would match up. Thanks to Jagged Things, I was able to take a tour. I'm not sure if there really are ghost, but I know when I was 15, there was no doubt in my mind it was haunted.. My parent's room was Mayme's room and my room was way down the hall in the sitting room with the small rooms off of it. I dreaded walking to my parents room, it was sooo scary. I only ventured up to the third floor a couple of times, and always in groups, because I had been convinced by friends that an old man ghost lived there. Even though it was a little spooky, it was a fun place to explore. Did you get to see the door that opened at second floor level to a straight drop outside? Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

How very interesting/freaky/remarkable was it that the picture falls and then ALL the letters that spell FRIENDS fell too!! Wow. Usually doesn't happen like that! The poster that fell was a little unsettling, I have to admit especially when I seen the only letters that fell spelled out friend. It makes me wonder (if done by paranormal) who? Maybe William Harris because I got the feeling he was a bit of a prankster leading me to believe he was the dark figure seen on the third floor. It was like he was trying to pull one over Linda by hurriedly sneaky behind her. After all, he is thought to be the waving ghost. I little extra information that was not in the video (I didn't want to over load viewers with too much info) a lot of the locals that eat there on Thursdays say they hear a child's voice whispering in their ear when no one is there. Who exactly the children are is still a mystery to me. My favorite person in this hotel by far was Mayme. What a sad story she had. Hi, I can't remember (even tho it was only an hour or so ago!!) how I stumbled upon this, but I started watching and got caught up in the story and yes indeed you caught something alright. I was far more enthused than Kate seemed to be! Although, I think she took it as though you were almost asking her to explain what it was and not just recognize that it's exciting for just that reason! Because no one knows what it was! I think Paranormal :) There is no other explanation in my opinion either, and yes, it looked like a hunched over daytime shadow bashtard :) That's why I was excited when later you said "hunched" as that was what I INSTANTLY thought/felt/instinct spoke me. Yes, I do believe it is possible that the dark spirit we saw upstairs was behind knocking the poster with friends off the wall. I got the feeling that the third floor ghost was a bit of a prankster. Makes we wonder if William enjoyed playing pranks when he was alive. We took pictures of the photos hanging on the wall in the dining area and one that was of William's face you can see what looks like a tiny infant sitting next to him. I thought I saw shadows on the other side of that door that closed going from left to right so either someone else was up there or you've caught yet another shadow walking
that's how it looked to me but no one was up there. The only way up there was to take the same stairs we took and we would have heard them walk up the stairs. Also one of the women from the kitchen husband was next to the stairs rehanging the poster that fell off the wall. He never saw anyone else go up the stairs. Thanks for watching 😊
My sister and her husband live in Vandervoort Arkansas, the population is less than 80 hahaha. That looks like what we in the business call a light anomaly, caused by a combination of the light from the window and Linda's position in front of the door and window. Did anyone go into that room with the closing door? Could it have been caused by a draft? I haven't seen anything that couldn't be explained by natural means, such as the light anomaly. It would be interesting to visit and do a set up over an evening or two.
We weren't out to prove or disprove anything. We decided to leave that up to the viewers. We were just there to video it, and then share. We are not paranormal investigators nor have we ever claimed to be. Yes, of course, everything you said is possible. We showed many times what that area behind the door at the end of the hallway looked like. None of the other entries are useable. It was on the second floor. The door is on the first. To get to it from the stairs, you go left and then turn left again. I am not sure where a draft could have came from, if there was one, but again anything is possible. As I said in the video, there have been a couple paranormal investigators there a few years ago. One has video where a drape was opened suddenly but not seen. Others have EVP of children playing, tricycle wheels and something that sounded like chains dragging. This hotel is full of stories, more than I had time to show you. I could go on and on but we will leave that for a live stream. I would love to do a live stream sometime and talk about this house and our findings, answer questions, etc. It is good to get info from those who are real paranormal investigators.
