I'm so impressed with how the Tropheus are coloring up. The entire tank looks amazing Kaity.
Hi kaity , awesome video , the tanks look amazing & looking forward to seeing all your new merch ...🤗
I have had many friends /fish/dogs/cats/reptiles/etc. That bird made me smile. I wish you Joy!
This tank is amazing 👏‼️Both of your tanks are great! 🐠 🐟 are stunning 🤩 love the variety and colors ‼️
Hi Kaity, I'm so glad you're achieving your goals little by little and at a steady pace. I'm sure this year comes with lots of surprises. Your tanks look pretty good; this time my favorite one is the Tanganyika setup because of the little babies. Here in the southern hemisphere is the breeding time for many species, my cichlids are in the same process. I hope you had a nice New Year's Day with your loved ones. ¡Blessings and greetings from Peru🙌!!!
Your Tanganyikan tank is absolute perfection. Hardscapes for the win!
your tanks is so fantastic. love it
Well needed update!!
Your tanks look great! Congrats on your new babies!
Gorgeous setup, nice & cozy, lots of information, my favourite cichlids ❤❤❤❤
Happy New Year to you, the Tanganyikan tank is absolutely my favourite. I have a mixed tank myself which has some malawi along with Mbuna and Neolamprologus Brichardis. Seen some fry recently which i was suprised to see were not picked off so the parents must be doing something right. Its actually quite funny watching the little Brachardis bullying away the larger fish that come near.
Hello, Happy New Year 2024, full of many successes. You have two fantastic tanks there, but I loved seeing the babies, a fantastic vision of life. I appreciated the moment you gave them food.
I liked seeing the t-shirts, maybe one day I will order one for Portugal
Cichlids are so colourful, great tanks
Just let nature does it course! It is really nice to see the parents getting better and better into raising them. :)
Your tanks are fantastic! I kept Africans for years but have since been doing marine and planted biotopes. You're inspiring me to get back into african cichlids. Especially the Tanganyika's
Hi Kaity! Love your videos. Thank you for the updates. I am super excited to see how your Lake Tanganyika tank turns out. I would love to see an video where you interview Finn from Atlas Aquarium about Lake Tanganyika. I saw that he recently traveled there and it would be amazing to hear about the experiences he had and advice he might have with Lake Tanganyika aquariums.
You have my favorite cichlid tanks on CZcams. The setup are is beautiful and just adds to the cichlids. One of my life goals.
Wow thank you so much!! That's such a lovely compliment 😊 I really appreciate it and I'm sure you will have something like this one day too if it's what you want!
Switchin that tank to tanganyikans was the best move both ur tanks r gorgeous love em keep up the good work👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I love Neolamprologus tretocephalus! They have so much character. I love this Tanganyika tank : )
These tanks just look so simple and elegant great tanks!
Thank you heaps! 😊🙏🏼
Happy new year with happy baby fishes🎉

Amazing!
Love watching your videos 👍👍😊
Hi kaity,i would try and catch the babies out and raise them in your quarantine tank.or maybe you could try to put some javamos in that corner of your tank so the fry can hide in it.have a great year and good luck with all your plans, they sound great. I'm already looking forward to watch it all! Oh, and thank you for mentioning AB's Instagram last time!😊
Wonderful aquariums! Keep the fry inside the aquarium. They will probably survive. Love the all the African Cichlids!! I wish I could have a Afican Cichlid aquarium. I would love any type of aquarium. Keep up the hard work! It looks great!!! Hello from Georgia, USA. Happy New Year!! ❤ I love watching your CZcams channel!!!❤😂🎉🎉😅😊
Love your tanks very well taken care of and far as the Mbunas they’re very aggressive love that orange and black and white one
Awesome tanks!
Thank you 😊🙏
Loving your content it got me thinking of getting back into fish knowing that there is so much more help around now
Thank you heaps! And that's great to hear 😊 There's definitely a wealth of inspiration and ideas on the internet now for it
Really enjoy your content think it would be nice to see KaveMan Aquatics and you .
Always like your videos
Beautiful tanks
You have immaculate tanks
tanks look awesome , the trophous are my fav
Glad to hear that you are planning a trip to America. You should consider a trip to Houston, Texas and make sure to visit the Aquarium Design Group, That Aquarium Place and the Fish Gallery.
Beautyfull tanks, i have a malawi one.thanks for your video!
Thank you heaps! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊 and yayyy go Malawi Cichlids 🐟
Layla is wild! Lol. My mom wouldn't let me have a bird 😢 But at least she let me have an aquarium! 😊
Small pond is fun! I added one last year and have two Koi. Golfish are nice but a bit harder to maintain unless you add lots of plants and good filter.
Love your channel
congratulations on your baby.
Thank you 😁🙏🏼
I absolutely love your tanks! What sand do you use?
Perfect ❤😍🐟🐠
I love my Leleupi / Lemon Cichlid and seeing them have babies are great. And it is abit difficult for me to catch them in a net to move them in a grow out tank because they move so fast. And they are living in a 20 gallon / 75.7 liter tank. Hope your babies get a chance to survive with all your cichlids. Plus watching mine grow and seeing the color change is nice.
Awesome video , what do you feed them ?
Cyprichromis-sardine cichlids. Get a few more so you can have a school, they swim in groups like their saltwater namesakes. Been awhile since I watched your videos. Just built a 125g Tanganyikan tank as well. I stacked rock along the back with round river rocks, but I put egg crate on the bottom where they are, placed the rock, then poured in sand. Im keeping multis and brichardii, and working on getting leleupi, a featherfin trio, and some Julies. Avoiding the predatory fish that you have. I breed fish and trade them to the store usually for credit which usually gets immediately burned on food. I have an overflow and a 40g sump and without fail even bottom dwelling small fish end up in there making them easy to catch and toss into a grow out tank. Now if only the multis- would move out of the rocks and into the shells that outnumber them 3 to 1.
I find it interesting about your Tropheus. You dont normally see them in community tanks. I might have to get a few in the future when things calm down a bit.
Shew. Hope she sees brians newest video. Prayers
My cichlids had some fry roaming around after i got them at the pet store. So far ive had 6 survive and theyve gotten pretty big and I think I also have some breeding going one under the rocks and theres always two of them down under the rock. Theyve dug all the way to the glass. The digging is insane they just shovel the rocks like little bulldozers. Majority of the rock is texas holey rocks and yes its heavy even the small ones are heavy and it scares me with all the digging😅 I hope some of yours grow up to be big, its pretty cool watching them grow up.
Love the channel, and your setups are awesome! Personally don’t have African cichlids, but your content really showcases their personalities.
Also, I’m a big fan of just letting the fry survive if the survive. Caring for fry is time consuming, and the parents can eventually learn to care for them on their own
Kaity, your tanks are so beautiful! I think you should temporarily section off part of the tank with the breeding pairs with some type of partition to allow the fry to grow up. Sucking them up with a turkey baster is pretty hard.
Thank you heaps! That's not a bad idea at all, I might consider doing something like that at some point in the future :)
Good job on realizing you had a bird on your shoulder lol I’ve literally went out to my car and all the way back in the house with my African grey on my shoulder without paying it any attention. Literally sat there for 5 minutes like 😳 when I realized what I’d done
Omg!! That is totally something I would do, thankfully I haven't done that with Laila because I think she would probably fly off lol. Luckily your guy stayed on your shoulder!
Collab with Cichlid charmer & cichlid bros
Witam serdecznie dziękuję za pokazanie super piękne akwaria I rybki podziwiam pozdrawiam z dalekiej Polski miłego wieczoru życzę
Great video Kaity. fantastic information . i think it would be a good idea in the breeding . my thoughts are add some more stone in the breeding area's creating coverage for fry . a pond is a great idea . fish? i think would be your preference in what catches your eye. I have in my pond's a selection of non fancy gold fish , shubunkin are my favourite in my opinion they have a better chance of survival not knocking the fancy gold fish some look great but are harder to keep alive due to the way they are breed. Thankyou again Manny from Perth 😊
Can’t wait for the mugs to come out I’ll buy the set. Will you be shipping to the United States and again I love your channel.
Hi kaity u r doing very awesome....i love cichlids,,love from pakistan....
Love the video, you mentioned going to see the legacy aquarium, did you see Brian’s goodbye video today. So heartbroken to hear he is in hospice care, such a beautiful man sure wish I could have met him.
Thank you!! Yes I saw it. It's so so sad, he is an incredible person. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones at the moment 🙏🏼
Both of your tanks look really great the fish are nice and healthy, I would leave the babies in the tank.
I love everything about afs i been keepin them for about 12 yrs now im not tired of them i started w a mixed mbuna peas haps tank in 2012 in a 90 then i switched to just peas & haps in 2018 in the same 90 but recently i had to toss that 90 for a 110 cuz the brace cracked
Guppies and endlers do really well outside, especially in green water. The algae makes their colours pop
Guppies will eat mosquito eggs and larvae aswell.
Your 'Tret's' are doing great as are all the fish in that 'Tang' tank...It will be interesting to see if the tret's behaviour changes once they reach maturity as they can be a pain in the backside with others and each other once adult!
Yes it'll definitely be interesting to see how they go over time! Hopefully they stay nice but we will see 😂
Whats lights and bracket are being used on the tank with the white base? Thanks, great video!! Also, where do you find that bracket for those lights?
Definitely should colab with Aquarium Coop, The new store edition should be done by then.
nice
hi kaity! loving your tanks almost as beautiful as you! thanks for sharing as always ! stay safe dear! many blessings! i absolutely love the predatory haps!!! just be careful mixing them with mbuna! their diet, tendencies and behavior are very different! i dont want yours getting bloat! from my experience yellow labs in particular are super hardy for mbuna and last forever even when not on strictly vegetarian diet as they supplement with natural growing algae howver in my experience it definitely does shorten their life span by quite a bit! id definitely keep that in mind!
edit: also the presence of females in a mixed african tank is definitely going to off set your tanks balance! the size of your tank is likely doing you alot of favors! id for sure keep an eye on the aggression! definitely better to have an All male tank or you may start having fins getting ripped and scales torn off which can lead to disease and weakened immune systems all factors which effect the long term stability of your aquarium! i would keep an eye on the breeding and keep it under control , protective parents have a tendency to take over the tank
You need a fry tank I love your channel from South Carolina
Hi, the red/yellow tail one is called sardine cichlid. As some one already suggested should be kept in a group. If you out 3/4 females the male will start doing the breading ritual which is pretty cool to look at.
As for the babies, apart from the other fish you have clavus and compressiceps they are ruthless so you might get one or two babies survive if they are lucky.
They are called Cyprichromis probably leptosoma variant best in large groups. They suffer from wasting desease he’s probably the last one out of a big group why she got given it
The darker rocks Look good on the light colored sand. Any plans to add julidochromis? They'd look good sneaking in and out of them rocks
Your aquariums are very great looking. I was curious what your water parameters are in each tank. Could you share? Or, if you have a video about it, please share it. Thanks
My cichlid tank has a thick plant life that allows the young fry to hide once they get courage enough to explore. I have 140 gallons, and over 40 pairs of cichlids, they young all servive.
I would love to see you collaborate with Father Fish!
Hey Katie, beautiful tanks. Question: have you ever had bubbles come up from your deep sand substrate?
Thank you so much 🙏 I have! I have never had any issues from it though
Are you going to add some Synodontis Multipunctatus "cuckoo catfish " to the Tanganyikan tank Katie? They are Tanganyikan after all and would look cool
I think an endler guppy pond would be cool and it be easier to look after then goldfish and if the pond is small enough you could throw a little heater in if it gets to cold
If you're having aggression problems with the chiclids rearranging the rocks can help . Lovely bird I thought it was a peach faced lovebird morph I bred them 30 something years ago
Arkadaşım çok güzel olmuş nazar değmesin
Brian is now in a hospice.
Hi ! nice tanks you have there. Do you have any problems as for feeding ? since Frontosa are more proteins based and Tropheus all veggies ? cause I was going o buy 8 to 10 of them to add with my 3 Frontosa this week-end but I saw a few video who discourage to mix them because of that. Do you have any problems related to that and if you dont what are you feed them (community) ? Thank you for your video find them really helpful.
If, and when you come back to America. I would say try to. collaborate with aquarium co-op. I’ve been following them for years.
Great setup. What's the name of the blue ones who have babies?
👍
You enjoying your tang tank more than your other tank now?
I would leave the fry just like the wild the strong will survive 👍🏼 it's all a learning curve my tropheus use to be lucky to keep one fry now I have to many 😅
did you see the fry net I think its called, it looks like a bag made of a fine like screen material, so you can put over fry and leave them in tank. Looks to be about a 14x14” square, on the label it says in I’ll keep the fry in the tank and I’ll keep other fridge for eating them till they get to a good enough size, live your water boxa tanks its 😊 the Benzo of fish tanks. Come with Lorenzo, chilling in the benzo.
If you're visiting Florida there are a lot of fish tuber's there who collect invasive ornamental fish camp Kenan has a chiclid pond
I love the altolamprologus compressiceps golden head…but they are Tanganyika cichlids
Hi Kaity, i was wondering which tropheus are the orange ones? I have one but don't know its official name! Also, I have a very similar set up with mixed tang cichlids including three tropheus. I try to feed a algae based diet so to avoid bloat. I was wondering what you feed your tank so that the more carniverous tangs also get adequate nutrition?
Are south american chiclids as widely available in Australia as the africans? That's the next thing on your cichlid journey, would need a pretty big tank for a school of oscars tho lol...
also a nano tank of shell dwellers is very fun
Krásné akvárium, mám doma taky i papouška,ale je to nezbeda!😊
Co máte za papouška?
Are there mini-cameras that can be incorporated into the tank in prospective nesting areas?
I will remove them out , or when you have an idea when they got fry then remover the parents and then you can add them again definitely try to save them why not . I love the shirts 👚 and I will buy one as well . Keep up the good work tanks are doing well and I will definitely do a pond
I've just changed my rainbowfish/turtle tank to a peacock tank ( turtle died😭 husband took the Rainbowfish) so I'm now a African Cichlid keeper, not sure how I feel about it yet lol. It's funny how u just get a feeling when the tank is your style. My husband had some Red Forrest jewels breed in a community tank. After the fry kept getting picked off a few times he used the syphon hose and sucked them into a bucket and transferred them into a small cycled tank. There ended up being about 15 that went to a local fish store.
Yay for African Cichlids!! 🐟 That's so true. I'm definitely a simplistic, fish focused, bright colour person. Whereas some people are totally more into the naturalistic styles. That's the best part about it though, you can really make it your own!!
blue flash, is new singular fish
I would try to get 5 or 6 babies out of the tank and raise them. Your turkey baster idea would be the least disruptive way of getting them out. Leave some for the parents to learn on.
Can you create a little private section for the babies in the tank so they can grow in that tank?
Do any synodontis species work in a Malawi or Tanganyika? Like S. multipunctatus?
Any interest in adding anything other than cichlids?
Should try to spot feed the fry some baby brine shrimp?
Hi kaity I have a question...what kind of sand do you use?
I think you try to raise some fry as a hobbyist it'll be a great project
How’s water is so clear , pls tell me what filer you using
