      Free refills to me are “I order one drink and it gets replaced by a fresh version of the same drink by the waiter/waitress whenever I ask them to as a matter of course”.
      The Japanese drinks bar as I experienced it is “you pay one price on the menu, and with the honor system, you go over to the soft drink/coffee bar and get yourself as many refills of your drink that you want.”

      Hi,I'm Italian!👋🏼It's nice to say that in Italian restaurants around the world they cook very good.I just wanted to explain to you that it's normal for spaghetti carbonara to have cream sauce. Everyone has their own recipe. It's the same for me, they could put anything in the carbonara for me:lard,onion,bacon...it just needs to be a carbonara.Famous Italian chefs have different recipes: many use the sauce made with pecorino and yolks(and someone likes parmesan in it),but many also have a variant with cream sauce.Honestly, I think that the way they served it to you, however, is in a fully Japanese style, in Italy they don't put the yolk on the side.I would love to try that kind of Japanese-Italian style carbonara,it looks interesting(and tasty!)🍝🇮🇹Ciao!!!

      I might be wrong but it seems to me that most Japanese pizza isn't often what westerners (in North America or Italy) would think of as a conventional pizza. It definitely seems like its own thing in Japan. Not bad or anything but very different.

    • @upg5147
      @upg5147 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@grawman67 I don't think I really agree. They don't do anything that is very different from a traditional. It's flat bread, tomato sauce and cheese.
      They just tend to do things that a traditional wouldn't such as a very undercooked undercarriage and little to no cheese and sauce. The spices are there, but lacking, like everything else.

    • @grawman67
      @grawman67 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@upg5147 Ahh, I see. That's why I said I may be wrong. I know some Japanese pizzas have unconventional toppings like corn and other things so it gave me the impression of largely being pretty different from western ideas of pizza besides the general idea of a baked crust with sauce and toppings. Thanks for clarifying for me!

    For those wondering, in Italian _and_ French (and probably a bunch of other Romance languages), "buffalo" actually means the same thing as the English word "cow" (probably it means bull instead of cow, but that's just a detail). So, any tume you read that Mozzarella is made of "buffalo milk", bear in mind that it's made of _cow milk_ but the translator half-assed the job instead of doing it correctly.
    Also, the reason we call "American Bison" buffalo is because a Frenchman saw them before any other westerners, so he called them by his language's word for cow. Rather appropriately as it turns out, since the only real interfertility problem is that normal cattle are only half the weight.
