How are you enjoying this boat 4 years later? We are looking at getting one. Any major dislikes or issues you have had?

Hi Arron, 4 years later we are still enjoying the 280CC-x. Everything has held up well, 1 change of the 3 batteries, 2 tuneups that's about it. My son used some a phrase that can sum of the capability. Dad, this boat can handle bigger seas than you want to be in. We are 100% offshore fisherman and have been caught in several storm situations that were pretty rough, boat handled very well, secure we only lost one filet table in maybe 40mph winds, just blew out of the rod holder. The other thing to take into consideration is fuel consumption these days. We just ran about 18, then 30 or so miles offshore fished all day with both engines running drift after drift and used approximately 30 -35 gallons of fuel. Hull likes to run at around 28-30 MPH, although we have never ran her WOT, around 3/4 throttle or so she will run in the low 40s. That is with 3/4 full (150 gallons of fuel), full water tank, 5 adults, 2 children, 100 lbs of ice and probably 200-250 lbs of tackle, coolers and safety equipment. We have been 50-60 miles offshore and one of the nice things is not coming home beat up from pounding. Running back from a day of fishing its nice to see the family sitting up in the bow comfortably on the way in. We do move everyone to the stern in and out of the inlets, that's primarily for safety. Forums discuss roll in a cat, it does happen on occasion, just takes a little experience learning the boat and trim of the engines. In conclusion we are very happy with our purchase. One other item that is very important. The folks at WorldCat have never let me down. They are responsive, helpful and always there if you need them. I would call them the WorldCat family, one of the reasons in addition to loving the motorcycle I ride a Harley Davidson, same situation at any dealer you stop at. Its always a welcome. Hope this helps and if you need any more information, please reach out. Good Luck to you and let me know what you decide. :) Happy Boating.

George, thank you for the very helpful reply. You provided some wonderful insight that will certainly help us with our decision. We are in a very similar situation. We love offshore fishing. We're over in St. Pete FL and have about an 18 or so mile run down the peninsula before we can start to head offshore and then typically run around 30 miles off. We are in a smaller vhull so I am really looking forward to the minimal pounding of a cat in those longer runs. Thanks again for the great info and I'll post a comment letting you know how we ended up. Have a great day and happy boating!
