It’s easy to forget how scary the walkers were in season 1 & 2
Season 1 and 2 was proper horror
its so weird too how the first two seasons walkers are so fast and terrifying, then theres 7 seasons of slow walkers then the 10th season brings it all back, but for some reason most people forget about the first season walkers.
Everything revolved around the Walkers, all the sad and terrifying scenes have to do with the Zombies :)
@@jennessamonet4972cause most of them started watching it yrs later after the show stopped being good
It's really scary to think how god tier twd could of been if it wasn't with the cheap assholes amd who fire showrunners to save budget and fire main characters like carl the second he turns 18 to avoid paying adult rates.
Andrew Lincoln is an incredible actor. Watching it like this you can easily see how cold Rick became from season to season in his eyes. He portrayed that effortlessly
I mean thats true but he also got alot older. When was the first ep of twd? Like 10-12 years ago?
@@azerty123456475Age happens to everyone! But that has nothing to do with an actors ability, to play the hell out of their character. I can't wait for his and Michonne's spinoff to finally hit the screen. I guarantee to you Andrew, doesn't miss a beat in giving us that Rick Grimes performance, only he can give!!
Right, you can even see a hint of what he's capable of when he's like "To hell with remorse" after finding Guillermo's group... It would've been a nice thing to look back on after seeing Ricks full character arc/potential
@@texasjaco9385 the mini series was pretty lame but andrew lincoln didnt miss a beat like you predicted
@@chrispember172 Damnit, I was hoping it was going to be good. I always wait until the season is over and then I watch it, I'm a binder type of gal. I don't like having to wait an entire week to see what happens next. I have a couple of series to finish up before I start on this one. But now I'm disappointed, because I have a feeling I will be agreeing with you. I watched Maggie and Negans spinoff already, but I wish that he was doing it by himself. I've tried to make myself like Maggie's but it never works, I just can't stomach her and wish it was her killed off instead of Glenn. She such a hypocrite and constantly plays the victim, and acts as if she doesn't have to forgive and move the hell on already. She's killed other woman's husbands, family, and friends. It's a different world , I could see her side more had she not been ruthless as well and never killed people, just walkers. She expected other people to get over their pain of loss when it benefits her and "her people". Look how many innocent followers of Negans she killed, a lot of them had absolutely no choice and were bullied into following him. I was so sick of her on TWD, I sure as hell didn't want more of her. But I'm a Negan fan so I regretfully watched, and it was the same bullsh!t with her. If it gets a season 2 and the writers don't do away with her grudge, I won't be watching it. That storyline is old drama, it's so dry and beyond played out, it needs to go. I haven't watched Daryl's yet.
I really wished they had kept the first scene, I feel like it would have been entertaining to see the group struggle instead of always magically finding a place to settle. seeing the other group's death and knowing a human was behind it would've been a great call back for when Randle's storyline is brought up and would make more people understand why Shane was so hellbent on killing him
It does, but at the same time, I personally feel glad they left it out. I always wondered why they wouldn't just go back to G's camp early on in the season, but after a while(while rewatching the entire series) I figured later down the line they most likely didn't survive.. and truthfully, I'd rather have that part left off the show itself so the last thing we see when it comes to G and his group is they are good people and hopefully doing well.
I kind of agree in a sense, but why I wanted to be added is to have a real conflict on who to side with as this gives Shane some kind of right to want the boy to be killed as he saw what potentially have been his group did to G and his group, or rick who is still sticking to his humanity. @@michael7264

seeing them actually struggle and ration food is really cool and something severely missing in the show
The show shows them struggling for supplies later in seasons. They go out far to find food and supplies but come hardly back with anything so they raid another place people live at and kill most of them.

The fact that 0:00-15:00 is deleted is downright criminal. Especially comparing it with how the show ended and looking back to how straightforward and compelling the sequence is with the layer of terror the early seasons had. Amazing
They definitely should've kept the scene of daryl cooking andrea that was funny. "Observant" LMAO
Where?
Agreed, only problem with the scene to me is that you have two cops sitting there who probably would've noticed the wounds before he did
He's a hunter; Being a cop doesn't make you a genius. He joked about being an undercover.@@ericlucas1
Yeah but Shane and Rick probably noticed but didn't mention the wounds because they didn't want to freak the women and children out more. Daryl ended up firing back at Andrea beacuse she was outwardly insulting him and tensions were high. Therefore, it isn't much of an issue that Daryls the one who mentions it rather than Rick or Shane.

Season 3 was the best one so it truly doesn’t matter. The downfall of the show was sticking to formulas and killing off expensive actors
@Angel-Otk well a lot of the actors quit to do other things though
This actually explains a lot. Why Sofia ran from the walkers on the highway. This scene is horrifying. Also my Andrea is so angry at Dale because she had to see all that. Great episode they should have never cut these.
Fr alot of it is hard to get because we didn't get to see this
Well in the released cut its already understandable. She was always scared of walkers and seeing a herd terrified her and she came out too early
It's such a shame the first scene was cut. Not only was far more involving that a lot of the later bullshit drama at the farm (perhaps some of those segments could have been cut to make room for this, with the first episode becoming the second) but It also had some very important moments:
1. It showed their quest for a lot of the supplies they had later on, as well as the things they did'nt had, like fuel, but it show they still went back. It also was a nice change of scenery, considering how little we saw of the city and how stale the countryside would get in season 2 onwards
2. It showed more interesting dynamics between the group, like frictions between Daryl, Andrea and Carol. The love Carl had for shane and Lori balancing her inner feelings.
3. It actually showed some semblance of caring and relation between Carl and Sophie, since they were the only kids at that moment.
4. It very cleverly foreshadowed the later reveal that everyone's infected, and that's the reason the Asylum got overrun and everyone had bullet holes in their heads
Yeah it's really a shame that it got deleted, as you said it gives much to the story. And a lot of people still wonder if the Vagos are still alive.
Yeah I feel it gives Daryl more character and it also gives more context to why Shane was so hell bent on killing Randall it wasnt just him being crazy he had sensible reason to want him gone
Also as daryl stated people's did it not a walker
The Drama at the farm wasn't really that bad.
Also one of the well best deserved Andrea put down
I still believe the Show runners missed a huge opportunity not allowing Carl and Sophia to grow up together and survive long into the show…
The actress who played Sophia was having nightmares and her parents took her off the show. I think they should've maybe recast the character. But i agree with you!

If I remember correctly, it was alluded to that the Governor and his posse were responsible for the massacre at the nursing home. It was the same trip that they found/rescued Merle. Part of what made the Governor so scary; he'd find a reason to perceive a threat, snap, and massacre innocent people, but take in a stray like Merle.
He took in merle because merle cut his own arm off and showed that he was a capable warrior for this world.
Loved the audio of the early seasons ... the way you could hear flies buzzing around the dead.
Ikr!
yeah I also really like that they chose not to use a lot of music, it makes many scenes feel more raw (especially ones in nature)
it's incredible what a talent Steven Yeun has developed into. Always liked him but he rly improved every year, by S4 he had really come into his own. Everyone's probably familiar with his Oscar-nominated Menari but he did a film not long after his time on TWD called Burning (2018) and he's absolutely magnificent.
Not to mention Sorry to Bother You, Nope, and new information after your comment, a Golden Globe Best Actor win for Beef. And yes, Burning was wild.
That scene with the whole gang eating outside in Alexandria is the ending I pretend happened after they got rid of the walkers in season 6. Such a beautiful scene with Abraham and Sasha having their own child too, loved those characters
Fr
After watching it all, and the spinoffs, I will probably join that delusion. Seeing Glen happily playing with Herschel hit me straight in the feels, he probably deserved to live and be a father more than anyone in the whole show
@@HeroicEvil13 yeah the thing is Glenn had far greater potential than Maggie. Like can you imagine this innocent pure man gone Rick mode after Maggie dies, I would have preferred that far more than what was done
@@LoverIsaDayy oh damn, picking one over the other should be criminal - but I get the vision lol. I always felt he was more emotional than her too so his rage would be crazy, Daryl would probably feel extra guilt too and their brotherly dynamic would be more interesting and dark. I doubt Negan survives either unless Glenn gets himself killed.
Unless they made it so he didn't know Maggie was pregnant, then maybe we could still get Negan's character growth
If you didn’t know, It is implied that the Governor killed them, as not only were Rick's weapons that he left with them there in his office, but at one point he mentions meeting Merle at some point, which makes me think he met Merle in Atlanta and took the truck to take him to Woodbury.

I think we figured this out when she killed her sister n started to name and feed the walkers lol
It would have been great if they kept her around and had her start dating a walker. (When she matured of course) Then marriage and a walker child. Then they could have spent a season running away from her as she tried to introduce her walker family to everyone.

Ive seen Walking Dead at least 20 times and just started watching from Season 1 agajn yesterday! Ive never watched any show more than once besides TWD so these deleted scenes are refreshing and gave me some new insight for questions ive had. I miss this smiling season 1 Glenn. Also Andrea got roasted by Daryl.
they really did carl and beth dirty by cutting out their scene of carl confiding in her 😭 that was such a sweet scene that really developed both of their characters
I'm convinced they are insane. Like 29:00 would have shown more depth to Carol, shows where she developed one of her most useful battle tactic, and would have been epic to have seen officially. These cut scenes provide a bit more context (filling in some of those off screen moments), and show more depth to their characters. What were they thinking when they decided to cut these out😭.

its always mentioned from the comics but still cool to see they attempted it once in the show.

The scene with Merle & Carol was sooooo telling of Carol! I wish that scene had been left in. I love that she already knew what she was capable of! Go Carol! #TeamCarolForever
The scenes about Guillermo’s group is probably one of the best scenes I’ve watched from this show. Absolutely brain dead to leave that out.
It’s cause they were whimping about Darabond asking for more budget and decided to fire him and bury his legacy with this decision
Even though those scenes were cut out, we at least later on discover that Guillermo's group was killed off. Season 3, I believe, 'Clear'. It's nice that they still circled back and gave some sort of closure.

So I just realized the deleted scenes for season 8 were put back into the episodes for the Blu-ray, which is why it isn't an extra. It just doesn't include the 2 bonus scenes (Michonne finding Deanna's plans in the ruins of Alexandria & a slightly extended version of the final battle).
So despite not being indicated, it's possible the deleted scenes have been restored to the episodes for seasons 10 and 11. Season 10 had a handful of extended episodes for AMC+ members, but they were only streaming for a limited time and there's zero mention of them anywhere. It's possible they are included on the home video releases, but I haven't gotten there yet.
Carl hugging Shane was adorable
45:03 Oooo my God how did they cut most of this part out!!!! At least we would have gotten a glimpse of them doing something besides them eating KFC! Seeing Glen actually playing with Herschel, Sasha and Abe cuddling with her being pregnant and everyone just having a lovely summer day would have been everything. Even if they thought they were out of time, there’s no way they should have removed this scene. They could have shut Negan’s yapper. Or cut out parts of the RV scene. What an absolute tragedy. Seeing this could have lessened the blow of them brutally killing 2 of the best characters.

Carol turned into such a psychopath in later seasons. If Sophia had survived, then Carol would probably have treated Sophia in later seasons just like Alpha treated her own daughter.
@TheBob1901 doubtfully of Sophia survived I believe it would have been easier for carol to hold on to her human side imo her two biggest phsyco moves was burning up those two at the prison and threatening the kid at alexandria
@@TheBob1901I doubt she'd treat her as such considering her death is what pushed her into her big character development, and that's why she'd reference it to Mika and Lizzie a few times. I was just rewatching twd and made it to season 8,2 where morales comes back for a brief moment and then thought of Gualiermos crew and wondered why they never brought them back. Well now we know 😂
Most of these delete scenes like the first one really do take from character development
1:Daryl being the only one to figure out they were attacked by humans and not walkers, the look Rick gives him was the start to the bromance, along with Carl calming Sophia down showing he’s always been brave
27:30 and 27:57 shows Ricks Infancy as a leader he was a good leader but that whole mental break he has kinda highlights that he really is
30:22 oof Morgan
“Observant” 😭😭😭😭😭😭
this literally popped in my head like so they did go back to them
Many thanks😊
Some good stuff here but they kept when andrea and her sister was on the lake talking about thier dad like that has ote to do with anything 😂
I’ll edit this maybe later but they should’ve kept the Merle and Carol because this shows some people still treat Merle like a person instead of a walking angry dog
Honestly the scenes like at 11:00 when the group is discussing what's next and trying to plan ahead is what I miss about the early seasons. I know its nothing major but it just adds a bit more to it, adds a bit more to the characters. I guess you get the feeling they're actually struggling to survive.
The most important scene they should’ve kept was when Carl was telling Beth about. It believing in heaven because it would’ve made so much sense why Carl helped Siddique and led to his death was the satisfaction of killing the dead so their souls could go to heaven which would’ve been cool to add
Siddique was a waste
Who the hell decided to delete the first scene? It's just perfect
I can rest peacefully after seeing that season 1 deleted scene
This something we needed to see
18:00 this scene honestly put so much about Dale’s character into perspective. It wasn’t that he simply wanted to hold on to a semblance of humanity, he wanted to convince himself that humanity wasn’t a mistake.
Most of these scenes should have stayed.
The first Woodbury scene is definitely better off deleted though. It's way too obvious that they're comically evil in this version.
OMG that hospital scene had so much great character development and infection forshadowing. And I ALWASYS wondered what happened to them and why they never went back. Now I know.
i really liked the dale and lori talk. it was short but it showed them two trying their best to support and keep the group afloat the best they can. i liked the see that duo team
Damn these were some great scenes. We missed out on some great momnets
