It was great to have hubby on the podcast. I'm sure many people both men and women can relate to what he shared about the challenges of struggling with your past, how to counteract those thoughts with God's truth, parenting etc. Now that I think about it, perhaps next time when you invite him on, you guys can talk about what he does to encourage men whether single or married like himself through his 4:8 Men podcast 👏👏👐
I'm sure I can speak for many of us ladies here that we definitely appreciate if our men work-out to stay healthy and strong but nothing more important than strengthening the spirit for sure! We need more of that now than ever before. Mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually God-fearing men willing to step into their God-given roles and have rock solid families built on the Rock-our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is a full-blown attack on families and we as Christians must stand our ground and spiritually intercede on their behalf.
Thank you so much Sadie for sharing this wonderful podcast and reminding me (although not married yet) that marriage makes us holy in the way it calls us to be like God in our interaction...overlooking offenses, imparting mercy, in extending forgiveness, in displaying compassion, love and grace...in refusing to be petty. Thus, the great sanctifying challenge of marriage is not so much to fix one another, as it is to do ALL things as unto God, to imitate Christ, our King, the Savior of our lives. HE is our standard.
So, my fellow brothers and sisters here on CZcams, let's keep moving in life with our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. All praises be unto Him!
Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and goodness in spite of us. Thank you for the gift of life. Life is beautiful yet challenging and plain rough at times. This is awesome you guys cut out screen time! I think that incorporating fun things for them to do quietly alone would also be helpful. For example reusable sticker books, knitting, practicing an instrument, or coloring! Keep at it Sadie! Your blessing your girls by limiting/stopping screen time.

We are sooo excited to have our first kid and we don’t want tv incorporated with kids and play outside. The tough time for us will be winter. Also you don’t know what ads are coming up or what language or what personality the tv show is portraying. So it’s best to keep it away from them.
Last winter was my first one with my first daughter. Where I'd take her when we'd feel stuck inside was the library! So many resources for kids to play and have a good time and in the warm or ac in the summer while we sit with a good book :)

And if you download the videos they ONLY get to watch the videos you choose.

Easier said that done, but the weight of shame and guilt should come to this. If you were to put that shame and guilt on your child or both of your parents. Or they would be putting that weight on themselves, what would you tell them? I think it is very healthy that Christian is being by told by someone who wants him to be his full self that he isn’t what he was. We all need people like that whether it be Christian or Sadie, anybody really. I say all this because I struggle with my past as well. Praying for ya’ll.

When you say “screen free”, does that mean no apps, but yes to texting/phone calls/email or no screen at all unless you get a phone call? I’m only asking because everyone’s version of “no screen time” is different. Also, if you do that no screen time is it only for a certain time of day?
Isn't there something in the Bible about "exposing the thigh is nakedness"? It's in the OT. I read it decades ago. Along with swearing an oath by touching the thigh? (I don't know how to square that.) If it's not weird one way, it's weird the other way for sure. Not the sort of thing one forgets, unless one is prone to glossing over. Maybe that's a topic for next week. If gals shouldn't be doing something - well, what do we make of guys?
I have never heard ANYONE examine that verse - or most others, even Ps 22 chapter (tbh, when I first read that chapter on a bus to work in the morning, I honestly was amazed at my solo discovery. I felt like God had lined up that coincidence only for me (like, nobody else has noticed this? Nobody around me ever talked about it - and not on the radio, either!). So much for the church's ... non-written culture in the last century (great on personality, not so deep on theological articulation).
It was said long ago, well after the printing press & Bible translations, that one could find multitudes of men willing to fight for the Bible in actual wars, but not many would read it... I've not yet read it straight thru. Takes disciplined scheduling & follow thru, man! Makes me think. Yeah, men like contests and they like to be sly and challenge others. But how well do they know what the contests are about when ideological factions are getting all agitated and bum-rushing everyone into sided conflicts? (Quick. No time to think. Some shock jock is trying to provoke an army, somewhere. I can be relaxed about things...but then there is r-e-l-a-x-e-d... like Christian. I'm not sexist or anything - don't all men want to be "manly men". But I am, and aspire to be, more Sadie in temperament than Christian. That's how I relate. I didn't spend too much time in California, or on the beach with the surfer dudes, or anything. More time in books & TV & church gatherings. Ok, 2c completed. I wonder what Christian has to say for himself.)

Yea there’s a red flag with that. I’m sure he’s kind yes. But he did say a couple things that kind of made me side eye him a little bit. For instance, I know it’s in good fun, but him saying she had to post a reel of her singing opera lol if she didn’t hit the home run, just didn’t seem right to me. She’s already posted something super fun & adorable before with that Beyonce song & she got made fun of for that.. so.. Idk, just something about their exchange about the home run didnt sit right with me. But idk, like I said he does seem nice. Probably a little critical.
