Some are so subtle that people do not recognize it as corruption: they give it a euphemism: ‘the old boy’s network’, for example. That is corruption. Some call it nepotism. That is also corruption. Take the Roman Empire. It was brought down by internal corruption. Any rich Roman person could become king purely by bribing the Roman Army. So we have to be ever watchful. If we stop fighting corruption, no matter how feeble our efforts are, corruption will wipe out a nation.
How about our new economic policies? Was proposed for 20 years, ending in 1990. Every major economic sector given to a monopoly, and monetised by politicians. The country’s economic foundation was built by the British colinisers on the back of immegrants blood sweat and tears. Mahatir singing anti colonial songs, sidelined the immegrants with pro Malay economic policies. Benefitted himself, his cronies and his children. 66 years have passed of Malay rule, the majority of the Malays are still poor.
