Don't compare the performance with Great Kishore Kumar. Here Ustad ji sang the song in his own style which was really amazing.I listened this sing sang by So many singers . This song is composed in Raga Shivranjani which was originally sang by Great Kishore Kumar . But Ustad ji has created a new feeling where the Rag Shivranjani was clearly come to light. My heartiest love and respect to Great Ustad ji Rashid Khan 🙏🙏🙏

Both of them (Kishore Da and Ustad Rashid Khan) are Institutes in itself, please don't try to compare these legends with limited knowledge of your music. By the way, I am zero in understanding music, I just enjoy the music :)
He started off ok then tabla was struggling to catch up lol then he stalled for the lyrics before “tadpat…” and then as soon as he slipped into his comfort zone he reigned like a king! I do appreciate him trying to sing this song as his own and not sounding like Kishore da…that’s commendable

NO ONE.. Not even Ustad o ka ustad Rashid Khan can recreate Kishore Kumar's magic in this song...this song just needs pure simplicity and emotion, it does not need classical harqat or Gazal or Khayal etc...
Why even compare? Infact what KishoreKumar had sung is a dito of LataJi. LataJi recorded this song first on KishoreKumar's insisting.
What Rashid Khan has sung is his contemplation. No need to compare.

It is so easy for people to comment on one of the most talented tabla players, Anubrato Chatterjee. He is one of the most talented young players and son of the great tabla maestros Anindo Chatterjee. Also, a guy who has spent is entire life playing an instrument and has successfully represented India at numerous international stages is being judged by people who are just sitting and listening to it without even being considered to be on such a stage is funny.
If tabla was provided with correct tune, i think, it was going to be more marvelous... Love you Ustad g, I wish i could sing with you with more high nodes.

Tabla artiste is Anubrota Chaterjee son of illustrious Anindo Chaterjee. Actually here Rashid Khan has been missing his saans & off colour (maybe because he was unwell but we didn't know)

I felt the same about Parveen Sultana singing Hume Tumse Pyar Kitna vs the Kishore version which was full of emotional richness. Some songs are just best left alone. I would not listen to a Kishore Kumar rendition of Bhavani Dayani (a Bhairavi popularly sung by Parveen Sultana), if there ever was one.
How do you know that nobody could have surpassed Kishore Kumar. Kishore Kumar himself recorded after Lata Mangeshkar so that he could listen to her rendition and try to be better. Kasmen Wade Pyaar Wafa Saab came to Manna Dey when Kishore Kumar refused to sing for Pran and what a rendition given by Manna Dey! Lata Mangeshkar was so moved when she first listened to the song that she cancelled her recordings on that day. Even Kishore Kumar later regretted of refusing the song but commented that Mannada bahoot behatarin gaya. Somebody is comparing Humme Tumse pyar kitna by Parveen Sultana with that of Kishore Kumar forgetting that both the versions are different as the Parveen’s rendition was a classical bandish whereas Kishore Kumar’s version was in popular format. Though Kishore Kumar nailed it perfectly and it was one of his best rendered songs. So it is better not to use superlative for any artist in comparison to others because sometimes the market decides who will get the better compositions to render. If it was Mohd. Rafi in 50s and 60s, it was Kishore Kumar in 70s onwards. But all were greats in their own right and nobody was superior or inferior to each other.

Totally. Ustad had to tone down to match the lower level of skills. It was embarrassing to watch, especially the tabla player who was out of his depth.
We want to listen her live without any autotune .... then we n the so called" die hard" fans will see her true potential .....

With all due respect to both of you, and also my extreme gratitude to ustad ji , my sincere request some songs r immortal and it is in our mind , body and soul due to creation , lyrics, and the rendition of the singer. In this case THE BOSS KISHORE KUMAR, THE ONE AND ONLY ONE RD , created a masterpiece , overlapping that and doing experiment with the song sometimes become unhealthy....It is totally my own perception

I had a pleasure of seeing him live in Florida some 15 years ago at his prime. Even for someone like me that do not understand Classical music, i knew he was the best there ever was. His range was just unbelievable.
This is a shivranjani rag that he is enlightening us with... Don't compare him to kishore kumar ji! Because this is something not everyone enjoy... You can't drunk-dance with this version... How will you compare fire and water! Both have their own forte. Just enjoy how ustad ji is teaching us the true chalan of the shivranjani raaga.. hats off to the tabla also...

A suggestion to all fans! Enjoy the rendition and don't compare, much like all of us enjoy Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty ji's Kaa k'run sajani,aaye na baalam (का करूं सजनी, आए न बालम!) and we don't compare it with Ustab Bade Ghulam Ali Sahib's rendition! Both are sublime, and help us go into trance.
Even best classical singers can’t do justice to such songs !! End of day, voice quality makes the difference. One can be technically perfect so gayaki & sound quality leave the mark. That’s why very less classical singers are called for playback

I love Rasidji so much for his all his classical and semi classical song but I couldn't love this song in his way of presentation.There mahaguru Kishor kumar is unparallel.
It was not THE Rashid ji who was singing,it was like a father figure(to soumendra da) who sat beside his son and singing so peacefully that his son was feeling heavenly.....and the best part is the presence of his son giving him so much comfort so much joy and peace while singing...Rest in music legend.....
