Great comparison but for me ill choose Jimny. Why ? There are few reasons to explain.
1) Not too much fancy Interior which I perefer for an offroader.
2) The Service, Reliability, , Easier Maintenance and That specific K15B engine can be tuned without having issues.
3) The car stays the true character of their ancestors.
4) The 4WD System as Standard.
5) I know it's not good for onroad but in offroad Jimny will surprise you how the car actually capable it is.

Maruti Suzuki made a big mistake by trying to market it fir the mass market when it is a car for a niche audience. It's a very good car and could have sild well if Maruti marketed it better. And as you said it's not for those who want to only show off. But for those who actually want to enjoy it's offroad capability.

@@MakeNagalandGreatAgain For Urban towns and City drive, Jimny excels (especially when compared to Thar). The steering is lighter but slightly more responsive, the overall dimensions of the vehicle makes it easier to park and navigate through traffic and the suspension of jimny is much better than the bouncy and rough suspension of Thar for more comfortable tarmac driving. It may sound like an exaggeration but drive both Jimny and Thar in city once and then you'll understand. But unfortunately the Engine of jimny is not that great and thats where thar is better. Jimny will struggle in higher speeds on highways while Thar will be able to pull more easily, though none of these vehicles are meant for high speed highway drives with their flat windscreens (prone to absolutely ear breaking windnoise at high speeds) and their body on frame construction effecting stability

One very important thing before purchasing any SUV is to check Service/maintenance and spare parts costs.
Cost of replacing even a single suspension can be around 8-15k depending how rugged is the SUV.
Single tyre can cost 10-17k depending on its type.
Just a Wheel bearings of 1 wheel can cost 7-8k.
Purchasing a big car with one time big cash can be easy for some people, but it's the maintenance that may upset you later.

It's common sense to compare similarly sized similarly priced vehicles , not even 1% of Indian consumer go for specific vehicles it's all based on hearsay from friends family advertisement those who buy non regular car from companies have basic knowledge that this cars are for show off , feel good in one's mind not for family purpose , most of buyers I know have thar or Scorpio as their 3rd or 4th car it's just car in their carage their wealth doesn't care about comfort ,mileage.
Comparison is misleading if done by biased channel forcing you to buy unsold inventory products from a company which doesn't sell due to poor after sales, service .
