My metalworking shop has always been a bit of a mess, but it had gotten REALLY bad lately. I went back to the drawing board and gave that side of the shop a complete makeover, reorganizing it and optimizing the tool layout and workflow.
I also skinned the walls with OSB, to make them look better and also make it easier to mount things on the wall. Hope you enjoy the video and are looking forward to more metalworking content in the future!

I loved this video because everything was so simple, but nicely done. People like me with simple tools and limited know-how could actually knock out a project like this in a weekend. The lift top coffee tables and whaleskin bluetooth speakers are fun to watch, but way outside of my capabilities!
Seth's Bike Hacks I didnât like because a lot of stuff he showed is just craftsman products which are probably expensive Iâd like to see more âdiyâ approach
Hah, very true man! Thanks dude.
You could DIY some of these things for sure, it really depends how much you value your time. If you spend a day building a storage cabinet vs. buying one, it could come out more expensive when you factor in time and materials. I also prefer using mostly metal items on the metal side of the shop.
Crafted Workshop I love all of your content !!
Thanks!
BIG improvement! If you find your self using the bench a lot with power tools plugged in to the strip, you might find it easier to mount the power strip right under the front edge of your bench, that way the cord is not covering the bench.
As someone who is trying to get my hope shop back up and running after a move I love things like this and gives me the motivation to get some more of it finishes so I can get back to what I like doing in the shop.
Yessssss this video has so much win! Finnegan shirt, craftsman tools, 3D CAD. nice work!
I admire people who have this kind of knowledge. You can build whatever you want.
I'm so glad I watched this video. I wasn't going to because I was thinking I'm not ready for a workshop just yet. However, I am planning out my woodworking collection of tools. I'm a beginner, getting ready to tackle a class once I'm done with gathering my tools. I'm also in the planning stages of remodeling my house. This video gave me some awesome ideas that I can definitely use when I'm going to install drywall, as well as organize my space. Thanks!! đ
That turned out great. What a transformation. Thanks for sharing.
Do you have any ideas for people who aren't sponsored
Once again, I'm so jealous of how organized your workshops are!
Hah, thanks Brittany!
Excellent video showing something that many of us NEED to do.
Nice work Johnny! Great info on general shop build-out methods and material use!I really like the versa-track layout as well! Cant wait to see more work in this area. Keep it up man.
Thanks man, Iâm really happy with the way it turned out!
Simple. Effective! The Versa track is an excellent solution!
I found that old hockey pucks are excellent âfeetâ for shelves and benches that may get exposed to wet or damp floors.
Well done shop and great clear video. Excellent narration.
Great job! You make it look easy!
Chop saw stand should be painted red :)
I'm so envious of your metal shop. It is beautifully organized and just inviting to craft something.
Hah, I agree! Between the CRAFTSMAN and Lincoln Electric stuff, thereâs a theme đ
Super simple project that adds a ton of functionality. Nice work Johnny!!
Thanks man, so pumped on this side of the shop!
I've been using the same set of sockets and wrenches from Craftsman for well over 20 years! Heck, I'm using some of the tools my dad and his dad gave me HAHAHA! Sometimes I forget to check out Craftsman because the big box stores carry other brands. Thanks for reminding me about this trusty company and their life long tools đ The workspace looks amazing!
Thanks man!
Looks very nice !! Maybe a bit of coloured or black paint behind your sign and the letters would "pop" a bit.
Nice! I wish it was mine. Lol. I've always wanted to visit Lincoln Electric. I'm only around 45 minutes away.
Great tidy up,worked out well
That's the only way I'd use porter cable errrr I mean Craftsman tools... if they gave them to me. đ€Ł Congrats on the new sponsor. The organization and setup looks great.
I want my workshop layout to be just like yours. I think though my everlast welders will more central as I use them a lot.
Looks like a really great shop! Really diggin that toolbox đ§°

Just one word, Superb!!!

Looks awesome man! Congrats on the sponsorship ta boot!! Boom Baby.
Thanks Mike!
Everything looks amazing! Congrats on the upgrade and cleanup đđ I think you should paint the metal sign in black.... anyways that's just my opinion đ Great Job, always nice to see your videos.
Thanks, and I agree! Planning to paint the sign, just ran out of time đ
Looks awesome bud! Very clean.
Thanks Mason!
really inspiring
Great job!! Should have also added a couple of more power outlets in the wall while you were at it
Muy bien, excelente amigo đ
Lol, did you get jelly of April's metal shop when you were over there to help with the lumber mill? She does have a nice big shop, i'm uber jelly of her too.
Awesome build, Cool FSM shirt

It looks realy great!
Thanks Johan!
Awesome and it's like watching a 2am infommercial for craftsman
Hah, thanks!
Looking good Johnny
Thanks Frank!
Love this content.
Thanks!
Nice job mate. I follow both Peters along with yourself and others. I have the UJK?? drilling system sitting in it's tube but I haven't made a table. i did have an old mft1080 though and it was nice.
at the end of the video u say that those equipment are a bit tided too close... well that "workshop\garage" is bigger than my apartment XD nice work :D
Nicely done đ
Thanks, and great work on that table!
That's honestly garage goals!
Hah, thanks!
@@craftedworkshop I'm just now getting into welding and metal work so eventually I'd like to do something like that
Dope video, where did you get that belt sander? That looks awesome and I need to get one to help with my FC jeep rebuild project.
I've been admiring that workbench at Lowes. Are you happy with it so far?
Those new craftsman look really nice
They definitely are!
@@craftedworkshop I own Craftsman die & threading tool set, they are about 60 years old and still look like new. :)
Solid work. I would have added more hardwired outlets before finishing the wall.
I probably should have. Thanks!
Yo they hooked you up! Nice work man
Thanks Caleb!
should have kilz the block wall and installed a moisture barrier. thats a perfect place to grow mold
Cantik sangat bengkel kereta awak boss .. saya Dari Malaysia đČđŸ
Johnnie has the best videos!
Wow, incredible makeover! A dehumidifier might be useful, esp to keep condensation off tools and prevent mold.
Thanks! And the mini split handles that for me, otherwise for sure.
Crafted Workshop I saw that, didnât think about a/c as a dehumidifier. Well done!

nice workshop. I wish you, spend a long time in a comfortable environment.
Hey what do you think of the Pheer grinder? How was the fit finish when it was delivered? Mine is an awesome tool but I had to re-tap 3 holes & repaint the entire thing.
If any of those CMU walls are external foundation walls, it's good practice to leave at least a 1" air gap between CMU/Concrete wall and 2x4 studs. In my part of the country, it's not only good practice, it's code. In the first few scenes, you can see some faint efflorescence on the CMU's, leading me to believe those do get residual dampness on them, or have in the past.
Looks awesome! I would have painted/sealed the concrete blocks.
I wish one day i will have a space like this đ„°đ„°đ„°
You should put a backlight behind your new metal sign. Kinda like seth bike hacks did with his wall
stoned outta my mind watching this lol
Where can I get that plastic slat wall and the hooks from? It looks so cool and neat!
Bravo
Swooping past 400k. Nice setup!
Thanks man!
Good job ...
Bubbly is so good
Red is such a nice tool colour
For sure!
What kind of walls are safest for metal work...grinding welding etc..
Steel or concrete
I am a Machinist by trade and keep my work area and tool boxes clean and in order at my job but when I comes to my home shop its a different story machine tools and motorcycles and clutter drives me nuts but that's what happens when you have a car and a half garage with too much I am slowly organizing very satisfying clear plastic tubs for different bike projects to hold parts
Your shop is beautiful! Do you make custom work to sell?

dude it looks fuckng great.
3:10 that shot XD
Did you ever consider just painting or fire-resistant cork spraying the cinder block wall? As someone that struggles integrating wood and metal working in one space, I always try to keep flammable building materials out of the "metal working area? Painted OSB with visible seams and screw holes seems less esthetic to me than nicely painted cinder block-just personal preference. And with the awesome VersaTrack, the ease of attaching, and storing things to the wooden wall seems less a priority. Appreciate your channel and the video.
Unless you can lock out the diffuser on the mini split or simply remember to turn it off when you are going to weld; you might want to consider swapping the welding table with the work bench. Air blowing on the welding field will affect dispersion of the shielding gas and can introduce contamination into the weld, both resulting in poor weld strength⊠Plus they will look all boogery.
what did you use for the 3d designing
how do you cut angles with that saw fixed in place ?
Differently looking at getting the Craftsman work bench.
Itâs nice!
