- I'm speaking on the Senate floor about the need for Republicans to join us in extending funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program. 23 million+ households could be disconnected from high-speed, affordable internet. It's long past time to act.
The ACP was imagined and enacted because it is necessary. ACP must not expire for the same reason.

Thank God for a "few good politicians".........If they can "give corporate welfare"; they can provide
internet to the poor and the elderly.........
They can also provide IDS FOR EVERYONE SO THEY CAN VOTE LEGALLY
This is a good program for everyone ! The poor need to connect also ! This helps people to connect to the world and all the services out there ! Get on board Republicans ! I see someone say the cost is $98 billion and that is a fictitious number. Math apparently wasn't that persons Forte ! 23 mil times $30 is under one billion !
they should at least provide internet to veterans and the elderly who rely on it to have healthcare
at home; and cannot easily get out to a Dr.'s office because of health reasons. And students.....

Nothing these people do is "affordable." Neither in money, nor in freedom.
If you want ppl to get jobs & support themselves, it seems logical to give them some tools. Apply for jobs, take courses, learn the language, etc.
Tele health - cuts costs, keep contagious ppl out of office, helps ppl with no way to get there or too weak or sick. Could decrease ER visits which are tremendously crowded & expensive. Why wouldn’t you want this for yourself or your neighbors??
It’s not entirely free. It’s reduced cost of $30 month.
Most companies offer a 30 dollar plan, if not normal they offer it to people enrolled in ACP. ACP also prevents them from cutting your internet if you pile up late bills, the most they can do is reduce your speed.

The republicans have refused to pass border bill, written by a republican & endorsed by border patrol union. They are responsible for the chaos at the border. Don’t act against your own self interest
Yeah, let’s see the data for what this internet is actually being used for. 1% for important things and 99% for CZcams,FB, gaming, porn etc. When I was growing up if I needed internet I went to the library. My grandmother calls her doctors to make appointments, I don’t know many seniors that use the Internet to do it. I have to pay for Internet and now I’m expected to pay for others? When do my benefits start to take effect from supporting everyone else so they can enjoy the same things I work 60+ hours a week for? Teach people to start supporting themselves. How to actually improve their lives. Stop with the handouts. It does nothing but hold back our progress. Just like the sign says at the nature parks, don’t feed the animals.

If the program is being used for what he says then it doesn’t take long to make an appointment and put in an application. Set up computers at city halls, police departments etc. Hell they can go to McDonald’s and get internet for free even. I don’t see the point in tax payers paying for some something that is just a convenience rather than a necessity.
Im sure joe could come up with $ 98 billion for the cause.
