Buckling is more dangerous than fracture as even under fracture ...bcz rails r fixed to sleepers at c/c distance of 600m atleast...bt when buckled,in that short length ,train can't move in that ...causing derailment
GMT stands for gross million tonnes, its nothing but a measure of load which have been passed over our assets such as rails, sleepers etc. its important because life of all assets in track are given based on how much load passed over it for example we have to compulsory change the rails once 800 GMT pass over it so that's the significance. 1 in 20 is nothing but a inward cant given to rails with the help of sleepers to have effective contact with the wheel (since in conning of wheel also same 1 in 20 slope is used )
