- More than 6,000 patients waited longer than 24 hours in emergency departments in Scotland last year, new figures show. Nicola Sturgeon was challenged on the statistics, released to Scottish Labour using freedom of information legislation, during at First Minister’s Questions at Holyrood on Thursday.
The party found 6,362 people waited longer than 24 hours in A&E, despite the Scottish Government’s target being that 95% of patients should be seen and subsequently admitted or discharged within four hours.

My partner a 74 year old who had not long had a cancerous tumour removed, which further treatment was not offered due to his age and health, has had blood clots in his lungs, has had 3 heart attacks, who was told to go straight to A n E if he suffered any head or neck pain, was left 72 hrs in a chair, was quizzed by a "nurse" and told he shouldn't have gone to A n E with the excruciating pain he was having in both his neck and head, 72 hrs in they told him to leave and get paracetamol for the pain. Yeah Nicoliar your NHS isn't broken...
The wastage of NHS money is catastrophic.
There was a shortage of an NHS Ambulance Transport Van so they sent a taxi to pick up a passenger to travel from Perth to Edinburgh costing the NHS a huge £290 for the 2 hour journey fare. 😳

Scotland has by far the best performing NHS in the UK. Far better than both labour run Wales and Tory run England. This is with the tories controlling the purse strings and causing many workers to leave thanks to brexit.
