www.calibamboo.... A short instructional video showing how easy it is to install Cali Bamboo's Rolled Bamboo Fencing over an existing block wall, wood and chain link fence.
Using a beautiful model to do how-to's videos is SUCH a great marketing scheme on CZcams and here is a fine example. How many other viewers only half paid attention? lol
I bought a house with an ugly wire fence all around and have been wanting to update it, but the fence is pretty new and sturdy. It seemed wasteful to tear it all down. This seems like a way to make use of it and improve it at the same time.
Great idea! I have a black wall that I need some privacy from my 2-story home neighbor - he decided to cut down his oleanders....so there went my privacy! I think I am going to use the 4 x 4, 1" bamboo attached to the top part of the fence so I'll have about 3 3/4' to extend past the top to help - I think it will look great and unique and serve the purpose! Thank you!
Not only that, but you couldn't stop "running" bamboo from potentially taking over your neighbor's yard too, and that could lead to a lot of additional problems. Since most species are almost impossible to get rid of once you have them, you might think about growing your bamboo in containers.
These stuff cost more than replacing the actual fence and using redwood or pressure treated material which will last much longer and look more professional and clean!
Hi, Its a good video. I did take your advice for attaching the fence to chain link. But now the fence is making crackling sound. Is it normal? i have attached to the poles exposed side and not the smooth side. As poles for chain link are inside.
Nice video, but shouldn't the 2X4 be some kind of treated or non rotting wood? That looks like a pine 2x4 and will rot away in the weather and to insects.
wow this is exactly what I need to get privacy from my weird neighbors. jeez they are nasty ugly back yard and their dog stinks like hell. and this bamboo seems very easy on the chain link fence. I gotta get me some of those bamboo.

Well I paid attention as I need to put up bamboo fencing!
Great idea for a cover up on less esthetic fencing. Our bamboo never gets termites and love working with it.
They're nice. If you secure them tightly, they won't sag for many years.

FYI "White Plastic Wire Ties " are for indoor use only !! The black ones are for outdoor and are weatherproof and UV resistant as well !!

Beautiful...fence is nice too
How about when there is a gate involved and you want to overlap the outside hinge side? What about the give to open and close the fence?
Di Diane, the fencing has 3 metal wires running through it, just snip the wires at the hinge and remove a pole or two then bend the wires back.
Bamboo fence? I didn't even notice 😜
Is the neighbour Phil from Pantera???
Make sure that wall, fence, or chain link belong to you because your neighbor may sue if you attach anything to their property.
Good call EH CBunny.
I love when women explain things, I wouldn't understand otherwise. Now I know I can do it
hola . me acabas de dar una idea . necesito hacer parasol de bambu para garage

UV breaks down the plastic zip ties..can"t just use any ol kind..they will fall apart..are yours UV resistant?
Good point Richard! Do like Richard says, and only use UV resistant zip ties outdoors. 👍

Bamboo will crackle as is adjusts to it's new environment, it should dissipate over time.
I forget what this video is about..........*drool*
for a concrete wall (balcony) with smaller bamboo, can you mount directly to the concrete without the 2x4?
You could probably just use some of these adhesive mounts. 2-3 every couple feet should hold it:

Great catch David, we should have used pressure treated lumber.
Is it pet resistant? I have thinner bamboo I bought from home Depot and the dog has ripped it up
We have a chain link fence. Their old privacy fence is falling down. Trees are falling down. Unsightly.
Bamboo fencing is a quick and easy way to make all of your neighbor's eyesores disappear!
Thank you.
Are the ones shown in the video 1 inch or 2 inch in depth?

short but clear..
My GOD, you're wonderful. I fell in love. A Brazilian Kiss enchanted by such beauty.
How hard is it to attach to chain link if you can't get on the other side of the fence in your neighbors yard?
It is tricky but possible, the fencing will spread a little.
do you guys do living bamboo fencing
No, but it sounds neat.
Excellent to see that woodprix has new plans what helped me save some money and energy to build it.
Looks expensive ?
Bamboo fencing starts at $5.75/linear foot. Chain link=$7, wood=$12, vinyl=$17, aluminum=$26
