Binghamton NY | Southside

The southside of Binghamton New York (Broome County) is primarily a residential neighborhood. There are also a lot of commercial and industrial outfits. Main roads include Conklin and Vestal avenues.
It appears to be home to a diverse population of residents from various ethnic backgrounds.
It also seem to offer several transportation options. Public bus routes connect the neighborhood to other parts of Binghamton, and major highways are close by.
The commercial district, has a wide range of local businesses, including restaurants, cafes, shops, etc...
Housing is generally considered affordable in Binghamton. This neighborhood has a variety of architectural styles.
Crime is often stated to be a factor in Binghamton as a whole. Generally listed in several publications as one of the most dangerous cities in New York State, and among the highest crime rates in America as a whole. Based on comments of local residents, this area appears to be middle of the road within Binghamton. Sentiments point in the direction that the Southside is a fair place to live with a balanced mix of areas to be avoided.

You should go up S. Washington St. to Woodland Ave. and Morgan Rd. by Ross Park. That's where I grew up.

They call it south mountain
