Pyrion you did the PERFECT voice for my email, you absolutely nailed it! Thank you. I'm glad Lewis liked the Big Boy too, it does make you feel like a little kid when you see the sheer f***king size of these things. I'm not into all the stats and stuff but the beautiful travel posters/ads/stylised art-deco shrouding and stuff was awesome. Being a train/railroad fan is absolutely something you would never have revealed to anyone during the 90s or 00s.

In response to big daddy P fizzlet talking about the emails he doesn't choose to read out because of the sensitive subject, actually taking the time to respond to some of those listeners personally is the biggest fucking W and I applaud you my good shiny headed sir. That in itself would make someones day just getting a response and being acknowledged and knowing you've been seen. This podcast has been one of the stable parts of my life for a very long time, you guys waffling on brings a sense of calmness to this shit show of a life we live in. Thank you guys for what you do from the bottom of mine and every other Yognaughts hearts, it is sooooo much more than just a podcast!

Whyte notation describes the wheels on a steam engine. Each number is a set of wheels. A 4-8-8-4 has 4 wheels in the front, 2 sets of 8 wheels, presumably to drive the train, and 4 wheels in the back. The notation describes the wheels on both sides of the train, so each group of 8 has 4 on each side. The notation always goes from front to back.
Strictly speaking, Whyte notation specifies that the first number are the leading wheels of the set, the last is the trailing wheels and then the middle (usually one number, sometimes two with articulated locomotives) are the driving wheels.

I think Pflax is right about re-emergence of stuff, it's a well known trend with regards to names here in Denmark at least. Names tend to jump a generation or two and becomes popular again all of a sudden.
With regards to trains, I just watched a 3 hour video on steam trains by "Well There's Your Problem" podcast (the podcast about engineering disasters (with slides)), and it's the history of steam locomotion is very interesting. The tech they tried out was pretty wild back then, even made a train that was practically just a pair of walking metal legs 😆 4-8-8-4 configuration is just a way to say you have 4 wheels in the front, 4 wheels in the back, and a pair of 8 wheels providing power.

Love the podcast but what an abysmal little offhand take about chess by mr.brindley "maybe dont play a solved game", wrap it up boys, lets just watch computers play mathematically perfect chess the same over and over, i dont even play chess and that just stood out to me.
So basically i used to be a fan of you guys, heck, I even got the T-Shirt! However these days i feel as though they're getting too political, it seems as though they have been brainwashed by the liberal left. which has LEFT (pun intended) me worrying about the future of the channel and the small maluable minds of the youth. I hope you guys will soon see reason, I'd reccomend listening to andrew tate instead his views are far more educaterd and correct.
