ENEMIES GO BOOM - Sniper Elite 5

It's been a while since I used a shotgun in Sniper Elite 5. I like the Drilling shotgun for it's slug rounds that allow you to get some insane long distance shots. It's great for making enemies go flying.

I used a shotgun as a secondary weapon when I played Sniper Elite 4 and really enjoyed it. I haven't used the Drilling much in SE5 simply because I love using the Stengun Mk2. I use it often to do head shots, this saving ammo in my pistol.

Perks of all the shotguns, drilling packs a huge punch but only has 3 shots, sjögren has high firerate, 5 shots but lower damage and the trench gun is an all rounder, has 6 shots, and is free but has low fire rate.

Sjogren is the one for me. Lower damage seems like it should be a weakness, but it still one shot kills everyone except Jagers, and you can switch to slugs when they show up. It's got a good magazine size, high fire rate, and a better balance between stability and recoil than the other two. It's easy to be accurate with it, even if you need to take down groups of enemies quickly. Great at range too, with the slugs. 100-150m shots are pretty simple, and you can stretch it past 200m if you want to, although that takes a bit more patience. I love it.
Drilling is good as an invader, where the bit of extra damage is useful, and you don't need more than 3 shots (only 1 or 2 targets).
Trench gun is the weakest, for me, just because low fire rate isn't what you want for a primarily close range weapon, and it doesn't really have enough advantages in other areas to make up for that. Maybe useful with the bayonet if you like a suppressed rifle? I already fit a bayonet to my rifle though.

I'm liking these videos where you just pick one weapon and go and cause mayhem with it.
The shotguns are fun! Not appropriate for every situation, but fun nonetheless. I do wish they'd have made the Drilling 2 shotgun rounds +1 rifle, though, instead of just 3 shotgun.

The Drilling Shotgun is my weapon of choice when invading a players game. Good power, accuracy and mobility. Also, no need to worry about how loud it is. :D
