- Its great to see so many out there still enjoying the beauty of such work. John Williams is a musical god.
Video Details-
Extended version of the brilliant masterpiece of John Williams, the Binary Sunset for the original Star Wars Episode IV (A New Hope).
The track fell into my hands a while back, and with it a few more varying tracks that where never in the motion picture. I ripped the music from some game as far back as Jedi Knights 2 or perhaps even Jedi Knights 1... The one wit the Yavin Trials levels, don't remember which title it was exactly. The one with Kyle Katarn (if that helps).
For all SW and John Williams fans, enjoy....!!!!
For those wondering which part is extended, it's from 1:00 - 2:00... To me that extra piece is simply brilliant and even more inspiring than the original 2 minute binary sunset... Simply amazing...
Edit: For those saying it is not the Binary Sunset Extended. Well of course it isn't officially Binary Sunset Extended, there is no such thing. For those saying it is a mix of Binary Sunset and Light of the Force. Indeed these parts are originally used in those two tracks.
Having that said, Jedi Knights is an official SW game and property of LucasArts. ALL the music in the games are from the first soundtracks created in the original trilogy. Whether they are mixes, or remade, or whatever, is beyond the point. New and official soundtracks have been created for the games and it is a song in its own.
Lastly, since these songs were not named at all and were simply file-names given to the level of the game that was played, the name was open for interpretation. Thus I came up with it myself and what more fitting name could be given than the one I gave? It is after all, the Binary Sunset, extended. And it is an official track of its own and property to LucasArts, and should NOT be treated as a mix of 2 tracks.
Just needed to add that since there are some claiming it is not the Binary Sunset Extended and it is a mix. Well, no. It is a track LucasArts made/mixed/edited (whetever they saw fit) for an official product to their company and it is a track in its own, that also was not named. Stop treating it as a mix. I didn't sit there and put it together myself. LucasArts made the song and how they did it (simple editing or not) is not for debate. The end result is what counts.
So enjoy that end result, the Binary Sunset, extended ;)

So there was kind of a double-whammy of realizing that our dreams were being fulfilled by this picture. It was an amazing time.

How on Earth did the whole galaxy know about it? No-one knew how the Emperor was defeated, only Luke, us the viewers, and Han and Leia plus some more.
All they knew was that the Rebellion won.
Even in the clone wars there are planets that know absolutely nothing about the Jedi and some villages and towns and what not were introduced to them from the wars alone. And this was when the Jedi were at their peak and everyone should know about them.
Aside from that, History is written by the Victors. The Empire won and was in power for over 20 years. More than enough time, within the span of an entire galaxy, to shape mainstream history to whatever they saw fit.
And, as we see, they are still not unknown. Despite all this tempering with history and the know remaining to a small few, legends of what happened still exist. Having not seen any Jedi for over 30 years, I doubt the mainstream minds would believe in all that sorcery. Take a look at today, people don't believe in legends either unless they see them.
Add to this, that Han Solo in the first films established the state of mind that existed (that Jedi are not real) having met nothing of the sort in all his journeys, it is easy to assume that 30 years later this notion would be multiplied.
So, if there was anything done wrong, it was in the initial classic trilogy that did not explain how all that history of the Jedi was wiped out to begin with. SW7 played off that trajectory perfectly. Best continuation to the franchise ever.

When Star Wars premiered in 1977 I was less than a year old. I can remember that - as a small kid - I saw the Kenner toys in the shops but I was not old enough to understand them. My first contact was in a kid's book about human space exploration which shows on its last page a still from Star Wars showing a X-Wing pursued by a TIE-Fighter with the Death Star in the background. This picture was commented like "in films like Star Wars mankind travels between the stars easily, however in reality this will happen - if ever - in a very distant future". From this moment on I wanted to see this marvelous film. In the 80s I saw the trilogy on VHS, but it took until 1997 to see them on the silver screen (the Special Edition). I envy a little bit all of those folks who were old enough to see it in 1977 - and I want to share their awe!

When I was a kid, my grandfather got me so interested in Star Wars and since then I loved it. My grandfather passed away on his birthday in 2001 and everytime I listen to this song, I cry alot because I miss him so much and loved him.

This song always reminds me of being a kid and playing Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. Specifically the training level in the Yavin 4 temples. That stuff is the real Star Wars to me, besides the original movies.

I remember when i was a little kid, i saw the first one. I was amlong time late. 2009 but since then i just loved star wars and i thought it was so cool. The characters and stuff. Im sad the Skywalker saga is over, hopefully the sky walkers make a return and Kylo ren finally becomes a great person like he used to be as a kid. It is hard to see when the first star wars was random to a whole chapter of it. Also how the story has progressed to a big awesome movies, and chapters. Love how they actually created a whole connected story. Thank you star wars and every one for reading my paragraph of a comment.

Jimmy Dark I honestly don't remember it. I played that game something like 4 months total but don't remember the soundtrack as much for some reason. It was SWarsy cool, but I did at points end up simply putting this song on again over the in-game music when playing :P

My favorite SW track. It expresses so much while being so simple. I love that this is the track playing in some of the most important and iconic moments in the originals: Binary Sunset, Ben's death, Yoda explaining the Force, Yoda's death, Luke telling Leia she's his sister, Darth Vader 's redemption, and Vader 's cremation.
Star Wars The Force Awakens Is going to be such a good movie! I have a lot of faith in J.J Abrams, not only is he going to make this movie like the orginals but he's going to make also different and unique! He will do a spectacular job with it and for all of you who think it might me just as bad as the prequels it won't be, have faith in the force and in J.J Abrams. May The Force Be With You All!

Bigems Bricks I kinda enjoyed Attack of the Clones and some parts of Phantom Menace. Attack of the Clones had the battle of Geonosis, and the droid factory bit, which I quite liked. And Phantom Menace had Darth Maul, which is cool.
