I was in London last November and I did my research before hand, prepared thoroughly, there are even whole tube trips on youtube I viewed so when I got there I knew exactly where to go and what to expect. Needless to say, everything went smooth and I had a great time. Except maybe this one time they had shut down St. Johns Wood station because some guy had jumped on to the tracks so I had to find an alternate form of transport, but luckily as if by magic, I saw a bus that said "Victoria" on it which coincidentally was exactly where I needed to go, so I hopped on it and everything was fine again. I Love London! I'm going back again later this year.
Good for you. The transport links in London are amazing!
I have visited London several times. I plan to visit in the Fall 2022. I havenumerously informed fellow Americans to keep to the right in the Tube!
Great advice !
Another brilliant video, thanks
+Type 40 thank you
Haha this video is awesome man. I'm a Londoner and you nailed it. Funny too. Good work!!
You sir, are an amazing presenter!
You sir, are very kind!
Thank you. Fun. Informative.
Your videos are great! Definitely helpful when we took a trip to London. Thanks!
Good to hear it - enjoy London ;-) Syrus
this channel is the best it's unfair that a good channel like this gets only 5k subs this channel deserves more
Thank you Yosif - we are getting there. Do tell all of your friends about us ;-)
I completely agree about booking in advance! Doing so at attractions can also get you in quicker as well!
Here here - more of London's visitors should know about this ;-)
Love your content guys! Syrus is hilarious!
+stars thank you :-)
The fist thing I was thinking in London is "Don't get hit by a car and look right first before you cross the road".
Then the first time a cross a road.......I almost get hit by a car. Dammit!!!
Damn! But you lived to tell the tale ;-) Syrus
Wonderful Syrus! Nothing but NOTHING drives me crazier than poor escalator etiquette! Well done! Love and cheers!👍💗😘🇬🇧
thank you very much, your videos are excellent and you are very funny. have a nice day
One way streets can approach you from the left. Don't just look right. Notice the "look left" or "look right" lettering on the sidewalk.
+yixnorb Good advice
And Savoy Court. It probably doesn't make much difference given how small it is but the taxis (basically it will be a taxi) will be coming at you from the other direction.
"Which could save you a few pund that is better spent on a few pints". My favorite comment :)
Glad you like it! Syrus ;-)
Hi, Your comment about crossing the road and looking the correct way is so true. A young newly married couple I knew had a Honeymoon in America. One of the first things they did was to take a walk from their hotel. As he crossed the road (being an Australian) he looked the other way stepped on to the road was hit by a car and died.
Very nice, going to london next june 13!
You drive in the other side of the road. Don't ever change that, it's just a part of this awesome city that I love so much! I don't mind it being a little old-fashioned.
Great presentation style
Oyster card can also be used on all trains inside the London zones except Heathrow Express, Heathrow Connect (between Heathrow and Hayes & Harlington), East Midlands Trains, Grand Central, Hull Trains, Virgin Trains and Virgin Trains East Coast.
Good advice - thank you.
What about the train from London to Paris? Can I use the Oyster card ?
@@samukahtviv1 haha no, as that train goes outside the London fare zones. Eurostar has its own tickets
hahaha love the video man keep up the good work!!!
Thank you. Glad you're enjoying the videos.
I love your videos they are very funny :)
Loving your vids. They are brilliant! Be good if you did a video about contactless prepayment MasterCards for tourists, that work and charge the same as Other UK bank based cards without the commission charges. Cards like the ones Revolut for example offer.
Keep up the great work! 👍🏽😊
What is it with the UK and walking down escalators, the stairs are already moving in the direction you want to walk.
Because we are always in a hurry lol
Glenn Wathern I live in London and the reason is because London has 8.788 million people and when it is rush hour people are determined to get to work fast how ever some are not going to work so they take there time and stands on the right.👍
Is the same in New York so its not a UK only thing. People have to get to work!
Because it’s quicker obviously
Films the part where he says you need to look right at a street where you need to look left, good job.
Good video - maybe an update is needed? Dont they actually charge for the cable car and its NOT free on Oyster anymore? But youre quite right - do research
Contactless, Apple pay and android pay are actually cheaper than oyster and no hassle about topping up
Not if you are travelling specifically between certain zones regularly as Oyster Travel Passes are far but limit you to use in the specified zones.
They are the same price lol
It’s exactly the same price
May get hit with international transaction fees for travelers visiting London.
stand on the right and walk on the left ? i thought it would be vice versa (similiar to the road traffic) to germany. good to know ;-)
faehne same here in Singapore. We stand on the left, and walk on the right
Your videos are perfect! The length fits my attention span, and they're highly informative and entertaining.
I didn't knew restaurants in London would let me pay %12,5 extra service charge.....
I'm from Malaysia and when it comes to using escalators, people stand on the left and walk on the right instead. Logic behind this is the same as driving. We drive on the left side of the road the same as in Britain. Slow lane is on the left side and faster or overtaking lane is on the right.
Looks like both of our countries are right ;-) Syrus
You can save time and money by not booking airport transfers and using the underground from Heathrow or the train from Gatwick (Not Gatwick Express)
Here here - I agree!
A common mistake is going on the bus, scanning your card and getting off scanning your card again... your basically spending half your balance!
I dont wanna make any mistake so I need to ask you where can I get the best fish n chips in london! Tkss
Hie.. I just found your video. Alot of useful stuff. Thank you very much...
I am arriving London this weekend and this is the first time I hearing of the Oyster card :( Its too late for me to order online, therefore need to ask you can we buy it at Heathrow airport for my tube to the hotel? I only have 1 free day in London, and yes planning to go to Covent garden, British Museum, etc so do I need the Standard Oyster card still? There are 2 of us, can we share 1 card?
I am probably to late for this question. Did you get an Oyster card? What did you see? Can't wait to hear ;-)
I love this guy!1!!!11!!
Also arent you able to actually buy oystercards directly from some machines. Colleagues from Canada bought 3 direct from a machine in Waterloo station, topped up and ready to go..
You are but I don't know if they are visitors Oyster Cards........
They managed to use them getting cheap fares whole week they here and keep them for when come back :) all good hehe
You can order an Oyster card and have it sent to you through the post
So what about contactless cards? I specifically got a contactless AMEX for traveling in London.
Wilson Guzman that should also work.. Looks like he missed it in the clip! 👍
+1eastmandem1 thanks for the heads up - we are going to make a new contactless video soon
Same with Apple Pay
wouldnt that be very expensive because youd have to pay foreign currency conversion for every transaction?
@@Justine7832 That is correct, but some cards don't charge fees. You have to check with your card issuer.
Looks like cyrus from let it shine movie
Top notch presenting !
Thank you ;-) Syrus
Hi There!! So Ive waited a bit late to watch your video! I am traveling to spend the day in London on Monday, Where can I purchase an Oyster card? I want to go to Camden Lock Market, any advice on the best and cheapest modes of transportation? And how much can I expect to spend? Is the US dollar accepted in London?
Thanks a lot!!
Hi there, you should be able to pick up an Oyster card up from a Tube station or even the airport. Check out their website. Best station for Camden Lock is Chalk Farm. In terms of spending it depends on where you're coming from. The US dollar is not accepted. Enjoy London & please do share our videos. Syrus ;-)
obscured in India we stand on left and walk on right on escalator .. but we both drive on left 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
+Abhijeeth Aatreya interesting.......
Don't lie. There are no rules in wild India
I recently visited London. I want to add a comment for the reader's benefit:
During July month, the weather is very very hot. Hence try to avoid visiting London during July. But if you still decide to visit in July, then bring with you sun screen lotion, a Hat and carry lot of water with you. Because water is very expensive in most of the Tourist places which you are going to visit. Also remember to book your stay with a Hotel where there is a proper Air conditioning.
I'm A Londoner and this video is good
MadiTravel o
The one thing that really gets me going....
Me: when you are filming under a tree 😂😂
although 'jaywalking' isn't illegal in the UK, my advise in London is to use the crossings. Also, vehicles must stop at a zebra crossing and allow people to cross
If you go to london & want to drink or eat go to wetherspoons
Hahahaha - naughty!
There’s no better way to accumulate subscribers than to give them information AND make them laugh.
Count me in . . .
By the way, I’d include the advice of not trying to do so many things in a day that you’re too knackered to enjoy what you’re doing.
Booking in advance is always highly recommended. Also you can put on a smug face when you walk through the ticket office with you pre booked ticket and see all the losers waiting in a queue

Is an Oyster card cheaper than using a bank card directly?
Americans look left, then right, then left again before they cross the street. Most of the time in London, you look right, then left, then right again -- but not always. If you look on the ground there's usually a sign painted that tells you "LOOK RIGHT" or "LOOK LEFT" depending on which direction traffic is coming in.
I use those signs a lot lol Syrus ;-)
Who knows why TfL even do cash fares on the underground/overground anymore. A lot of cities have card only now.
I know, but I kinda like it. I love cash - cashless society scare me lol Syrus
Save your airport transfer fee and fly in to London City Airport. It is 30 € more - so it pays for itself!
No crazy about the side we drive on. You mount a horse on the left side , that's why we drive on the left.Napoleon Bonaparte decided which side of the road , due to the fact he was left handed and made all his officers use the left hand when using a sabre .
And yes tickets are about £2.50 for children for one stop whereas a zip card would be 85p
+MadiTravel very true
Number 3. I live in Toronto Canada and we have a "subway" too. And yes, stand right walk left. P***es me off too!
+David Townend Here here! Please do share our video with all of your friends :-)
Yes, Mate I shall. Come one Spurs!
In Australia, it’s stand left, walk right. But I knew before I went and could read the signs in London haha
I ran up the center of the escalators on the stairs. No one else was, why weren't others going on the middle stairs? *was it illegal*?
No. Londoners are just lazy!

Haha. Yeah, I didn't think so. No superheroes.
2:32 superman acting 101
Good movie :)
+Matjaž Winkler thank you
he's so funny 😆
IFS Cloud Cable Car
Black cabs are expensive
I’m that person who always forgets to stand on the right oops
I must say its confusing, you drive on the left but you stand on the right on the escalators :-)
I know - we are a very confusing city. Please do share our videos with all of your friends ;-)
I'm in London 1-2 times a year and I don't use my Oyster card anymore. Instead I'm using my contactless MasterCard ;)
contactless charges the same as the oyster. You cannot jump over the amount of the daily as well as the weekly travel card with the oyster. However if you are getting a weekly one you can choose the day of the week it starts. With the contactless it starts automatically but always on Monday.
There's no advantage in having an Oyster Card, if you already have a contactless credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Android Pay. The Oyster and the contactless credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, all have fare caps after three times.
What is fare caps?
Is that mean when I pay with my apple pay three times then the rides are free?
❤❤❤
How crowded and clean is London?
London is a very busy city and is getting cleaner as time goes on. But there is a lot of traffic so there will be some pollution.
You can't use cash to get into a bus. Ok, can I use cash to BUY a bus instead? I live in Middle East, everyone has a bus.
Go for it! yeah buy your own bus ;-)
Not minding the gap.
Haha ;-)
Ok, I'm confused. You stand on the right and walk on the left, but this contradicts how you drive in London. Why you do this to me!!!
Because we are the most annoying city in the world ;-) Syrus
B man
lol first
