Sweet Smell of Success
singing in the rain
I've rewatched _The Wizard of Oz_ and _Casablanca_ more times than I can count. They're both such quintessential parts of Hollywood history packed with iconic scenes.
Dan, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
my favourite scene in Casablanca is the bazaar scene. Yours?
@@CAP198462 When they sing the French anthem.
Wizard of Oz, 1939 Casablanca, 1942 squeezed into the year 1943
Despite a lot of shadiness in the industry, Hollywood has put out a lot of greatness in its movies, especially the Classic Hollywood era
12:10
North By Northwest is a timeless movie that is rewatchable from time and time again, the second is Citizen Kane,it's timeless.
My favourite to watch and rewatch is Breakfast at Tiffany's. I'm surprised that didn't make this list. Beautiful people and beautiful music.
One movie that wasn't here but I've watched a lot of times is Arsenic and Old Lace. It's the first movie of Cary Grant that I watched and I have loved him since. Also, the 2nd movie I've watched countless times is Some Like it Hot. It never gets old haha
Arsenic & Old Lace is easily in my top 5 comedies of all time
Both of them are hilarious.
Singing in the rain is so good
"Singin' in the Rain," and "Wizard of Oz" are 2 I've watched over and over!
Gone With the Wind, Singing in the Rain, Rebecca ,Imitation of Life, and It's a Wonderful Life are a few of my favorites. I hope they make the list.
I think these days Gone With The Wind is seen as controversial, so they wouldn't likely put it on the list.
@@mwakampundu239 yes, I could see that, but don't let an amazing movie like that get buried under controversy. Vivian Leigh,Clark Gable,Olivia DeHaviland, and Hattie McDaniel gave EXCELLENT performances and these performances deserve to benjoy watched and rewatched time and time again.
Vertigo tops them all! Then Rebecca,Ben Hur etc...
I would add “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
I was almost obsessed with it my junior year of HS
So happy to see All about Eve on this list! I've lost count how many times I've watched it
I love The Wizard of Oz. I love the evolution of it. So fun to watch it and for the fact that Andrew Lloyd Webber did a musical for this movie
Speaking of box offices, 1977 - 2023 is well known to be shown but not that much from the 1930 - 1976
Aunt Mame is my December/holiday rewatch.
Ingrid Bergman radiated beauty in Casablanca ❤
Out of those you listed I am definitely guilty of rewatching Singin' In The Rain, Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, and even Sunset Boulevard..but I also have rewatched The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn (so os good) and Gone with the Wind (purely for the epic scale of it all, romance, the costumes-the dresses along OMG, the actors' performances, and the sass & fierce tenacity of one Scarlett O'Hara).. OH and My Fair Lady and West Side Story (1961). You can never go wrong with classic Hollywood movies.
I've seen All About Eve at least 20 times. Bette Davis is beautiful and unforgettable in this one!
I’ve been watching Singin’ In The Rain multiple times
Pardon me: WHERE IS GONE WITH THE WIND?!
Frankly my dear, MsMojo don't give a damn....... unfortunately!
I wont watch Casablanca or citizen Kain but i can appreciate the impact citizen Kain had on film.
When i was a kid i watched wizard of of oz over and onver
saw the title before clicking and went Wizard of Oz!!
Of course
I read somewhere how Wizard of Oz is the most watched movie of all time, so it makes sense that’s going to be on top of the list
That’s no surprise to me. It’s my second most watched movie. I have watched it over and over when I was a kid.
I still watch the Wizard of Oz,and always will its a happy movie.😊
It’s one of those classics I won’t mind visiting once in a while. Just not too often
115: I’m ready for my close up
It Happened One Night, Laura, The Philadelphia Story
How about "The Sound of Music"?
My picks are Rebecca, All about Eve, Sunset Boulevard, Citizen Kane, Casablanca...
Would you guys do a list of Top 20 Classic Hollywood Screwball Comedies Of All Time??? You should totally add My Man Godfrey, Bringing Up Baby, It Happened One Night, Girl Crazy, The Pirate, On The Town, Singing in the Rain, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Monkey Business, and Shop Around The Corner. Those movies are hilarious!
Damn Im surprised Gone With The Wind didn’t make the list.
Same here. I wish it was on the list.
Frankly my dear, MsMojo don't give a damn....... unfortunately!
@@GarricFreeseLol nice 👍🏼
Gone with the Wind is very cringey to anyone with even a slight grasp of history. Painting the southern plantation owners as tragic and sympathetic while pigeonholing the black cast members into nasty stereotypes is kind of gross. The 'lost cause' fallacy wrt the Confederacy is a social sickness. I can't deny that the film is well made and well acted. The same can be said of Birth of a Nation and Birth of a Nation completely paints the KKK in a heroic light.
No " It's A Wonderful Life " ?!?
I'M SHOCKED ! SHOCKED !!!
Wonderful movies indeed, love them all! ❤
Some like it hot is one of my favourite films ever
The fact that Marilyn Monroe stars in three of these movies is awesome! Gentlemen prefer blondes, All about Eve and Some like it hot! 💋
I need to watch those movies because Marilyn Monroe is my celebrity crush.
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes has always been a fav of mine!
ICON ICON IIIIICON ICON CON
Before I watch the video I must make a proclaimation; Casablanca and The Wizard of Oz are the two most rewatchable films of any era. Period.
Edit: Wow! It seems my opinion is a popular one. 😅
Lots of comments about omitting GWTW, my personal fave. (Some people can’t do repeated viewings because of the long running time….but they should seek professional help for that.)
My most rewatched movie, of any era, is The Sound of Music. I'm surprised that it didn't make the list 🤷
Dare I say that "Gone with the Wind" should be on the list and not be digitally stoned forthwith? ...but it has all of the elements you mentioned in these films... KDM
I would add To Kill a Mockingbird in the top ten!
Good list! I'll add a few more to this list: Gone With The Wind, The African Queen (Humprey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn in that movie?! count me in!), Roman Holiday, Breakfast At Tiffany's, The Sound Of Music, King Kong (the original one), My Fair Lady, Meet Me In St. Louis and Charade (Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn in that movie?! count me in!).
Roman Holiday (1953) has been my go-to rewatch. I love Gregory Peck, I love Audrey Hepburn, and I love their chemistry in that film.
Vertigo,Rebecca,Ben Hur,Navarone Guns,Out of the Past as also hidden gems like The mask of Dimitrios... all better than most of this list.
Great video but I would add Grease also.
114: Both of my grandmas were born in the 1930’s
Gone with the wind was missed
Rear window should be in this list too. One of the top mystery thriller movie ever made.
"WEST SIDE STORY" (1961), "THE SOUND OF MUSIC" (1965).
Wow, I've actually seen all of these except one, and the one I haven't seen is in my collection and will be watched soon.
Honorable mention - Yankee Doodle Dandy especially on the 4th of July!
By far Wizard of oz rewatched so many times
10/10. Kind of surprised, tbh.
I agree indeed.
This is actually a really good list. However, I'm a bit disappointed that Gone with the Wind didn't make it.
Frankly my dear, MsMojo don't give a damn....... unfortunately!
North by Northwest, I could watch that movie everyday! Sunset Boulevard and All About Eve and of course Casablanca and The Wizard of Oz!
You all forget Vertigo! Then Rebecca is my n2 Hitchcock movie.Vertigo is my no1 of all movies ever made. Then its the rest of Hitchcock,a ton of film noirs and epic classics, like Ben Hur,Navarone Guns etc.
For me it's _It's A Wonderful Life_ and _The Sound Of Music_ that we play annually without fail, though I've been told I quote _The Wizard of Oz_ more than any movie 😅😅 probably because I've watched it so many times as a kid...
The Sound of Music to me is semi holiday traditional viewing
All About Eve will NEVER lose its perfection.
Seen all of these many many times ❤❤
It’s a wonderful life! And breakfast at Tiffany’s
Interesting that MM is in 2 of the 10 pics.
My mom is a big fan of classic Hollywood, so I saw a lot of it growing up. I've seen Singing in the Rain more times than I can count! Seeing supremely talented legends like Gene Kelly makes you realize how low Hollywood's standards have gotten. One of my other favorites, though lesser known, is The Court Jester. So funny!
Court Jester is a staple in my family. We love Danny Kaye. The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!
Those are both good
I enjoyed the original king Kong with my grandpa we watched it every time when I visited during summer as a kid brings back great memories
Hollywood today needs to take a page from their own book about 80 years ago. This was story. This was narrative. This was what movies were about. Not the crap they spew out today.
I agree it’s tougher than ever to find good movies
I’ve discovered Some Like It Hot and Gentleman Prefer Blondes just recently. The former was my intro to Marylin Monroe. The Wizard of Oz opened the gateway to classic Hollywood for me.
What about Breakfast at Tiffany‘s?!?!
I have never seen Citizen Kane.
Gone With the Wind, who's afraid of Vergina Woolf, the party (peter sellers)
The Gay Purr-ee (1962) Judy Garland Voices the main character's love Interest loved that movie rewatched It recently
It's A Wonderful Life not mentioned?
Gone with the wind, The Sound of Music & Annie are great rewatch films.
Judy Garlands voice will never stop being iconic.
Great list, but the most re-watchable moment has got to be from Gone With the Wind: “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
Eva Marie Saint will be 100 this year. 😊
The treasure of Sierra Madre, high noon , pride of the Yankees, the best years of our lives , are just a few movies that I've seen multiple times , movies were better back then , thanks to tcm we can rewatch those classics
I Remember Wizard Of Oz The Wicked Witch Of The West
I’ve only ever watched Citizen Kane once and I didn’t even pay attention to the movie from start to finish.
Honourable mention: Inherit the Wind.
I was a huge “All About Eve” fan until I saw it on the big screen and thought it dragged. Give me “Laura,” “The Ten Commandments,” “Brief Encounter,” “Pillow Talk,” or “A Letter to Three Wives” instead.
Seven Year Itch is another killer Marilyn movie that still holds up as well as Forbidden Planet...maybe you have to do a list like this for classic Hollywood Science fiction and horror covering the 1930s thru the 1950s
I’m not a fan of Seven Year Itch
What about chaplin?
ANYTHING with Marilyn Monroe is rewatchable . I also rewatch Gone with the Wind, singing in the rain, showboat, Rebecca…Another good one is Fred Astaire and just garland in Easter Parade. Just fantastic.
I imagine Gone with the wind has become too controversial to be on a list like this nowadays but it obviously would have been number one if it was included.
If its rewatched by ppl often then it is what it is, and should be on the list. But honestly the most rewatched classic film has to be It's a Wonderful Life. Ppl watch it every year and they even play a marathon of it on E! all day on Christmas. Miracle on the 34th street would be the other.

Classic entertainment
Just curious how you came up with the 10.
I’ve watched Singing In The Rain and The Wizard of Oz more times than I can count.
Absolutely the wizard of oz is number one and iconic and classic
10 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
9 Citizen Kane
8 Rebel Without a Cause
7 North by Northwest.
6 Sunset Boulevard
5 All About Eve
4 Some Like It Hot
3 Singin' in the Rain.
2 Casablanca.
1 The Wizard of Oz.
Wizard of Oz is the one I’ve watched over and over.
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Some Like It Hot
Singing In The Rain
Casablanca
The Wizard of Oz
My late grandparents loved those movies.
Now, Voyager
Bringing Up Baby
North by Nothwest
Rear Window
Mildred Pierce
Ball Of Fire
Citizen Kane
How about Anything Goes?
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Citizen Kane, Rebel Without a Cause, North by Northwest, Singin’ in the Rain, Casablanca and The Wizard of Oz are my favorite movies from this list.
Also Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Gone with the Wind, West Side Story, The Sound of Music, Psycho and 12 Angry Men
Can you imagine if they tried to remake Some Like It Hot today? Two guys in drag? Yeah, hell no! I’d be afraid to show it in the South (especially Fla) Southwest (especially Tx), and the mid-West.
My favourites on this list are “Citizen Kane” and “All About Eve”. I can’t recommend them enough. I’m surprised that “It’s A Wonderful Life” didn’t make the list, nor “Roman Holiday”.
Roman holiday, gone with the wind, breakfast at Tiffany's, some like it hot, it's a wonderful life, casablanca and Gilda. I rewatch this every year😍
Most of these are good but overrated. There other movies, like Vertigo,Ben Hur and a ton of gems, that are all far better movies!! Vertigo and 90% of Hitchcock's movies,Film noirs,Bogart movies like Out of the past and so many more!!!
Who's "we"? People over the age of 60, apparently, from your list. I've never seen Gentleman Prefer Blondes, or Citizen Kane, or Rebel, or Sunset Boulevard, or All About Eve, oe Casablanca. I've seen Some Like It Hot once and North by Northwest twice. The only ones I've seen multiple times are Wizard of Oz and Singing in the Rain. And I know plenty of young people who've never seen Singing either.
Ms Mojo features mostly “golden age” classic movies.
Try giving more of them a watch some time, you may be pleasantly surprised.
It’s sad that you’ve missed so many terrific movies. But today, younger people are used to seeing different standards and actions onscreen that never would have flown in the “golden era”.
Progress? I’m not sure about that….
Hopefully Harry Potter is on the list
I think Harry Potter is too young of a movie to be considered classic yet. Give it another 25 years.
1
the hustler should be in the top 3. its not even on the list
🚢 "Titanic" (1953)
Why it is it that you always put movies from de 40s and 50s. There are great films of the 20s and 30s
MOJO talks too much.
