Marriage is a great institution but being with the wrong person is a living NIGHTMARE.
Life is too short to live in perpetual distress. Everyone has the ability to choose the quality of life they want to live. It is so important to take note of these signs ("red flags", "gut feelings" etc.), and to love ourselves enough to walk away from toxicity. When people show you who they are- believe them. Afterall, they know themselves better than you do.

I went through the same exact thing with my ex husband, saw the red signs before getting married and still went ahead with the marriage. He belittled me in every way and my marriage didn't last 2 years. I can tell you that I went through HELL and back. It's now 22 years since getting divorced and now I couldn't have asked for a better life.

Jodian Pantry, I went through a somethings similar in my marriage with my ex husband where I felt like I was losing me. I was angry and hurting. But God helped me through it. Sometimes we choose what our heavenly Daddy didn't want for us.
I understand what she is went through and is going through. It sounds like she was dating a person with Narcissistic personality disorder. As women, our “good girl” training makes us perfect target for these energy-suckers. (In good girl training at home and in society we learn to be people-pleasers and dishonor our own needs and intuition).These people wear a mask and appear so nice and charming at first, but when that masks slips off, things gets bizarre and mind boggling. These kinds of relationships happen so fast and are so intense , it leaves you feeling crazy. Congratulations Jodian for stepping out of that situation, because you are worthy of so much more. And thank you both for sharing this story. Healing from this type of emotional abuse will take time, because it was so intense and crazy-making. May you heal and be compassionate towards yourself. May you be at peace.
You speak the exact truth! I was dating someone like that (a narcissist) and believe me, the gas-lighting is real!!! And this was me stepping out of my relationship with God, for this person! But God!! I tell u, God took me out of that relationship and has been healing me! My advice to anyone reading this, Pay attention to those red flags and Run! Run and do not look back, because these psychologically deranged persons, will never change! Only God can change them and that's if they want to!!!

Exactly! And it’s always the “good girl” or the “girl that wants to please everyone” type of women these men prey on! But I can say that I’ve learnt my lesson. It’s really a hard place to come out of, especially when you’re seeking validation! Smh. Thank God for deliverance. 🙌🏾
He is a narcissist. Be strong Jody. There’s nothing you do or give that will ever be enough for them. They rob you of everything and left broken, confuse and trying to find yourself. After leaving such person don’t ever go back because each time it will get worse. They are demonic. I have been through the same thing, my positivity is I left him just before our wedding, it was a shock to him. I have gone no contact and trying to heal each day.
In a nutshell, the Affirmation says it all. "I Am ok with loosing to win again" thanks sim,sim and jodian.
@sim soul sessions we NEED a part two. I felt it when she said "I tried my very best" I'm pleased to know she found the strength to find herself and move on.
The worst thing is to already fall in love with a dutty man. Not many persons will understand unconditional love that lets you keep hoping for change and emptying yourself.
So true.. Never marry the son of a Jezebel. They'll destroy your home, msrriage and children. Instead of these woman try and find a son. They live and dictate to their sons how to treat his wife. Everything has to pass through them first. These dysfunctional people just wants to manipulate and control their sons.

I went thru the same mental abuse,I was bitter at first but I got over,so many women are going thru abuse in so many ways,I have been single 18 years and it makes you so afraid to step out and trust,every time you see the red flag now you run like hell.

My wife friend was in the same situation and still marry the guy after all the mental and physical abuse. I was so mad with her I didn’t even go to the wedding. Ladies do not ever let anyone abuse you, first sign of that, run like hell.

So many things resonated from this session. I still have to deal with aspects of this narcissistic behaviour because we have a child together. I am happy that that is not the case here because it would perpetuate so many of the negative emotions experienced. I heard you when you said the minute you started to stand up for yourself and say no........omg. Thanks for sharing, it confirms that so many of us are not alone as we think, we are afraid of the shame and the chatter....etc.

I am glad she chose to walk away and not continuing to to loose herself most times us woman are the sacrificial lamb the blessings is in the walking away .she is stronger than she think after my situation in my marriage I never thought I would live Simone but God is faithful.
It is very important for us to understand and heal from our past traumas so that we can enter into relationships being whole .Traumas will cause u to attract or want the wrong set of people.
