One thing I hated from CZcams coaches was their constant defense of CZcams; itâs always the creatorâs fault. I got tired of this position and started to follow my heart and remain true to my channel. Now, Iâm glad theyâre realizing that we are all putting the effort and not getting the same results.

EXACTLY!! Like I have said before, I realize it's CZcams's platform and I get it I really do. But us content creators are the ones putting in ALL of the hard work creating our awesome videos and getting very little out of it. I mean if it wasn't for us creators using the YoUTube platform to upload our awesome videos to there would not be a CZcams. They have to do something to make more evened out..
@@RenegadesGarage But to be fair Twitch is even WORSE. I barely go on Twitch but if you do every page everywhere is showing streams with 100k viewers and stuff. You have to click a half a dozen times to get to anything less than 1k viewers. CZcams seems to somewhat regularly randomly show some less than 1k subs channel. So that makes me happy, but still I think luck has something to do with it.
If you post a video and someone happens to see it right away and watches it all the way through, then suddenly your impressions get a boost because the algorithm thinks you got something good. If you post a video and you get no views in the first couple hours, then algorithm probably will never show it to anyone... BACK TO THE SLOTS BOYS! :P

This is more of the same of having good keywords in the title and repeat what works. That's definitely excellent advice but doesn't tap into the dark secrets of the algorithm. For example, why does the "Chip" video get so much love from the algorithm? Single word title and no description and 1 hour long doing nothing. Another video I found was memes with millions of views that has no description, doesn't describe type of memes, and the title is something like "Memes I copied off the Internet." And another video of cat memes with millions of views with no description and incorrectly spelled title with the main subject misspelled, "Best Car Memes." Instead of the word "cat" the title has "car", but the algorithm still recognizes it as cat memes and gives in millions of impressions. Does VidIQ ever do black-box testing on the algorithm using proven software engineering steps/techniques? That would prove valuable to creators.
As a new content creator I find that getting subscribers is hard, no matter how great the content is, finding the right audience is frustrating
Do more Shorts. Shorts tend to get more views and therefore more subs. Once you hit 1000, unless you're getting millions of views, focus on watch hours.

Yt doesnt care about subscribers. Its about views and retention. Pick your content and keywords. The subscribers will come.

We cant plant a seed and expect a tree tomortow, right? Be patient. The ocean is huge. We do not have to all fish in the same place. The money is there, we need to look.

Hey guys, I just decided to make my channel, and i love the journey. idk what i was waiting for!
To be honest, I am happy to be here, I do not want to bomb with 5 videos right off the get go, as this is something that will make me unmotivated to proceed if they do not get views. My prespective is...go the longer but much more sustainable route...where you are happy for each new sub and each new few watch hours.
No making 5 videos back to back is incredibly stupid advice. But what you CAN do is make 2 good videos that link to each other. Make sure they pair well and have a good segway at the end of one linking to the other. CZcams end screens show up a maximum of 20 seconds from the end of the video. Try to find a way to link the second video to the first video, if they are related even a "if you missed this video on ___ it clarifies this even more so click here to check it out."
If you can get 2 videos that some or most people will watch back to back that will have a significant boost to your channel. Sometimes I think viewers watching another of your videos is weighted more heavily than watching to the end of one video. But hey im still starting here so do your thing. Just dont do what I did and start a "choose your own adventure" end screen directing to TWO DIFFERENT videos that you havent made yet. 2 videos later and I still have to make a third to fill all those end screens! :P
You nailed it when you said (I'm paraphrasing), the algorithm is a reflection of your audience's actions. It's been working well for me, though in my head, of course I too have those million views per video dream lol

If I have some shorts that have copyrighted music but it says " No restrictions ( shorts policy)" so can I monetize my channel? Or I must remove the sound from those shorts or delete them first?
That's a great question and I'd like to know the answer also. I have videos like that but it's not clear if they can be monetized.

vidIQ.. So basically CZcams IS in a way holding us back by only putting our videos in front of a certain few viewers. Here's a thought, how about putting our videos in front of everyone and let the viewers decide if they want to watch it or not. I'm a mechanic and my channel is in the automotive/motorcycle/tools/welding niche but does that mean those kind of videos are all I watch? Of course not. I watch videos that have nothing to do with my channels niche. CZcams needs to get with the program here. If they did what I just mentioned there would be no need for a stupid "Algorithm".. Problem solved.

I uploaded my first YT video in 2007 and never took uploading seriously until 3 months ago.
I grew my channel to 20,000 subs with 2 years of daily shorts uploads but I gained 30k more subs in just 2 months uploading a daily vlog.
These videos help me a lot in figuring out the best path for my channel
You're doing really good getting lots of views as soon as you upload.
I feel like there's a million videos on how to write a script on CZcams. However they are so high level and generic just like the one in this video and several others on VidIQ.
They all say the same thing but no one ever goes through actually writing a script with different formatting, framework examples etc. it's just "write a good hook, tell a story, envoke curiosity etc" well duh..

I needed to see this. I have two new channels I am working on. One is a cooking channel and we arenât posting until we have at least three videos. The other one I posted just one video and now see why that was a bad idea. I think Iâll make the next four videos and restart on a fresh channel
I launched my first video on Tuesday. I thought about getting a few done and putting several up on day one. Then I thought about doing one a day for the first week while I figured out a schedule that works. Problem for me is that I don't have a lot of time so as I sat on the videos, I had a chance to overthink and chicken out. Too many responsibilities to prioritize. I've actually made that video too

I like Game theory example. Game Theory was a really great idea for a channel. It hooked in people who were gamers that wanted to go deeper into their beloved games. My point, topic is really important. I also like the 5 video tip. Great video and only a few minutes in!
I started CZcams in December 2nd 2018 while my channel was made 14 years ago. I wished I could change to 5 years agoâŠ
I started bad when I 1st started CZcams now am trying to do better. I make good videos but I donât get views & subs I deserve sadly.
Also I realised I used one of these tricks in the past & got over 1,000+ views & two above 10,000+.
We've been slowly getting more long form views, after crushing our channel with too much shorts. Thanks to these videos, and learning how to get better.

My first video got 2285 views in the first 7 days. The second video published a month later got 2295 views in the first 7 days. The third video published a month later got 4886 views in 7 days.

I have a question to YT gurus: why my recent videos have been recommended from channels that have nothing to do with my niche (the Sims 4), even though I specify the game in the title, tags and select it in category when uploading the video? They have been recommended from some tv shows, gossip channels and some other irrelevant content. It has affected my CTR greatly (obviously) and I don't know how to overcome this problem. Could someone please suggest how to fix the issue? My channels is not new, it has been up for over a year, so it's not like YT doesn't know what my content is about.
Not a guru, just on a YT journey like you. - Keep in mind the recommended views from other channels/vids are not completely made up from the other video's topic being the same as your video. Itâs also made up of that viewer's overall interests such as tv shows, gossip channels, some other irrelevant content, AND the Sims. Of course, it is best to have YT recommending from other videos that have a good mix of, viewers who like the Sims AND videos that are highly related to your topic.
You could try and âtrickâ or âteachâ YT (using the words of this video, not mine lol) by selecting one of your videos that you believe has good potential to do well and 1. Adding a link to it high up in the description of all your other related videos, 2. Adding a link to it in the cards of all those same videos, along with 3. Adding a link to it in the end screens. Let that all run for at least 4 weeks. The hope is that by YT seeing the viewers with the same interest that your target video has, YT will know what the viewer base is and give your video millions (too many?) of impressions outside of your channel.
Is the sims where you walk around as a character and interact with others who are doing the same? If yes, I think my wife played that years ago. We have a cat also. I hope the above helps you, Maria. - Daniel
P.S. One strategy thatâs helped me is to include as many related videos as possible in your playlists. Also, placing a link to the playlist within each video's description has helped increase playlist views/binging.

As for the channels from which my video was recommended, usually it is a mix of sims 4 videos and some other gaming related topics. It's that a couple of my recent videos have been recommended from what seems like completely random topics (I understand that those people might still be interested in the sims alongside with the tv shows, gossip and stuff, but it was just wierd).
And I think I also noticed a pattern: videos I watch on the same device (PC), but under a different google account influence the channels my videos are recommended from... I don't know why or how.. Maybe it's because I also watch sims 4 content from that account and also watch those channels, that alsgorithm thinks that people that watch those channels might be interested in the sims? I don't know if it made any sense, but I see the topics are very similiar.
What should someone do if they made their channel years ago and wanted it to suceed, would the upload 5 videos thing work or would they need a new channel from scratch?
For now, im just taking it slow recording gameplay playthroughs with no commentary for now till i evole into doing it. I was at around 20, something subscribers now at 34 subs. My one video of god of war got around 2k, which im fine with. I hope my channel does continue to grow at its own pace over time

If i upload a shorts and it gets high spike and starts gaining more and more views should i stop uploading the next scheduled shorts until it flats out or not making difference?
Still couldn't figure out if shorts algorithm pushes only one shorts at a time or can be multiple?
I had one of my shorts going to 60+% watched vs swiped and 70%+ watch length. It started blowin up and it didn't decrease on stats much.
Then uploaded another ones scheduled and it started slowing down and then did flat out at somewhere 9000 views.
Was other uploads impacted it or just simply stopped cuz other reasons?
I know some trick to have my shorts to 400+ views and 1,2k feed views but when it goes to 2k 5k 9k views cuz blowin up i have no clue if i flat it out with other shorts which goes to 400+ only.

I'm not VidIQ so take this with a grain of salt. With my channel it doesn't matter if I post a short while another short is still getting views. I have a few old shorts getting views daily and I upload shorts in addition to those shorts. I have 1 short at 188K and growing by 5,000 views/day. That short did nothing for 88 days then came alive. I had almost deleted it many times.
@@Joltverse Thank you for the answer and i'm happy about your success đ Appreciate your confirmation about this because was always messing me up why it suddently stops when all criteria met to keep on shelf :) Hope some of them will spike again in the future. In my niche i have unlimited upload choices. Making like 20-60 shorts each long live stream and can upload safely 6 a day with 4 hours waiting time to make sure all goes on shelf. On 3.5 hours 1 or 2 just not going on shelf. So in general i got now 1000 shorts waiting to be scheduled and making every time at least 3-4 the amount i can upload a day đ€Łđ€
@@MAVOmusicYT I do what I call "pruning" the short videos. If any short has flatlined for a month or more I usually delete it. The short video of mine that took off after 88 days always showed a tiny bit of growth each day, so I left it alone. But I have deleted at least 100 shorts by now. All of this, as you know, is very nerve wracking at times. The algorithm gives just enough to make it seem like it's going to start "happening."
