I am looking to create a similar sorta thing. What size gravel/grit did you use?

Hi Kris, I think I'd like to copy this idea, I first saw this about 2?, / 3? years ago and now I've decided I should have a try. What size are each of those small beds? I have an area of about 4 x 5m so I don't think I really need to break it up into smaller beds, as walking on the gravel between the plants, (for weeding or planting additional plants), shouldn't cause any damage should it?

Volcanic rock tends to be acidic, (e.g. granite), is this ok for these plants

I've been trying to source some of the black volcanic basalt in the UK. Is it the same as black or charcoal granite? Or is it something completely different?

Basalt is different to granite. I got mine from gravel master
