Seeing these Vintage muscles drive around Bathurst makes a nerdy 16 year old car guy like me smile, especially Garwood's Trans Am. So nice to see a track born Pontiac return to its roots.
@@uberschnilthegreat22 I know its hard man I sometimes get them confused but the coverage does help when it shows the chev badge plus I know garwood has had the car for a few years so I know kinda who drives what
Love seeing these less well known circuits. Symmons Plains is such a different track. That strongly cambered hairpin in the middle of two long straights is remarkable. Exciting racing.
What a race! awesome category! Interesting to see the difference in cars even between same makes like the Torana of Hansford on the limiter and Bowe seemingly not affected. Perhaps Hansford running lower profile tyres on the back than Bowe? and that making the difference in top end.
I suspect the team may just be protecting a new engine by running slightly lower peak revs. It wasn't unusual back in the day, then, once the engine had a few race miles under it then they'd open it up fully. It could also just be a glitch with the limiter that they haven't ironed out yet...
@@PhilipAJones slight difference mainly horsepower these are between 650 to 850 trans am I presume are around the 600 mark so a little below that of the lowest the matt white camaro is somewhere around the 750 mark and the mustang driven by steve johnson is around 800
I would love to get my hands on a car like these. Their exhaust note and engine specs make them sound like an old school version of the v8 supercar class with traditional shifting transmissions. I’d love my new edge mustang to be built just like these touring cars
Great racing. Always amuses me hearing guys from NZ calling Launceston "Lawn cess ton". I live near the original Launceston in Cornwall, UK. Most locals pronounce it "Lawns ton" but the real locals, proper Cornish pronounce it "Lance en".
Thank you for posting these races and making them available to watch in the UK. Looking forward (hopefully) to a great season of racing.
Way more interesting than Supercars

garwood in second place was camaro
@@thatsimracer666 ah, damn it, hard to tell those Trans Ams from the Z28s.

Hearing one of the commentators saying "that little five liter V8" made me chuckle a little bit.

Live at the track this was one of the most incredible races I have watched!
Awesome! Thanks, from Guyana
Go the Big Blue Valiant,

I wish tc races still sounded like this

It is classics old just old body designs?
would love to see Craig Lowndes in the TCM
