Because it just makes the cost of living go up even more, it feels like the existing residents are being forced out because others want to live cheaper. They come here with passports (not visas) they do it legally and most importantly they come to buy real state. They dont commit crimes, sell drugs or anything bad so its best for them to stay here as long as they want.

As of January 2024 you can get a Temporary Resident Visa at a Mexican Consulate in the US with proof of economic solvency of at least around $2600us per month. You can also get a TR Visa through the regularization program without having to prove economic solvency. I moved here a few years ago when the requirements were only around $1700us per month. Best thing I've ever done for myself! Buena suerte!
