I have the old 2.0 CPC200-U2W Plus in my Volkswagen, I wonder if getting the 5.0 is worth it.

I’ve had the older 3.0 and upgraded to 5.0. The consistency and speed the newer one offers. It’s worth an upgrade.

Just wondering how it handles multiple phones and does it do passthrough cable connection?
Ie if i put one in my partners car, obv her phone would be connected too it wirelessly, would i be able to just plug mine into the other port on the unit and utilized a wired connection on the odd times i jump in her car?

It will do pass through. USB A on the bottom, for a cable. If you connect it with other cars should work most the time. Dodge chargers won’t work, the one I’ve tested and Nissan can be hit or miss. You just need to pair it. Can only do one at a time.

If your vehicle supports wired CarPlay, it should work. I’ve never use the Mercedes so I can’t really say all offhand

No, you cannot, it just makes wired CarPlay, into wireless CarPlay.
