Mariam or Mary is the only woman mentioned by name in the entire Quran, hence the Sura (Chapter) is named after her. This sura is very powerful and always puts tears to my eyes when reading or listening to it.

One of my favorite verses in the Qur'an is when God is talking to the prophet (and the believers) when he was being attacked verbally and accused of everything negative, God was comforting him and telling him "Don't be sad by what they say", and reminds him that he was chosen after all to deliver the world's most important message to humanity, a message that is still immensely resonating with people over 1400 years later, coming all the way from a desert in the middle of the planet

@@tdktube I also read the book and the Bible of the yadhudi. When I read the Quran, I found the Bible insufficient. Because the author of the Qur'an and the author of the Bible are not the same. It can be understood when you read it. As a Muslim, we also believe in Allah and other religions and books.
I find that reading the Biography of the Prophet (PBUH) before or along with the Quran is very helpful. It puts the verses in context and makes it easy to understand. If you read it like a normal book from cover to cover it might seem disjointed as they were revealed over 23 years and not in the order they are compiled.

Another interesting thing is that Allah has mentioned Prophet Isa/Jesus as Isa Ibn Mariam numerous times. That means son of Mariam. She is a very very important figure in Islam.
Only mistake Mohamed made when writing the Quran here is that he states Mariam as the Daughter of Amran and sister of Aaron. But he got the wrong Mariam when he copied from the Bible, because the Mariam who is the sister of Aaron and daughter of Amran is the sister of Moses and thus lived 1400 years before Jesus. Mariam daughter of Amran can thus impossibly be the mother of Jesus. Here it reveals that Mohamed just made it all up. Check the bible and you will find who is Mariam daughter of Amran and sister of Aaron and ask yourself if these to mariams could really coincidentally have the same fathers AND brothers names.

You should understand the concept behind the marriage of a woman. One can marry a child but he can't do sex with her until she is grown to an age of maturity. Marriage is just a paper contract between man and woman, it doesn't mean if you make a marriage contract with child girl then you must do sex with her. Allah created man and woman and He decides an age where both of them become able to produce a child. This age is different for every man and woman. There are few girl who became adult at the age of 9 and able to produce a child, this happens mostly in warm area of the world specially in Arab countries, and few girl who even don't become adult till age of 14 or 15 because their monthly periods don't starts but they are able to have sex. The age of girls to get their first period is from 9 to 15 depending on their environment and their body structure. To become able for sex is different than to have monthly periods. Periods are only for producing a child and not more than that. That's why in the verse it's mentioned if a girls periods are not start yet even though she is able to have sex and you divorce her then she must have three months time to marry 2nd time. You can find out on the Internet the youngest girl who became mother. There are quite few reportedly cases.

She was the only female mentioned by name because Allah is stating the truth about her and that she was never married and lived all her life a virgin and that was miraculous. Arabic language is so strong in meaning , for example just a word in Arabic can mean a whole sentence in english, thats why Quran has a much stronger meaning in Arabic. God bless you and guide you to the truth. Keep reading and learning

The Quran is a whole and should be read as a whole. Every time you read it again, you come across verses that have never caught your attention before. An abstract example given in one sura finds its meaning in another verse of another sura. Do not abandon this, continue constantly. May God guide you.

Women are hidden treasures ,Islam respects their status .I Heard the following from Scholars regarding this topic that- NO other women is mentioned by name in Quran as their names also holds value and is respected and kept hidden (One of the words used for womenfolk is 'Mastoorat' which actually means Hidden). Maryam's (Peace upon her and May God have Mercy upon her) name was used because there was a need to clarify and establish the fact that Jesus was the son of Maryam and NOT the son of God as believed by the people of the book (Christians). It is stated in THE QURAN : "They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent." [5:17]. Some say that if there was no need to clarify this topic (that is ,if people didnt believed Christ as the son of God Almighty) then even her name would have been kept preserved and Hidden. They are not mentioned in the Qur’an if you go by the Quran. 2. For Adam a.s’ “wife” the Arabic word used is Zaooj meaning pair/partner. 3. For Imran a.s’ “wife” the Arabic word used is Imraat meaning business-woman. Later in the Quran you will read that married women be identified by their husband’s name in the society, for example, Mrs John. This is because if another man likes Mrs John and would like to propose her will save both embarrassment and an awkward moment. In the 21st century rich women have replaced that with a ring in their hand which is easily put away and she is single again, if needed. 4. The reason Maryam a.s. is mentioned by name is because ….. I will let you think for a moment. I know you can get to the answer…. Yes - you got it. This is because she is not married to anyone therefore, Allah used her first name. Note, besides Maryam a.s. there is another woman mentioned in the Quran by her first name and like Maryam a.s. she also has a chapter in her name. Ill let you find that lady’s name out. Now there are two ways of finding out a meaning of an Arabic word: 1 - Dictionary meaning, OR 2 - Explanatory meaning / derived meaning from the Quran as to how Allah s.w.t. used the word in His book (just like a baby learns to speak by listening to mother - without the dictionary) In this instance dictionary meaning will not help you. Therefore, we will look into the explanatory/derived meaning from the Quran. Following are some examples how Allah swt used the word Imraat: (3:40) Zakaria’s (a.s.) wife. (11:71) Ibrahim’s (a.s.) wife. (3:35) Imran’s (a.s.) wife. (12:21) Egyptian man’s wife. (12:30 & 51) Al-Aziz’s wife. (66:10) Noah’s (a.s.) wife and Lot’s (a.s.) wife. (66:11) Pharoah’s wife. (111:4) Abi-Lahab’s wife. The next reference I am about to present is the most important one i.e. (28:23) where the two sisters who were UNMARRIED and managing their father’s BUSINESS when Musa (Moses) a.s. approached them and asked what is the matter with you? (Paraphrasing) This is where Allah swt explained what He meant by Imraat. Therefore, all the above references where translator used ‘wife’ is an incorrect translation because here Imra’atayn is used for two single business managing girls. Additionally, (27:22-23) Queen Saba is also mentioned as Imraat, Her marital status is not known therefore, I assume her to be single. Finally in 33:50 Allah swt tells Prophet s.a.w. who he should marry and among the categories the last one is Imraat (businesswomen) are exclusively and purely (Khaalisatan) for him and not for the believers. A prophet can marry Imraat/businesswoman on a condition that she offers to marry him first, and then a prophet can decide to marry her or not. Prime example is Hazrat Khadija r.a. was a businesswoman at the time of Prophet Mohammad s.a.w. she sent the proposal and then our beloved Prophet s.a.w. accepted the offer as per Quranic Ayah 33:50. This is a wholistic approach to understanding Quran. All the references are from the Quran- the most authentic book and without doubt. So try not to be of doubters. Additional information: If interested, here is another example from the Quran; the Arabic word Kaukab generally, translated ‘a star’, however, Najam also means ‘a star’. Moreover, a handful of translators translated the word Kaukab as ‘a planet’ which is again not a meaning found in the dictionary, therefore it is a derived meaning. Huge advice. Stick to reading the Quran and skip the Hadith. There is so much in Hadith that is not authentic. Stick to the Quran and understand the message in it. You don't need much more to build a relationship with Allah. Ture, you need some information on how to Pray and how much money you give for Zakah and information about Haj. But that is way down the road, if ever. How to Pary is definitely not described in Quran, thus you need to learn it from other source. The Quran is all you need to build a relationship with Allah.

Yes and the people of Gaza like most Muslims memorize these verses by heart, so every time they go through hardship reciting them is the thing that keeps their faith strong. Mariam or Mary is the only woman mentioned by name in the entire Quran, hence the Sura (Chapter) is named after her. This sura is very powerful and always puts tears to my eyes when reading or listening to it.
Yeah, it's actually pretty funny since the quran seems to occasionally confuse Mary, mother of Jesus and daughter of Joachim, with Miriam, sister of Aaron and Moses and daughter of Imran. Quran 19:27-28 and 66:12. There are a few hundred years between these two characters.

One of my favorite Verses in the Quran is in the Surah of Mariam about Jesus talking in his Cradle.
One of my favorite verses in the Qur'an is when God is talking to the prophet (and the believers) when he was being attacked verbally and accused of everything negative, God was comforting him and telling him "Don't be sad by what they say", and reminds him that he was chosen after all to deliver the world's most important message to humanity, a message that is still immensely resonating with people over 1400 years later, coming all the way from a desert in the middle of the planet

I find that reading the Biography of the Prophet (PBUH) before or along with the Quran is very helpful. It puts the verses in context and makes it easy to understand. If you read it like a normal book from cover to cover it might seem disjointed as they were revealed over 23 years and not in the order they are compiled.

Another interesting thing is that Allah has mentioned Prophet Isa/Jesus as Isa Ibn Mariam numerous times. That means son of Mariam. She is a very very important figure in Islam.

Only mistake Mohamed made when writing the Quran here is that he states Mariam as the Daughter of Amran and sister of Aaron. But he got the wrong Mariam when he copied from the Bible, because the Mariam who is the sister of Aaron and daughter of Amran is the sister of Moses and thus lived 1400 years before Jesus. Mariam daughter of Amran can thus impossibly be the mother of Jesus. Here it reveals that Mohamed just made it all up. Check the bible and you will find who is Mariam daughter of Amran and sister of Aaron and ask yourself if these to mariams could really coincidentally have the same fathers AND brothers names.

I think you misunderstood the verse and start thinking that Islam allows child sex but in actual it's not like that. You should understand the concept behind the marriage of a woman.
One can marry a child but he can't do sex with her until she is grown to an age of maturity.
Marriage is just a paper contract between man and woman, it doesn't mean if you make a marriage contract with child girl then you must do sex with her.
Allah created man and woman and He decides an age where both of them become able to produce a child. This age is different for every man and woman. There are few girl who became adult at the age of 9 and able to produce a child, this happens mostly in warm area of the world specially in Arab countries, and few girl who even don't become adult till age of 14 or 15 because their monthly periods don't starts but they are able to have sex. The age of girls to get their first period is from 9 to 15 depending on their environment and their body structure.
To become able for sex is different than to have monthly periods. Periods are only for producing a child and not more than that. That's why in the verse it's mentioned if a girls periods are not start yet even though she is able to have sex and you divorce her then she must have three months time to marry 2nd time.
You can find out on the Internet the youngest girl who became mother. There are quite few reportedly cases.

She was the only female mentioned by name because Allah is stating the truth about her and that she was never married and lived all her life a virgin and that was miraculous. Correcting what the bible says that she was married to a guy named Joseph.

You can also read the Hadith which sheds light on the Qur’an, and gives many specific explanations like what you asked about.

The second time I read it was as someone who sees the workings of the workings of Allah/God/Divine within everything. The next time was through my Arabic translation (my version has both). It’s been a long time since I read it, and this time recent events have inspired me to read it again, this time just as a human. As with all times, I pray before to see and understand clearly, and to get any bias or pre-conception out of the way before I begin. May both our journeys through this book benefit not only our understanding, but our hearts, souls, lives, and fellowship with the Umma. Amin.

The Quran is a whole and should be read as a whole. Every time you read it again, you come across verses that have never caught your attention before. An abstract example given in one sura finds its meaning in another verse of another sura. Do not abandon this, continue constantly. May God guide you.

Women are hidden treasures ,Islam respects their status .I Heard the following from Scholars regarding this topic that- NO other women is mentioned by name in Quran as their names also holds value and is respected and kept hidden (One of the words used for womenfolk is 'Mastoorat' which actually means Hidden). Maryam's (Peace upon her and May God have Mercy upon her) name was used because there was a need to clarify and establish the fact that Jesus was the son of Maryam and NOT the son of God as believed by the people of the book (Christians). It is stated in THE QURAN : "They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent." [5:17]. Some say that if there was no need to clarify this topic (that is ,if people didnt believed Christ as the son of God Almighty) then even her name would have been kept preserved and Hidden. Allah Knows Best.

What a critical thinker you are - very nice. Not sure if someone already answered the questions about eve/hawa, Imran a.s’ wife a.s. and Maryam a.s.
1. Hawa/Eve are made up names. They are not mentioned in the Qur’an if you go by the Quran.
2. For Adam a.s’ “wife” the Arabic word used is Zaooj meaning pair/partner.
3. For Imran a.s’ “wife” the Arabic word used is Imraat meaning business-woman. Later in the Quran you will read that married women be identified by their husband’s name in the society, for example, Mrs John. This is because if another man likes Mrs John and would like to propose her will save both embarrassment and an awkward moment. In the 21st century rich women have replaced that with a ring in their hand which is easily put away and she is single again, if needed.
4. The reason Maryam a.s. is mentioned by name is because ….. I will let you think for a moment. I know you can get to the answer….
Yes - you got it. This is because she is not married to anyone therefore, Allah used her first name. Note, besides Maryam a.s. there is another woman mentioned in the Quran by her first name and like Maryam a.s. she also has a chapter in her name. Ill let you find that lady’s name out.

If Imraat means woman then how would you explain 33:50 where imraat are purely/exclusively (khaalisatan) for a prophet to marry and not for the believers? This means you and I cannot marry ‘a woman’ - doesn’t make sense.
One must think then what is the difference between the words Nisa (women) and Imraat (woman?)
Now there are two ways of finding out a meaning of an Arabic word:
1 - Dictionary meaning, OR
2 - Explanatory meaning / derived meaning from the Quran as to how Allah s.w.t. used the word in His book (just like a baby learns to speak by listening to mother - without the dictionary)
In this instance dictionary meaning will not help you. Therefore, we will look into the explanatory/derived meaning from the Quran.
Following are some examples how Allah swt used the word Imraat:
(3:40) Zakaria’s (a.s.) wife.
(11:71) Ibrahim’s (a.s.) wife.
(3:35) Imran’s (a.s.) wife.
(12:21) Egyptian man’s wife.
(12:30 & 51) Al-Aziz’s wife.
(66:10) Noah’s (a.s.) wife and Lot’s (a.s.) wife.
(66:11) Pharoah’s wife.
(111:4) Abi-Lahab’s wife.
The next reference I am about to present is the most important one i.e. (28:23) where the two sisters who were UNMARRIED and managing their father’s BUSINESS when Musa (Moses) a.s. approached them and asked what is the matter with you? (Paraphrasing) This is where Allah swt explained what He meant by Imraat.
Therefore, all the above references where translator used ‘wife’ is an incorrect translation because here Imra’atayn is used for two single business managing girls.
Additionally, (27:22-23) Queen Saba is also mentioned as Imraat, Her marital status is not known therefore, I assume her to be single.
Finally in 33:50 Allah swt tells Prophet s.a.w. who he should marry and among the categories the last one is Imraat (businesswomen) are exclusively and purely (Khaalisatan) for him and not for the believers. A prophet can marry Imraat/businesswoman on a condition that she offers to marry him first, and then a prophet can decide to marry her or not.
Prime example is Hazrat Khadija r.a. was a businesswoman at the time of Prophet Mohammad s.a.w. she sent the proposal and then our beloved Prophet s.a.w. accepted the offer as per Quranic Ayah 33:50.
This is a wholistic approach to understanding Quran. All the references are from the Quran- the most authentic book and without doubt. So try not to be of doubters.
Additional information:
If interested, here is another example from the Quran; the Arabic word Kaukab generally, translated ‘a star’, however, Najam also means ‘a star’. Moreover, a handful of translators translated the word Kaukab as ‘a planet’ which is again not a meaning found in the dictionary, therefore it is a derived meaning.

mary peace be upon her is the only woman mentioned by name in the quran. this shows you the level of honor that allah aza wa jal granted her and jesus peace be upon him.
Huge advice. Stick to reading the Quran and skip the Hadith. There is so much in Hadith that is not authentic. Stick to the Quran and understand the message in it. You don't need much more to build a relationship with Allah. Ture, you need some information on how to Pray and how much money you give for Zakah and information about Haj. But that is way down the road, if ever. How to Pary is definitely not described in Quran, thus you need to learn it from other source. The Quran is all you need to build a relationship with Allah.
So much in hadith that is not authentic????? Cmon man
the same community that transmitted the quran also transmitted hadith, tradtional sayings and actions of the prophet, the best interpretor of the quran is the prophet, why are they trying to turn the faith into a religion like prostentant christiantiy, who were the fastest groups to fall into atheism

How do you learn to understand the Quran?
How do you learn your 5 daily prayers?
This is why better educated people of the World must read Quran.
