A new puppy is similar to a new baby. Either take it to a vet or use Formula. Soft dog food. Cuddle in a warm blanket and love it. That's a good start. Warm the blanket in the microwave or water bottle. Not too warm. Human milk might be too rich for it's tummy. I've nurtured 2 new borns who lost their mom. Good results.

I would have picked him up in a heartbeat, held him close so he could feel the warmth from my body and my heart beating and talked to him in a loving and reassuring tone, that he was ok now. People here are right, he chose you out of all the houses in your street. I hope your parents understand that he was abandoned and allow you to keep him. It doesn't work like that everywhere. There are plenty of millions of stray dogs in India ( not abandoned ones).
Well they are stray dogs because they have been abandoned by irresponsible dog owners or breeders trying to make fast money and people didnt buy these puppies so as they grow older they are abandoned by the dog breeders.

People will happily spend thousands to buy a labrador but wouldn't make an effort to adopt one pariah offstreet bcoz of misinformation campaigns carried out by breeders who cancel these dogs as wild & untrainable.These poor pariahs were never bred by mill owners at least here in our country.These have been living on streets for centuries.these were never adopted in first place.But now things definitely are changing for the better.
