The best part about this wasn’t even the jokes it was all the interactions in between. I’m was still laughing at the “you think you should go back on strike for a couple hours? Think about what you did?” “You know we should.” And then the whole last part happened and I’m dying with laughter.

It's EXTREMELY unprofessional to laugh at your own jokes (except on rare, appropriate occasions). But hey, Amber's entire character and persona is of a low-class, uneducated, extremely annoying black woman. I don't understand why she chose that 'brand' of comedy. It kind of glorifies the stereotypical, loud, annoying, ghetto black woman, and did I say IT'S INCREDIBLY ANNOYING AND DEGRADING JUST TO LISTEN TO OR WATCH. It's such low-level humor, and an insult to blacks, quite frankly.

Aww this really felt like they did this one mostly for themselves. They all looked so happy and delighted! Audience seemed a little quiet, meanwhile I'm literally slapping my knee at Seth's practiced punchline and grinning at their obvious joy. Yay they're back!! 🥰🥰

Amber collapsing in laughter at the Cosby joke & her wink of approval at Seth's delivery filled me with joy. The world is a sadder, duller place when she isn't lighting up our screens.

I don't think any other late-night show could pull something like this off; the authentic interpersonal bonds, the palpable joy of being reunited, etc. You can't script what makes Late Night special.

Some people have a laugh that can just fill your soul with joy, Amber has one of those laughs.

@@Ruintheus Yeah. This one wasn't that great. This is a pretty good segment conceptually, and they've definitely told really funny jokes on it before, this one seemed like a miss though. The best joke was Seth asking Amber if she wanted to go back on strike after her joke bombed.
Jenny's Cosby face before losing control of herself is priceless.

Man, Amber SLAYED with the "blind man in a Temple sweatshirt" - my jaw literally dropped.
As a Jackal, I couldn't help but notice that Seth is still wearing a suit in the Jokes Seth Can't Tell title card even though he has exclusively dressed like it's casual Friday at the accounting office for the past two years.
The graphics department don't feel like dealing with his nonsense. 😉
Also, he appears to have an actual haircut in that card
He probably went down to ask them to change it and they were all "ohhhh did we forget? ohhhhh noooooo" and then they didn't change it 🦊
He complained to graphics and they were, like, “It’s intentional, Seth, take the hint.”
Plus the ripping sound is still in place, one would think that 5 months was long enough to re-record that 😅

Oddly I think this segment is funnier when things don't go like clockwork and they legitimately crack themselves up. This was awesome.
Amber saying, “you should look up what he did” and then doing the cosby hands and face from his show intro and the band playing along had me dying! That was hilarious, and the whole segment was gold! The jokes are secondary to the giddy joy of these three messing with each other and having a ball. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I've never wanted to be in the writers room more than I have now knowing that there was a portion of the day where Amber was trying to teach Seth how to say that punchline.
What I love about Seth is that he s the only one of the main late show tv hosts who openly talk about his team and especially the writers. I ve never seen the others do so. Amber and Jenny seemed to be as happy as him… and hopefully in a while we ll have a surprise inspection too 😊
That's cause he came straight from SNL, which is an ensemble show, into this, the others came from the stand-up route into their own show.

Still I prefer Seth approach. He s also the only one I saw, as I watch you tube only, who said a word about his strike and the authors. I Don t feel like he receives the credits he deserves.
@@dragonetta1981I think you’re forgetting about Jimmy Fallon. Seth followed the exact same route that Jimmy did (SNL > Weekend Update specifically > Late Night). Seth is also a stand up comedian. I’ve seen him perform live and he has a special on Netflix called Lobby Baby. So SNL should have nothing to do with why his show is different from the others.

@@knockeledup I only watch through CZcams. Seth team posted a segment just about this, so it was out of the monologues etc.
Still the few I have seen of the others, I never heard mentions of their writers during the show. The surprise inspections or Jokes Seth can t tell highlight them and give them a face. It s important to acknowledge people all year round.
I cannot describe how happy I am to have Jenny and Amber back on my phone. My boyfriend on the other hand may not be as happy as it's currently 2am and Amber's "It'll end better than mine f***in' did" actually made me laugh and wake him. 😳

Agree, the jokes themselves were very weak but it was great to see them getting involved, good energy and a lot of fun all round!
Seth's fearless 1,000 yard stare after delivering that final joke is inspiring. Brother rode that like the bomb in Dr. Strangelove and I respect him for that.
I like how delighted they are to be back together to the point where they basically abandoned the false outrage part of the segment.

@@cassidya5629 I didn't get it either, but what I've found online is that Bill Cosby went to Temple University in Philadelphia, then served as a trustee until 2018. I don't know if there's a connection between the university and the 'date rapes' he was accused of, but recent reports have stated that he has become practically blind. Was his show one of the funniest / best? Objectively, yes; was this joke worth the work it took to get there? less certain.
At first I thought of the Clayton Brigsby skits until the Temple Sweater part.

Bill Cosby had a show that was one of the well known black shows in the 80's-early 90's - so one would expect it would be on the list to be considered
Bill Cosby has a degenerative eye condition called keratoconus, which impairs his eyesight and he is legally blind now - he would be the blind man asking
He went to Temple University and even served as trustee, hence the Temple Sweatshirt reference.
The list wouldn't just be about any black shows but those that provide positive addition AND long lasting legacy and pride.
Given the SA crimes he has been accused and even admitted to under the legal protection of deposition, his connection makes people not want to reference his show due to it's legacy being tainted.

What a treat! We had hilarious jokes, the delightful trio back together again, AND dinner theatre! (Seth and Jenny acting out a couple blaming each other for their kid being gay, complete with miming rolling over away from each other and covering up with the blanket... lol, and scene. I knew it was a Cosby joke but I wasn't sure enough because I had a hunch and that was it it just didn't make sense to be anyone else like the context made it certian but I didn't get it

After listening to the podcast, theres nothing better then Amber's joke falling flat and Seth's ABSOLUTE joy in the fact that it bombed.

I love how much fun they're having. Ironically I randomly saw a video about people hiding what they knew about Cosby today and learned he went to Temple University, so I did get Amber's joke. (Loved you and your sister's book Amber.)
I'm a former sportswriter who worked in Philly in the late '80s (before we knew of his dark side), and saw Cosby at many Temple basketball games. So I got the joke right off the bat.
Honestly, the best part of this bit is the chemistry between the three of you. Welcome back, and I'm glad you all got most of what you wanted.
