Yeah, yeah. I know, this video's old. But that's not the point.
The point is that I have been reflecting on the actual game of R:LD. I personally started playing when the G section was first added, and my god, has this game changed so much. When I first got to the G section, I was pretty damn happy, because I felt like I had accomplished something. Now, I'm watching the game change from the moment I started playing until I lose interest or just the end of R:LD. The community might not be all the best, but I enjoy the game for what it is. Even if people hate it. I think the feat that R:LD pulled off with trial and error is amazing, and change is what draws me to this game.
A good example is Old G-60, to the current G-60. G-60 just started off as a false despawner, rushing to the current room at fast speeds, 'disappearing' and then rushing back. It had a relatively simple design that nowadays would be considered crappy. Today, G-60 is a movement detector, acting similarly to old G-60, but not false despawning, rather just rushing, staying in the current room for a bit, and then rushing back. G-26's despawn and spawn sounds are also something that have changed dramatically. So has A-225. A-275. The whole god damn B section, as a matter of fact.
The older variants of R:LD, even if R:LD isn't that old, still give off feelings of nostalgia to me, and I believe that's how a game is done right.
