Mahindra KUV100 - First Drive Review

- Mahindra's brand new offering in the sub-4 metre SUV space, the KUV100, is here. Priced attractively at Rs 4.42 lakh (ex-Pune), the ‘young’ SUV comes loaded with features and options. We got an opportunity to spend a couple of hours with the Mahindra KUV100 on the company’s test track at Chakan recently. Here’s a video of our first impressions on the Mahindra KUV100. Watch out for a detailed road test that will follow shortly.
very aggressive car from front just like suv but back is a hach. overall impressed. car looks very nice in person than seeing it on video. good job Mahindra.
Front grill is very short still it's a unique car my k4 Diesel version gives mileage of 24 km i am very satisfied
That wrap around shades headlamp design and the side profile.. What were they thinking?!
Its like deliberately spoiling what could have been a very good design benchmark for the segment.
Really good, budget vehicle, cool and compact.

KUV100 looks to give good competition to mid-level family cars in the market.
Was eagerly awaiting for this review.. a bit disappointed with square designed wheel arches but it does look Kool..
I think mahindra have made this for college student for example a person who completed a study of bcom or bba or anything else and wanna take some break and also want to earn and after earning he can buy this car and take to college or take to goa or anything else with friends ,afcource for further sudies like mba or anything else this car is fill full of technologies like most important features which we see is bluetooth which it haves and youngster loves that i hope next version might also android auto or car play
Guys its gives feeling of Suv as i have kuv 100 diesel. Its ride superb only things i can say features on fully loaded are less like touch screen and rear ac. Rest is good awesome

Had test drive experienced same feel as per ur review. i can say its best of the best car so booked it in mysore.

Side profile looks really awkward...
give it R15, 205 tyres with a rugged slick alloy wheels, that will take the mileage n power a bit down but will work wonders for its looks

Looks good overall even though the style statements arent clear, hope someone will soon review the Engine Performance especially for Petrol as Mahindra calls it as peppy compared to K series of Suzuki.
Co. Fitted CNG variant available in Mahindra cars? This one?

It seems to be a cool car with attractive...although its a hatchback but look like a mini SUV..so for this price segment i would say mahindra has produced better option. cheers
hope there is AMT version ....city driving is a big hassle.....for senior citizens
well... looks are quite subjective... but it looks quite decent for the price tag.
at the price point one cant expect a super performance.. its just another car with more space and different styling
what about AIR CONDITIONER can it manage in indias hot sizzling heat..?

I don't like small size wheels on this motor, would have been good if mahindra used large sized wheels, I know it would have affected average but I think then complete justice would have done by mahindra as it would have increased ground clearance and the car would have looked more of a suv then what it looks now

Were is the HANDBRAKE?...
tyre size must be at least 14" for this type of car.... and that dashboard mounted gear changing lever can be disturbing for city drive.
I loved this car.
It looks like a school guy, who worked out really hard in gym, and have huge muscles while just being in a 5th standard.

Front and rear profile are gud.space is gud...but side profile is unusual.ground clearance is 170mm not so SUVish..missed auto climate...

I think companies are starting to copy the Hyundai design policy, first Tata and now Mahindra. Nice one, nonetheless
I would love to see the Indian car market succeed worldwide but if they keep making cars that look like this they never will. Sure my indian mates point out the different requirements for buyers in india but this means they won't ever work on the world market. With affordable labor in india they should already be a bigger player in the auto manufacturing sector than they already are. More well paid jobs for the working class in india is needed and can only make india a great country going into the future.

Mahindra, pls remember SUV stands for SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE, SUV is categorised based on capabilities of a vehicle, not by odd design of a vehicle.
Front bumper looks too bulky.... Also the small tires does not tune well with its "macho" looks

This car is a kind of experiment from Mahindra.......
some of its storage options and its price make it better than ford eco sport and Renault Kiwid.
We can just hope good for this mahindra mini cooper....haha
Not impress in the length of the car equal to height and width . even shorter then Kwid. same time really appreciate Mahindra for concentrate on safety like std ABS EBD from base and Airbag option from base. no other japan and Korean maker providing such a thing from this price point. over all side profile not impress due to the short length...

out look is very very good, but in the question of interior specially Gear Lever, and Hand Break looking as Like Old Tampo........ 5 seater is sufficient for hatchback car but i dont know understated why mahendra wants to make Tampo Trax. Tootally Bakwas Car.

Anybody who calls this an SUV should be given a serious bashing :D. I was really getting impressed with the looks in the front and then suddenly all my expectations nose dived downwards after seeing the side profile and the rear. Mahindra had a good 300 odd mm to play around with. They have chopped it abruptly at 3675 mm, extremely sad indeed. This looks like a mini XUV in the front and Kwid from behind. The gear lever and the front middle seat looks not so "KOOL". It's going to be another flop like the TUV300.
