- Wow. Took a little over two years and recollection of the shortcut to turn Ib windowed, but I finally did this. The font isn't super blocky and there's actually sound this time.
That said, I did make this one a significant amount faster than the other video. If it's too fast, I'm sorry. I'd advise just pausing the recording to read what you missed, if it's not obvious.

Ya know when Mary says "I'm really, really sorry"? She is sorry. She's sorry for trying to hurt Ib and Garry, and only now can she say so. That, combined with the fact that Ib is gone, poor girl' gonna be very sad for a long time. At least she has Garry to cheer her up.
Mary never wanted to hurt Ib or Garry. Even though she says she hates Garry, she doesn't. As siblings, they seem to be quite close, and in A Painting's Demise, she calls to him for help. She wants to be his friend, but would rather escape with Ib, who is her age and she immediately really really loved. She loves Ib, and is desperately trying not to get attatched to Garry because she wants to escape with Ib instead of being all alone forever and ever. She's just a little girl and doesn't know any better, and you scrap art all the time, right? But she is still sorry for causing them harm, and is really just a sad, insane, lost and lonely girl.

And since she seems like the only one aware of everything that happened in the Fabricated World, now it seems like the whole real world is intending to take her into a massive guilt trip: Garry talking about the red rose statue that broke on the way to the gallery; Garry asking her about the candy that he gave Ib before; Ib's parentes talking about how they wanted a child, but never had one, and giving Mary what once was Ib's birthday gift handkerchief; and of course, the painting of a dead, self-sacrificed Ib. Well shit, Mary, I feel like the universe is out to make you regret ever coming to the real world.
Also, I can't help but wonder what was the thing between her and Guertena (actually, I'd enjoy ANY info about Guertena), since in the ending "A Painting's Demise", after Mary finds out she's all alone at the gallery, she calls for Ib, then after some relutancy she calls for Garry, and only at the edge of despair, when she feels like all hope is lost she calls "father...", like she REALLY doesn't want to, and like Guertena is literally the last person she would call for help. I find that curious, at least.
Reading that makes me feel like a dick for fucking with Mary.
I purposely got all the endings where she gets fucked over.

@@paraisosintetico6173 Well perhaps it's because Guertena is her father in a way being the person who painted the child named Mary and probably either being someone who never had kids and wanted kids pit all his spiritual feelings into her painting making her come to life, or she was once his real or adoptive daughter who died and after being painted her spirit went on to posess the painting, with the help of Guertena who died of heartache while making her piece in both theories through dying.
2014-2015 were the glorified years for this kind genre of game...

True, but memory serves me right it started much earlier, I rmb playing Ib and Witch's House back in '11 and '12 and can't forget the classics like Yume Nikki and Corpse Party (which amazingly became an entire franchise) that helped kick off the craze back in the last 2000s
This ending is probably the most satisfying. Ib gets to save both the people she cares for and they both live a normal life at the cost of herself. It also humanizes Mary, showing how she isn't just a selfish being with no regrets. She realizes that the one thing she wanted had too high of a price.
i dont think shell do well in the real world without ib tbh. Cause ib knows how unhinged she is and could probably fix her in the real world if it is even possible so she doesnt become a murderer psychopath. And the point of even being in the real world in the first place was so Mary has someone to play with , and i dont think she likes to play with garry who is an adult.
plus living with "guilt" for killing ib , being that shed rather kill garry tbh, mary could become even crazier than before

i thought this ending was canon when i first discovered this game. mary canonically asked ib who she wanted to leave with, and her answer would decide who dies. and this ending is based off if she chose to sacrifice herself to save both her new friends

The Living Liver it isn’t solely determined by that, there’s a whole friendship system you have to keep up to determine who you’ll side with in the end
Eh, I’m not a fan of the whole “selfless sacrifice” type endings unless it’s a character that’s built up well enough and you attach to. Ib is just the player character, she doesn’t have an established personality, you dictate what she says to the other characters, but even basing it off of dialogue options she still doesn’t really have a personality, not that that’s a bad thing since she’s a player character, but there’s nothing about her that would suggest her sacrificing herself so willingly like this for people she met not even that long ago. I like her somewhat still but Garry was a nice guy and seemed like he’d sacrifice himself for Ib if need be, which he does in one of the alone endings. If it wasn’t for him Ib would’ve died much, much earlier on in the story. Personally, I’d have wanted one where both Mary and Ib survive, but Gary dies sacrificing himself for Ib.

Alongside Promise of Reunion, I like this non canon ending. Mary gets out, Gary doesn't die, I like it! You dont really get attached to Ib, but then again I see Ib as the player and sacrificing yourself is less sorrowful than getting bad endings for characters you grow to like

I think Ib is not dead but she will be suffering fron the pain until someone revived her rose. As a proof, Gary's rose had died because of the painting but after Ib revive his rose, he become alive again.
Like I said, I love this ending the kit becuase it's an act of selflessness, to sacrifice yourself for the other 2. Yes, Mary is a bit crazy, but Garry is technically a bit crazy too. This, this should've been canon

Mary was said to be like a daughter guertena never had and wished he had. and only 2 souls could leave... does that mean two related souls (Gary and mary) + a different soul (Ib) can't leave? is that why only two could? it's like 3 choices, either Gary and ib leave as friends, Mary and ib leave as sisters or Mary and Gary leave as siblings.
You see, the thing is, Mary is not a real human. She's a work of art like the Lady in Red or the various enemies you see around the exhibit. In Mary's painting room, there's a piece of paper that says that she wants to get out soon, but for her to do that, she needs to replace someone in the real world and go with someone from the real world to guide her. We do see her try to go alone in 'A Painting's Demise' but she's locked inside the exhibit and left forever wandering in darkness because she doesn't have someone to guide her. She HAS to replace herself with either Ib or Gary, and go with Gary/Ib into the outside world. No matter how hard you try, only two people can truly exit.
in short, one has to be there to replace mary as a painting of guertena
(maybe that's how his painting is alive, tho i'm still not sure...)

I know the creator isn't fond of this ending (for totally understandable reasons, it could feel rather OOC, and it does kinda trample over the intended story), but. My God, did Mary and Garry's "IB!!!" portraits tear my heart out. This is so mean. Why would someone do this. I need to lay down and cry after this. *_I adore it._*
Come back to see this end and just realized that it a really sad ending Ib is gone. Mary have to feel guilty forever and might be even guilty because she try to kill Gary and now he really nice to her. Gary doesn't remember Ib well he might be the only happy one in this ending.
If this was a ending, i would say how to get it :
1 ) You need to have garry alive and have the exact same relationship with you.
2 ) You need to have mary alive and have the exact same relationship with you.
3 ) Finish the game with 1 life ( Rose ) left, like it has to be 1 rose.

It's an ending in the hardcore edition of the game. Though the creator of the game told the creator of the hardcore edition to delete it. Now there are only a handful of people who still have this edition of the game.

I don't understand why - People have to care a lot about something to create for it, and it's not like he's losing any money, because Ib is a free game. I don't know if any links still exist

Ah, the wonderful fan made ending that got permanently removed from the net. Though I kind of find it weird that we (the ones that prefer this ending the most) would "happily" send the 'best character' in this series to her death.

I was hoping this would be another cannon ending to the game. Since it did give a question of who would you leave with: Gary, Mary or surrender yourself.
Damn. This is a sad yet beautiful ending. Gary doesn't have to die, and Mary doesn't have to die(plus she gets to get out of the painting world). But it's at the cost of our own life. Because as much as I hate it, the fact of the matter is that only either two humans can escape, or a human and a painting can go(but at the cost of another human being left behind). And Mary can't leave by herself either( Ib's "a paintings demise" ending pretty much showed what happens)

shes very easy to empathize for actually. shes lonely, and that leads her to going insane, and the only way she is allowed to get out is if she replaces someone else. killing them is indeed a stretch, but like i said, she’d gone insane due to lonliness
I think it's clear why the creator disliked this, he made Mary as a fearful monster being human like the most scary thing about her, she can pretend to be at your side, pretend to be you, pretend to be others, seem like just another girl like ib, while really being just another paint monster. This regards Mary as a real human not an evil Pinocchio with different fantasy mechanics
Its also worth noting that she is the closest to a boss or an antagonist we have, it's really dumb to ever think of her as our third protagonist, this misunderstanding is only possible in this anime communities were we ship anything that barely looks alike, we root for anything that is bright and protagonist like, oh well, normies

even tho it isn't a canon ending this for sure it's my favorite.
Forever Together and Promise of Reunion are really nice seeing the saved Characters all happy, but there was always one character who ends up trapped or death in the Painting World and we couldn't do Anything about it, just sacrifice it, but this ending, this give us the option to save them both and for IB, who was trapped in the Painting World, she's happy in her death knowing that both are alive and safe from this world.

I played IB at release (back then, i was 12, not too far from Ib's age.) I remember watching a pewdiepie let's play - but decided the game was so cool i would play it before i watched the following let's plays. I was scared shitless at every turn. After every session, I would get paranoid, not daring to leave my room at night, lol. I cried at the endings.
Fast forward to current day, I just finished the remake! (Really happy this was made!) All-in-all, I was very satisfied and had several moments where my heart was pounding like crazy, dispite knowing a majority of the scares by heart.
Now, I stumbled upon this video and holy shit, I cried so bad... ;_;
This is such a good ending. God bless everyone involved in this. It fits right in with the other endings.
Sad to see that kouri didn't like it. Welp, I think Japan has a different cultural mindset regarding intellectual property, (and consequently modding culture) so it makes sense, I suppose.
It's confusing though, doujinshi culture in Japan is supposively pretty big, so it's strange that it isn't liked here?

I NEED TO SEE A SEQUEL. I think everyone else agrees. We need to see more of the gallery world and how it works. Beacuse we saw it change reality in the normal world in some of the endings. Is it just me or does it feel like the gallery feel alive. Like its a living being.
It's an SCP confirmed. Also, I think a sequel would ruin it. The best things don't stay forever.

And perhaps only Ib's selflessness could bring Mary back to her senses. Even though she is just a painting, but she somehow has a soul of her own. Plus, she likes Ib so much to the point that recognizing her as a friend the first time she met Ib.

Sometimes I really wish this ending was Canon.
After watching Pikasprey play through the remake and seeing all the ending from looking it up, then reading there was a fan made ending (which is this exact one).
It's painful to see that. Not only does it connect dots and make references to the other endings.
Here's what I got from it. Garry forgot everything since outsiders don't remember anything when being brought back from the painting world, like shown in Promise of Reunion and Memory's Crannies, but paintings exiting into the world preserve their memories from when they were in the painting world, like shown in A Painting's Demise. So when Mary says, "I'm very very sorry" it isn't towards Garry, but rather Ib. And maybe Garry but mostly Ib. The reason being is that Ib made the promise of exiting out with Mary but instead, forced Garry and Mary out to stay behind. Letting Mary hold onto that guilt and altering the memories of Ib's parents and Garry's, hence the apologies she makes. And since she preserved those memories of when Ib sacrificed herself and Garry mentioning the new portrait, of Ib, Mary couldn't hold it back any more and broke down.
I love this fan made ending. It's just perfect in every way that I see it. And I just love communities who love the game they play, to make endings like these where it hits the hardest to those who know, maybe even outsiders.

It did kind of bug me that there was no audio in the old video, but honestly it's nice to see this end in better lightening.

+MrGameguycolor I'm sorry a bout the lack of audio in the last video, by the way. My craptop back when I recorded that was completely incapable of recording sound. It was a complete hassle. That's the primary reason this took so long.

I guess most of those people didn't need the audio to enjoy & discuss the ending.
But aside from that, do you plan on making another video after this?
It still absolutely boggles my mind that the video reached that number. I'd occasionally check in on it, and it was flabbergasting.
In terms of future content... I'm just not sure. I'm too sure what I would try and get into. I've occasionally considered gaming, but my laptop, while better, is still pretty bad. As such, I'd rather not.
If all else fails, I may try and do more stuff like this - Even though I only fleetingly managed to grab this. It could prove a fun project, finding out how this was made and doing it for other stuff.
It was one of the 1st videos to show the ending, & a lot of people have started many conversions through the comment section. So it's a bit understandable to see why it took off so well in my opinion. (Maybe you should enable ads & make money off that video. :P)
Ah yes gaming on the internet, it always seem like you need the higher dollar equipment in order to run any game at a decent rate that wasn't made through RPG Maker. I'm stuck in the same boat with my laptop & it really does limit what I can play on my channel.
If you're going to stick with making more videos on games like this. Then by all means, go for. Play whatever you like, heck maybe experiment with other/maybe lesser know RPG maker games.

It definetly isnt one of my favourite endings but it was really well made(props to that) and also it really sad and made me tear up abit to an extent. I wish it was canon but i could see why the creator wouldnt want that
I noticed I am not getting long for me, I always feel I lost something since I was brim. I am more easily to feel tired and pain… I need to keep something change in the time… you have to remember, you get a pain childhood, it’s longer than you think…unluckily you end when you start to feel happier… this is where you like or love from you time…you must be control by your imagination…and that is pretty. Don’t think you are strange, that are the most happiest time you get…don’t care about are you the sister or brother you just need to know you want to love and be love…the only thing we trust is love…it’s the second strongest feeling we get in our brains . Human never know the closest and secret thing in the world is our brain…they lie by human and time, space…. I fail to end….you need to get into your brain or end yourself….otherwise you can survive…..this is you life…. We stilll can save if we work hard….but the chance is close to zero…. The author had a choice of colors and music that perfectly match the environment and the story of the game, even though it is graphically limited, everything is detailed, everything is thought, everything is depressing, sad and with a background of hope that is almost dying.
In IB the terror is in the environment, in the despair of never being able to get out of the chaotic and melancholy beautiful illusion.
Everything is leaving, suffering, crying, asking for help in some way, entities are suffering due to their painter creator who is crumbling along
Childhood drawings, past traumas, desires.
Everything was gathered there in one place, brooding, wanting to disappear.
Seeing this, we even feel sorry for these ''evil' entities, this is much clearer with the Mari Entity, we also have the Entity that accompanies the IB all the time, which I believe is a painting by the painter there too, he is the feeling of hope that exists in that world.
Mari hates him so much, she doesn't want to be erased, because she knows that the author wants that, he wants to erase all that torment. Mari doesn't want to be alone, she doesn't want to die, she doesn't want to be forgotten, this desire is so strong that Mari acts violently not to be alone.
Mari's entity has life, emotions, feelings, meaning. Like all the works of its creator.
It's something totally interpretive and I think of IB that way,
your story is beautiful, told in a simple way, but very meaningful to everyone who played it
Seeing this makes me realize how much I wished there was another ending added in the remake. Not this one in particular, but just, something.
the ending in original game is actually unlikely, when Mary trades with Garry, she doesn`t hate ib but when she doesn`t trade, she hates them both, and want them to die. you can see how ib behaves when garry tells ib that shes not human based on the route, (or i dont remember if ib actually behave different) but i remember, for example , ib hugs or doesnt hug garry and, Mary tells them in her room; BOTH OF YOU ARE OKAY?! (i dont remember again)
