You ever notice how whenever there's a female/male fusion, it almost always skews female? The desire to draw pretty ladies is too strong
I think that's part of it, but I also think it's objectively easier to feminize a masculine figure than it is to masculinize a feminine figure. Widening chest/hips, adding breasts, removing beard, fairly simple to make a male character female. But on the other hand, other than beards, men don't have as many immediately obvious features to focus on (so long as the subjects are still clothed anyway). You take a female character and remove the boobs, now you have a female character who's a bit flat chested. Not to say it can't be done, it's just a little harder. So in a case like this the default would be to stick with the female body model a bit closer and use the male face/style more prominently.
But of course I could just be BSing and everyone just wants to draw women. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents
@@eu6744 Exaggeration is stylization and it goes multiple ways, not just making girls sexier. Fat dude being almost round, over muscled characters, super tall characters you name it, it exists. In the end the point is to have fun. If you feel annoyed, just stay clear of content like that. That's the best you can hope for.

That story about you not getting to work with Rooster Teeth hit home as a fellow Australian that dreamed of working with them. Probably three or four years after that time - it would have been when Monty was working on RWBY volume 2 - I was working on my writing portfolio at uni; and I was doing a lot of script work. Part of me always wanted to apply to work in America, because the industry for animation, script writing and voice acting in Australia at the time was basically zilch. I was also a massive RT fan and aspiring cosplayer - I promised Monty a Sun Wukong cosplay when he ran an animation panel in Melbourne, unfortunately I didn't finish it before his passing.
Anyway; I was writing a lot of interesting content, mostly original script and novella work with some actual audio recording of original poetry and monologues, but because I'd heard of the difficulties that RT had with hiring Gavin - and that they'd declined hiring you because of it - I never sent off that folio, and ended up leaving it half-finished. It's a wistful dream these days to write for a living, or to collaborate with others creatively - but seeing Monty's signature on a poster on my wall at least gives me a little hope. Maybe one day... hopefully while I'm still young enough to enjoy it.
Anywho... yeah. Amazing vid, Ross, those fusions were incredible. Just... felt like I had to share that story in response to yours.

I didn’t realize ross knew Monty… he was such a talented and clever animator, and when he was announced to be joining rooster teeth and just hopped out of the audience onto the panel stage… what a cool guy, we lost him to soon
Monty was a very close friend of mine and in many ways taught me a lot about work ethic and discipline. We all miss him very much, but he's always with us :)

What's important isn't the time of the animation, it's the frames. They made 1 minute of extremely high quality animation, which is totally different from 1 minute of still shots and stuff like that.

@@dickurkel6910 well that’s what I’m saying (sorry if coming off rude)they’re not actually animations and cant be rated on the same scale. An animatic doesn’t require movement and fluidity like an animation as it’s usually either marking out key frames or is used for PNG CZcamsrs. They’re not supposed to have a lot of in between frames as that’s the style. Whereas an animation must have movement.
So yeah one takes “more effort” as it has more frames but you can’t exactly rate them like that as some animatics have much more detailed shots than this animation and others have less

If the Sailor Moon / Zim post-fusion frames had been played in reverse order (that's a sentence I never expected to say), I think it would have looked better; going from less detail to more detail as they come out of the transformation, and also you get the hair.
That would be cool, but I love how it is too. It sorta implies that Zim would be the dominant personality and thus the last burst changed the hair to Zim-esque with that sly, maniacal grin.

And you can do some occasional outlandish things with Venomized characters. When the time lost past version of Hank McCoy, The Beast of the X-Men, bonded with a Symbiote during the *Poison-X* Venom/X-Men: Blue crossover it gave him _fur_ like his future self (which is our present) has.

Actually, in the official art by Toriyama, Glenn does have a shield. He just doesn't in the game. (Just like Ayla doesn't have the club Toriyama gave her in her art.)

I think my only slight of slightest nicpicks of all time, since I mean come on all this animation was bonkers incredible, was how many times the Potara earrings were left off of the final fusions. With so much to keep track of though and the fact that they were continuously working off someone else frames, it makes sense they'd get over looked.
The timing with the music at 47:54! The way that the chorus hit right when Bayonetta and Tron guy combined and the music got a bit louder! SO GOOD!!! Also the art is amazing too, obviously. All of them

Reveal frames are always so cool and hype to all of us, so there are no bad intentions here, it is the natural pace of the gartic phone reveal part where frames appear automatically one after another so it is something absolutely normal.

God damn NFTs dude, that's the biggest BS ever, it's never good for an artist as they say it is, I got paid 25 hundred to work on a set and not only it became 3 sets by the end of it because nothing sold, I had to invest the same money I got paid for so it could have some publicity for it and by the end it was just a huge net loss.
Moral of the story, NEVER EVER GET INTO NFT, it's only good for either artists with no shame and a lot of net worth or game companies with zero care to sell out, basically what Steam does with the collectibles but dumber since at least those have a platform to trade them.

@@guyferrari8124 Websites? Yes, platform, no. You download it into your files instead of having it into a digital library, which would honestly be a smarter system. You get a file you can duplicate in tons of ways with no control, if there was an actual platform, there would be control on the number on the market, also no one could just take a screen capture of your piece and sell it without permision.
I can litterally just imagine a giant animation where they all fuse together and fight against the other fusions they did......... The music just makes it so much better as well......

The styles hardly disrupt any of the animations and they turn out looking really clean
The flickering between styles honestly helps give each subject an "organic" movement, like the character is breathing or getting wind blown across them, even if it's not quite actually that.

The fact there's an alternate timeline where mony is still alive, roosterteeth didnt go to shit, and working with both gavin and ross makes me happy and sad at the same time
I mean, it probably would still have gone to shit. The only thing that would probably be saved in that timeline would be RWBY but that would probably just mean they'd focus on it even more than they already do, which is too much.
God, yeah. I can only see RoosterTeeth not going to shit would be moving on from rwby though... the writing and all the new characters makes me think that group would have to move on from that series to newer projects. But with how much they milked it with games and such I don't really see the company not going downhill even with Monty still being there to wrap up the show.

I didn't know about the story of Ross almost working with Rooster Teeth. I also didn't know he was close with Monty either! I'm such a huge Rooster Teeth (especially RWBY) and Game Grumps fan. I'm filled with so many emotions as my fandoms collide. :O
(although I still love rwby) its kinda sad how much worse it is this days
I knew he was close to Monty, because I was a RWBY and Dead Fantasy fan and a Grumps and Grump-adjacent content creators fan around the time Monty joined the twin gods, and saw Ross's big respects post, but the part about Hullum almost hiring Ross but deciding against it because of the difficulties with getting Gavin, that part was new to me.
The dedication put into this just gives me hope for animation in general

I'm genuinely surprised every one of these animators hadn't heard of Tron: Uprising (I know like half of them had but still). That shit is fucking visionary and deserved so, so much better than it got from Disney.
I LOVED Tron growing up. I also watched uprising late at night. as he said it was fucking amazing and I loved all of it. the character arcs were crazy and you always wanted to keep on watching. Tron Legacy I thought was an immaculate movie and the sound track and sound design done by Daft Punk completely immersive. They knocked it out of the park for me with the movie. When they cancelled the sequel i was really bummed out tbh...
I remember seeing the show on Disney XD. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep track of all the episodes because of school and I was not much of a night person. The episodes I managed to see always got me hooked and it's sad that shows like these have cruel twist of fate.
SAME!!! I binged it as a kid on Netflix, without knowing much about Tron. It left me wanting more, though I knew it wouldn't come back :((.
I actually watched it on Netflix on my 3ds as a younger lad, real shame that show
I never knew about Tron, but it sounds like it got the same treatment that Firefly did. Another amazing show, but this was a live-action Sci-Fi "space western." Some big names in there, too, like Summer Glau and Nathan Fillion. However, the channel who was hosting it at the time didn't think the show would do well and really, really wanted to promote some reality TV show instead, so they put Firefly on a timeframe that would basically guarantee that only a select few got to watch it, then they pointed at those ratings to say "See, we were right, it didn't catch user retention" and axed the show after only ONE SEASON.
However, the fans loved the show so much that the fans themselves actually managed to fundraiser enough money to have Firefly make its own movie, Serenity. One-season shows rarely get movies, and it's always nice to see fans give support to shows that the TV people wouldn't. It's even such a cult classic that one of Nathan's later acting stints -- Castle --- often makes references to Firefly or Nathan's work in Firefly. Like, the series starts with Nathan wearing a 'brown coat' and his daughter (in the show) catching him and he says it was from an old stint he did. And in a later episode, he speaks Chinese because, of course, to act in Firefly they had to learn certain Chinese phrases (since in-universe, Chinese is basically as common as English throughout the planets, especially in the Outer planets).
Another show taken too soon to really get going and show what it had planned, but at least what it gave was amazing.
I like to skip to the results not because I don't want to see you guys put in the effort, but because I just don't want to spoil myself on any of the amazing results! You guys are awesome! Can't wait to see more awesome and funny Gartic Phone moments!

This is honestly amazing, the motivation I needed and a good lesson to learn, I alredy knew about time and practice, but even making a short animation, will take a day per frame and acceptance of mistakes

Dude that would be so freaking cool. They're complete opposites in color (wolf link's black and grey, Amaterasu's white and red)

I deliver bills every-so-often. Like 2 or 3 times going into their yard (which honestly it's just a porch) I talked to myself to pass the time only to realize the neighbour was standing nearby, making it extra awkward.
Last few months I had extra depressing episodes, and they left some snails for cooking lying. In a basket, just chilling in there, alive and stuff. And I'm like "life sure sucks, don't it, little dudes?" and the lady was just standing nearby and I'm all (well this is like the third time, I'm talking to their soon-to-be food, she thinks I'm fuckin craaaaazy) "sorry bye!"

Idea: fusions, but the characters share a name. E.g. Makoto from Danganronpa and Makoto from Persona 5. Or Tom Nook and Tom Bombadil. Or the two very different versions of Dennis the Menace.

This video shows once again the magic of humans cooperate without detailed instructions like if there is a instinct or an ancient sense. I personally experienced this a lot of times: If there is a raw idea the right people will know what you mean even if you don't know it by yourself so far. Confusing? Just let it sink in for a while...
I mean it literaly is, we humans have literaly evolved as the defnitive social animal, for millions of years we hunted and collected our food in groups and spended our time around the fire telling stories and listening to music, it's in our DNA to be social and it is the reason why we have grow soo much, is all thanks to our capability to come and work together to accomplish something bigger than the sum of our parts is what makes us human

I cannot believe how amazing these all came out in this round. The extra time they allowed really showed and the character designs were absolutely sick. Though I am no artist or animator, this series has really made me appreciate animation and art on a whole new level.
