I use both, I have used fl for 1 and half year (still using it but less more) but turned to Ableton, for beats and less complicated could be on FL

@@lucabloor1086 Yea so while ableton is really really costly and things like that, it's sorta you get what you pay for, i will say Fl is probably hands down the most intuitive software out there for early music makers, but ableton is like that one step further, it does things in a bit different way and im still learning it, But one thing i know for sure is, once you learn it fully it will be one of the most powerful composer software out there, and it also handles video. Samples wise, well you are always better off getting your own samples etc. Fruity loops seems like it's built for speed and ease of use, and ive seen tons of videos using it. Ive spent some time using reason myself as well, and that seems to be somewhat more complex but still up the ally of fruity loops. To put it short, the most supported software usually gets the furthest. Not sure how much free stuff is available for fruity loops, but it's in the end up to the producer what he feels most at ease with.

    1) There is a small bar next to your sounds in the channel rack. Double click on that and go to your first mixer track and press ctrl+shift+l. It will link everything to the mixer without manually doing it.
    2) When you click on the plus icon in the channel rack to add instrument, click on more plugins and then manage plugins. A window will pop up. There, you can add destinations where you have saved your VSTs(On the right side under 'Plugin search path') and do a quick scan.
3)When you add an 808, right click the 808 on the 808 in the channel rack and click 'Cut itself'. It will cut the previous 808 when the new one hits, therby preventing overlap.
4)Remove Fruity Limiter on the bottom of the Master bus and add a soft clipper. This will give you a neutral sound.
    5) You can drag and drop your loops on the Playlist to play them as it is. If it a one shot, you can create it like a drum. one thing to do would be to click on the oneshot, go over to envelope and then in the volume section, Turn down every parameter except 'Hold'. It will give you full control of the sound. You can do this with the 808 too.
6)You can use presets by just clicking on the Plugin, going to the top right corner of the plugin and clicking it, and then going to presets

Welcome to the FL Gang fam! Off the top of my head I can’t remember how to do some of the stuff you wanted to do in this video but I do know it’s something really simple. One of the best channels to watch is busy works beats, literally everything you need to know is on that channel.
Depending on what version of FL (fruity or producer, I’m assuming you have producer) a lot of the synths, effects etc can be used but not recorded but the way around it is to convert each track to a waveform and you’re sorted (or buy the particular plugin you need),
Definitely add all your vst’s, drum kits, midi packs etc if that’s what you’re use to, you’ll find you can pretty much do anything you want in FL.
Good luck in your progress, I look forward to seeing what you come up with, stay up and stay blessed!

Randolph. Pat yourself on the back. You accomplished a song idea with multiple instruments and a rhythm all in 20 minutes without ever having used the software in your entire music career. That would take someone else up to 1 week or even a month to accomplish. If you can do all that in 20 minutes, imagine where you would be in month, 6 months or a year of using FLStudio. You'd be amazing an amazing FL Studio producer. Great video. I feel your pain. I remember those moments too, but and I know it sounds cliché, but practice makes you the master.

With FL Studio, you gotta think of the playlist as your work-desk; not only are you dropping your patterns into it for playback, you're cutting and trimming samples, moving them wherever, you can even make multiple mini-tracks to test out different ideas. It's a completely free workspace, which is great for some people, but not for others. Good vid, picked it up way faster than I did!

And now as a treat: Try Serato Studio (with all the sample packs included) it will seem too easy at first but then you’ll wonder why nobody has made a auto-timestretch-auto-pitchshift DAW before...

Here's my best tip; you can move anything in flstudio/vsts inside flstudio and so on, then go directly to tools - last tweaked - create automation clip. This will give you so much creative freedom. Hope it helps!

More power to you, as a life long Logic user I completely DESPISED FL Studio. Felt so unintuitive and complicated, as a pianist, I don’t want to manually sequence drum patterns. Also recording vocals on FL is more complicated than Logic - but it’s starting to grow on me
